Drew McIntyre has looked back on one of the most infamous moments of his career. The former WWE Champion called the post-match segment from Clash at the Castle 2022 the "worst moment of his life."
The comments came during a recent interview with Cultaholic Wrestling. McIntyre reflected on the frustration of the entire experience.
McIntyre On Clash At The Castle 2022
The Clash at the Castle event in 2022 was WWE's first major stadium show in the United Kingdom in 30 years. McIntyre, a UK native, challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event.
Many fans expected McIntyre to win the title in his home country. However, he lost the match after the debuting Solo Sikoa interfered on behalf of Reigns.
Following the disappointing loss, McIntyre was joined in the ring by boxing legend Tyson Fury. The two then sang 'American Pie' to the deflated crowd in a moment that was widely criticized by fans online.

McIntyre did not hold back his feelings on the segment. He expressed his disappointment with both the outcome of the match and the "stupid song" that followed.
"I was so happy getting Clash in Wales and getting the first stadium show since SummerSlam '92' and getting the main event," McIntyre said. "I wasn't happy getting s*rewed and the worst moment of my life singing that stupid song afterwards."
McIntyre Currently Sidelined With Injury
These comments come as McIntyre is currently away from WWE programming. He is recovering from an injury suffered in late May.
His last match was a loss to Damian Priest in a Steel Cage match at the Saturday Night's Main Event television special on May 24. It was reported after the show that McIntyre had been working through an injury for some time and was taking a necessary break to heal.
He is expected to miss an extended period. There is currently no timetable for his return to the ring. WWE will likely want to have him back in time for SummerSlam this August if they can swing it and he is willing to comeback for the two-night event.

Joey Chestnut Breaks Silence on Deal That Ended July 4 Hot Dog Contest Ban
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Joey Chestnut told USA TODAY on Monday that he was preparing for the "worst" — no pun intended — when the annual Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest rolled around in July. Chestnut, a 16-time champion of the event, did not participate in America's premier food-eating competition in 2024. He was declared ineligible by virtue of a deal he made with Impossible Foods, maker of a plant-based hot dog product. The ban ended Chestnut's 19-year run as the face of the event. (1/3)I was gutted to learn from the media that after 19 years Im banned from the Nathan's July 4th Hot Dog Eating Contest. I love competing in that event, I love celebrating America with my fans all over this great country on the 4th and I have been training to defend my title. — Joey Chestnut (@joeyjaws) June 11, 2024 Lacking the brevity of Michael Jordan's two-word announcement of his return to the NBA in 1995, Chestnut broke his silence on the resolution of the contractual dispute that led to his one-year absence from the July 4 event. "It almost doesn't feel real yet," Chestnut told USA TODAY Sports. "I was preparing for the worst, but we were able to work it out." Joey Chestnut reacts after winning first place, eating 63 hot dogs in 10 minutes, during the 2022 Nathans Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4, 2022 at Coney Island in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. MoreAccording to the report from Josh Peter, Chestnut agreed earlier this month to endorse only Nathan's hot dogs as part of a three-year contract with Nathan's and the International Federation of Competitive Eating (which runs the annual competition), but still has a deal with Impossible Foods. Patrick Bertoletti won the main event on the men's side at last year's Nathan's Famous hot dog eating contest. He consumed 58 hot dogs to claim the title. Chestnut ate 62 hot dogs to win the event in 2023; his 76 hot dogs in 2021 are the gold standard. I'm thrilled to be returning to the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest. This event means the world to me. It's a cherished tradition, a celebration of American culture, and a huge part of my life. (1/3) — Joey Chestnut (@joeyjaws) June 16, 2025 "I'm thrilled to be returning to the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest. This event means the world to me. It's a cherished tradition, a celebration of American culture, and a huge part of my life," Chestnut wrote on Twitter/X Monday. "While I have and continue to partner with a variety of companies, including some in the plant-based space, those relationships were never a conflict with my love for hot dogs. To be clear: Nathan's is the only hot dog company I've ever worked with. "I respect that there were differences in interpretation, but I'm grateful we've been able to find common ground. I'm excited to be back on the Coney Island stage, doing what I live to do, and celebrating the Fourth of July with hot dogs in my hands! Stay hungry!" Last year, Chestnut consumed a record 83 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes in a televised event ("Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef") on Sept. 2. For more sports news, visit Newsweek Sports.

