McIntyre did not hold back his feelings on the segment. He expressed his disappointment with both the outcome of the match and the "stupid song" that followed.
"I was so happy getting Clash in Wales and getting the first stadium show since SummerSlam '92' and getting the main event," McIntyre said. "I wasn't happy getting s*rewed and the worst moment of my life singing that stupid song afterwards."
McIntyre Currently Sidelined With Injury
These comments come as McIntyre is currently away from WWE programming. He is recovering from an injury suffered in late May.
His last match was a loss to Damian Priest in a Steel Cage match at the Saturday Night's Main Event television special on May 24. It was reported after the show that McIntyre had been working through an injury for some time and was taking a necessary break to heal.
He is expected to miss an extended period. There is currently no timetable for his return to the ring. WWE will likely want to have him back in time for SummerSlam this August if they can swing it and he is willing to comeback for the two-night event.
