Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani's REACTION to Anushka Sharma's surprising audition video for 3 Idiots is simply priceless!

When Anushka Sharma surprised Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani with her old audition tape for 3 Idiots on the set of PK, the priceless reactions were pure gold! What started as a forgotten moment from the past quickly became a heartwarming reminder of Anushka's incredible journey from hopeful newcomer to Bollywood superstar. Anushka's Early Hustle: Auditioning for 3 Idiots Anushka, who made her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), actually auditioned for Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots a year before its release in 2009. While her debut was carefully kept under wraps by filmmaker Aditya Chopra, who wanted to keep her away from the spotlight before the film's release, Anushka was already hustling hard for major roles early on. The Unforgettable Audition Tape Moment on PK Sets On the sets of PK, the actress surprised everyone when she pulled out her old audition tape and played it for director Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan. The duo watched, clearly impressed, as Anushka delivered a powerful monologue from Munna Bhai MBBS, recreating Gracy Singh's emotional climax scene where she tearfully confronts Boman Irani's character. Hirani, clearly surprised, exclaimed, 'Anushka auditioned for 3 Idiots? No, she didn't.' Aamir Khan, equally impressed, praised her for delivering such a raw emotional performance without using glycerin. He even joked that Hirani made a big mistake by not casting her after such a strong audition. Meanwhile, Anushka shyly hid her face in embarrassment as the trio shared a good laugh, capturing the priceless moment on camera. Though the role eventually went to Kareena Kapoor, things clearly worked out well for Anushka. After her successful debut, she impressed audiences with powerful performances in films like Band Baaja Baaraat, Sultan, Dil Dhadakne Do, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil . Taking her career further, Anushka ventured into production with her brother Karnesh Sharma under their banner Clean Slate Films, backing bold and acclaimed projects such as NH10, Pari, Phillauri, and popular OTT hits like Paatal Lok, Bulbbul, and Qala. Balancing Family Life and Career Anushka Sharma has been keeping a relatively low profile lately, gracefully balancing family life with her career. In January 2025, she and Virat Kohli were spotted returning to Mumbai after a short getaway to Alibaug. Though they traveled together initially, Anushka returned solo, sparking curiosity among fans. Earlier, the couple rang in the New Year in Sydney, turning heads with their coordinated black outfits while enjoying the city's spectacular fireworks display. Anushka's Upcoming Comeback Anushka made headlines again in March when she was spotted cheering for Virat during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final in Dubai, sharing a sweet moment as they exchanged waves from the stands. On the professional front, fans are eagerly awaiting her much-anticipated return to the big screen with the upcoming biopic Chakda 'Xpress, where she steps into the shoes of cricket legend Jhulan Goswami. This film marks Anushka's comeback after a break, and excitement is building around its release. Check out our list of the latest Hindi , English , Tamil , Telugu , Malayalam , and Kannada movies .
