Mystery surrounds Ont. man's 2023 disappearance
Daniel Holden, 38, of Bracebridge, Ont., is pictured in this undated photo. (Source: OPP) Mystery surrounds the disappearance of a Bracebridge man who vanished two years ago. Daniel Holden was initially reported missing on Sept. 12, 2023. Police say he was last seen one month earlier on August 12. His partner of four years, Christy Stengel, told CTV News in an interview just months after his disapperance he had gone to Bracebridge to gather some clothing from his apartment. 'And it didn't happen that way,' she said. Stengel said Holden may have gone to Casino Rama in Orillia, but police have not confirmed those details. He is 5-feet and 6-inches tall, with short black hair, and was last seen wearing a black sweater with white stripes on the sleeves and black pants. (OPP) Months later, in February 2024, in another interview with CTV News about his disappearance, Stengel told CTV News Holden had gone to Toronto to gather some belongings and never returned. 'This is out of his character,' she said. ''I fear the worst because this is not his style.' Investigators believe he was last in the area of Southwood Road in Gravenhurst on Aug. 12, 2023. CTV News reached out to Ontario Provincial Police on Wednesday for an update on the case but was told there were no new leads. Holden, described as five feet six inches tall, with short black hair, was last seen wearing a black sweater with white stripes on the sleeves and black pants. He was known to drive a gold 2022 Mazda MPV minivan with the licence plate CKXC268. Daniel Holden's vehicle Daniel Holden went missing from the Bracebridge Ont., area on August 12, 2023. He drove a gold 2002 Mazda MPV minivan bearing the Ontario plate CKXC 268.
