Outlander Blood of my Blood fans already have favourite couple as they praise 'phenomenal' scenes

Outlander fans have been thrilled at the new hit show, which follows the tale of both Claire and Jamie Fraser's parents in a riveting new time-travelling series. Outlander Blood of My Blood has been the hot topic across the globe, as the spin-off show finally aired to UK audiences over the weekend. Hitting screens on August 8, fans of the original Outlander franchise had a whole new world to get stuck into. ‌ Despite only two episodes being released so far, many have already set their sights on their favourites. The spin-off show will unravel the tale of both Outlander 's main stars, Jamie and Claire Fraser's parents. ‌ Taking to discussion platform Reddit, one fan wrote: "OBSESSED with Ellen and Brian and loving the Julia/Henry backstory of this episode so far. The falling in love through letter writing was so cute. The depiction of Henry's shell shock, and how she anchors kiss". ‌ "I'm liking the Julia and Henry storyline way more than I thought!," quipped another fan as a third chimed: "I wasn't expecting to love Henry and Julia this much - but dang I do! I see both of them in her." A fourth added: "I'm surprisingly more invested in Henry and Julia at this point. That could change. Lord Lovat is deliciously vile. He is so slimy. I can see he's a character I'm going to love to hate." ‌ "I agree with a lot of people. Im actually more invested in Julia and Henry," wrote another fan. Someone else agreed, noting the reason why they might be leaning towards the couple, as they said:" I'm definitely more invested in Henry and Julia than I am Brian and Ellen (maybe because we're more familiar with that story?)." Another fan said: "They're really laying the Claire-Julia parallels on thick. So far, Henry and Julia have a much more compelling story than Brian and Ellen to me. Can't wait to see what's next!" ‌ Elsewhere, fans also praised the "phenomenal" camera work in the spin-off series as they buzzed about the World War I scenes. "No one is talking about how good that WWI stuff was," one fan noted. They continued: "I was pretty amazed but how gross and gritty and real it all felt, especially since the later seasons of Outlander seemed to lose some of that." ‌ Fans were quick to chime in, adding: "Totally agree! The WWI scenes looked as good as any WWI or WWII movie I've seen in a theatre. I think Culloden was the last time I've felt that way on Outlander. All of the battle scenes after that have seemed almost amateurish in comparison." A third said: "OMG yes!! The cinematography was phenomenal. A friend of mine went to a screening and saw it on the big screen. She said it blew everyone away. It was like watching a big budget film rather than a television show." "Also those war scenes were done brilliantly. They def spent a lot on production for this show," added another fan. ‌ The series will follow two new love stories, one which starts on the battlefields of the Western Front during World War I and the other in the meadows of Scotland in the early 18th century. Since its debut more than a decade ago, Outlander itself has amassed a global fanbase. The historical romance series, centring round Claire Randall/Fraser (Caitríona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), saw their love affair quickly capture hearts. However with the show nearing its end with the eighth and final season set for 2026, the phenomenon is expanding in the form of a spin-off to Diana Gabaldon's treasured franchise.
