Man who threatened to bomb Coachella is arrested in Palm Springs
A Santa Monica man was arrested Saturday around 12:15 p.m. after he threatened to bomb the Coachella Music & Arts Festival, the Cathedral City Police Department said. Police were notified of a suspicious man at Agua Caliente Casino after security guards were approached by a man traveling in a Tesla who said he'd 'be responsible for a bombing' at the festival, according to police. Using DMV information, officers identified the vehicle's owner and began to search for him. While police looked for the man, they notified law enforcement officials at the festival of the threat. Investigators used Flock ALPR cameras to track the man's movements through the Coachella Valley and located his car in Palm Springs shortly after midnight. He was arrested in the city, and a subsequent search of his vehicle showed that no weapons, explosives, or bomb-making materials were in his possession. The man, who was identified as 40-year-old Davis Darvish of Santa Monica, was arrested and charged with making bomb threats. He is being held on $1 million bail.

Police identified Darvish through his Tesla vehicle details and alerted festival personnel and local law enforcement. By noon, Palm Springs police located Darvish's vehicle and detained him. A search of his vehicle revealed no weapons, explosives, or bomb-making materials. Darvish was subsequently booked into custody at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio on $1 million bail. California man arrested on suspicion of making false bomb threat aimed at Coachella Music and Arts Festival
A California man was taken into custody over the weekend after allegedly making a false bomb threat aimed at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Riverside County. The incident unfolded at 10:47 a.m. Saturday after officers with Cathedral City responded to the Agua Caliente Casino, located at 68960 East Palm Canyon Drive, in Cathedral City regarding a suspicious person. Police said that security personnel with the Casino stated that the individual had approached them and said he would be responsible for a bombing at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival. The individual's car was identified as a Tesla. Through the use of DMV information, police said they were able to positively identify the vehicle's owner as Davis Darvish of Santa Monica, who they identified as the suspect accused of making the bombing threat. Officers tracked the vehicle and located it near Saturnino Road and South Calle El Segundo. Darvish was taken into custody without incident. Police said no weapons, explosives, or bomb-making materials were found in Darvish's possession or his vehicle when he was detained. He was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of reporting a false bomb threat with bail set at $1 million.