Woman Makes 'Scene' Over Husband's Mistake, Then She Checks the Footage
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. An Australian couple's DIY plans took an unexpected turn when one mischievous family member got in on the action. Jackie and Craig, who live in Melbourne with their dog, Roy, were installing shutters when they realized vital screws and tools had vanished. In a viral video on Instagram, Jackie, who didn't give a surname, shared how she had blamed her husband for the missing items during their DIY install. "When you make a whole scene about him misplacing the screws and losing his tools... then you watch back the install footage," the text overlay said. Initially baffled by the missing items, they later discovered—thanks to footage from their DIY reel—that Roy had been secretly collecting the misplaced items. "He is incredibly cheeky and always up to mischief. I had no idea he was behind it until I watched back the video while editing my Instagram reel," Jackie told Newsweek. A picture from the Instagram video where Jackie revealed the culprit of the DIY sabotage. As the video gained more than 137,000 views since being posted to @my_friend_jackies_house at the start of this month, people couldn't get enough of Roy's mischievous antics, sharing their reactions in the comments. "This is the equivalent of my dog ate my homework," laughed viewer @ While @ourlittleaussiehouse said: "This is the funniest." Instagram user @morspacemelbourne said that Roy had been "caught red-pawed!" While viewer @sherwinwilliams stood up for the young pup and joked: "He's not stealing, he's collecting for his secret workshop." This isn't the first time a dog has been hilariously caught out for cheeky antics. Like the pup who was caught enjoying a slice of cake in a coffee shop when he thought nobody was looking, or a mischievous young golden retriever who pretended to be asleep when their owner found they had chewed up one of their sandals. There is also previous evidence that dogs and DIY don't always mix well. In 2024 one dog owner proved that pets and home improvement aren't great bedfellows when he opened a can of paint, only to return and realize that his dog, Ted, had relieved himself in the bucket of bright white paint. Another viral video proved that dogs can be made to help though as Delilah the pup was given a head-torch to assist her owner in some hammering at home. "What a supportive diva," said one commenter on the viral video. Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share? Lewis Hamilton Hints at Chaos Inside Ferrari With Cryptic Message
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton dropped hints after the Canadian Grand Prix about some inner-team turmoil within the Italian racing outfit. Life at Ferrari for Lewis Hamilton started as a fairytale, with much fanfare and anticipation, but it quickly spiraled into a nightmare after a rocky first 10 races with the Scuderia. Amid performance problems, new details are emerging about potential causes for the lackluster start. Fifth placed qualifier Lewis Hamilton of Great Britain and Scuderia Ferrari in parc ferme during qualifying ahead of the F1 Grand Prix of Canada at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on June 14, 2025 in Montreal, Quebec. Photo byThe British racer revealed that things are happening behind the scenes at Ferrari that are preventing progress. "The mindset for me, I'm like 'there's a lot of changes that need to be made in the system.' I wish I could tell you what's happening. There's a lot going on in the background," Hamilton told Sky Sports Italy. "Yeah, I can't say too much about it. There's so many things I wish I could tell you that could explain the things that have happened this year, the problems we had, and what's going on within the organization. "But my goal is to try and positively influence, try and get change so we can have long-term success. "There's a lot of changes that we need. For me it's that foundation building. We're not fighting for a championship." Hamilton still isn't comfortable in the SF-25 and is publicly demanding some upgrades to the car. "Of course I'm asking for these things [upgrades]," Hamilton added. "I don't know why we haven't been bringing upgrades, I think we have one hopefully coming soon." Ferrari and Hamilton entered the season with title-winning aspirations, but the team has failed to win a Grand Prix this season, only getting a sprint race win in China. Charles Leclerc, in the No. 16 car, consistently maximizes the performance from the car, getting shocking results much higher than expected at most races. The Monaco-born driver managed to fight for pole position on a couple of occasions this season. Hamilton, on the other hand, continues to struggle in qualifying, getting consistently one-upped by Leclerc. The seven-time champion's race pace is still blistering; he is working his way up the grid from lower spots, but he has started on the back foot consistently, managing to keep up. Despite the struggles, Hamilton is only one spot below Leclerc, sitting P6 and only 25 points away, highlighting that his rough form is still relatively close to his teammate. If updates do something to the car, and Hamilton grows in comfort, he might be able to start delivering on the hype.
