Kendrick Lamar And SZA Hit The Same Milestone For The First Time Together

Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 'Luther' spends a tenth week at No. 1 on the Hot 100, marking the first ... More time either artist has ruled the chart for double-digit weeks. INDIO, CA - APRIL 13: Kendrick Lamar and SZA perform onstage during the 2018 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Field on April 13, 2018 in Indio, California. (Photo byfor Coachella) Kendrick Lamar and SZA are once again in control of the Hot 100, as their joint track "Luther" isn't just a hit — it's turning into one of the longest-running champions the ranking has seen in years. This week is especially notable for the cut, as it not only holds at No. 1, but also helps both superstars manage a landmark achievement in their already illustrious careers. "Luther" is steady at No. 1 on the Hot 100 this frame, refusing to vacate the penthouse. As it collects a tenth frame atop Billboard's ranking of the most-consumed songs in the U.S., the collaboration between Lamar and SZA joins some of the longest-running rulers in recent memory. The Hot 100 blends sales figures, streaming data, and radio airplay audience impressions to create a comprehensive snapshot of what Americans are listening to — and this frame, for most of them, that "Luther.' As "Luther" hits double-digit weeks at No. 1, both Lamar and SZA reach previously-uncharted territory. Neither musician had ever managed to secure a 10-week No. 1 on the Hot 100. In fact, neither had even come particularly close until now. Lamar has previously logged two leaders that stayed at No. 1 for just three frames apiece: "Not Like Us" and "Like That," the latter of which is fronted by Future and Metro Boomin. "Luther" outpaced those former champions more than a month ago. SZA, meanwhile, has only claimed a single multi-week No. 1 on the chart. Prior to "Luther," the singer-songwriter had topped the Hot 100 only twice — with her own solo smash "Kill Bill" and the collaborative "Slime You Out" with Drake. Both tracks managed just a single week each at the summit. It hasn't been that long since a song spent 10 or more weeks atop the Hot 100. In 2024, Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" racked up a staggering 19 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1. That total tied Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus's "Old Town Road" for the longest-running leader in the chart's history. Over the past several years, at least one single has managed to dominate the Hot 100 for 10 or more frames annually. In 2023, Morgan Wallen's "Last Night" ruled for 16 weeks, and the year before that, Harry Styles's "As It Was" claimed the crown 15 times.

Bernie Sanders Issues Stark Warning About Trump at Coachella

Sen. Bernie Sanders speaks onstage before Clairo's performance at the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival on April 12, 2025, in Indio, Calif. Credit - Katie Flores/Billboard—Getty Images Sen. Bernie Sanders, an Independent serving Vermont, made an unexpected appearance at the Coachella music festival in Indio, Calif., on Saturday evening. He offered a stark warning about President Donald Trump during a rousing on-stage speech. Sanders' surprise address included calls for the younger generation to 'stand up' against the fossil fuel industry, insurance companies, and U.S. states that are looking to roll back abortion rights. Upon his first mention of the "President of the United States," the crowd started to boo—a reaction which prompted Sanders to say: 'I agree.' '[Trump] thinks that climate change is a hoax. He's dangerously wrong,' Sanders warned. 'And you and I are going to have to stand up to the fossil fuel industry and tell them to stop destroying this planet.' The Trump Administration has taken multiple actions that threaten to dismantle climate mitigation efforts since January—from the rollback of protections at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and an Executive Order to increase logging, to mass staff cuts at prominent agencies including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). 'This country faces some very difficult challenges, and the future of what happens to America is dependent upon your generation,' Sanders opened his speech saying, appealing to the younger members of the crowd. 'Now you can turn away and ignore what goes on, but if you do that, you do so at your own peril. We need you to stand up and fight for justice, to fight for economic justice, social justice, and racial justice.' Sanders went on to ask that the crowd 'stand up and fight for women's rights,' and work for economic justice and equality. 'We have an economy today that is working very well for the billionaire class, but not for working families,' Sanders said. Ending on healthcare, he called for the audience 'to stand up to the insurance companies and the drug companies and understand that healthcare is a human right.' Despite earning much applause of his own, Sanders was on stage to introduce singer-songwriter Clairo—born Claire Cottrill—who he praised on account of her own activism. 'I'm here because Clairo has used her prominence to fight for women's rights, to try to end the terrible, brutal war in Gaza, where thousands of women and children are being killed,' Sanders said. Earlier in the day, Sanders spoke with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat serving New York, in Los Angeles as a part of their 'Fighting Oligarchy Tour.' Their rally drew thousands of attendees, and featured appearances from musicians Maggie Rogers, Neil Young, and Joan Baez. Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez have been touring the nation in hopes to 'take on the Oligarchs and corporate interests who have so much power and influence in this country,' and address the growing influence of billionaires on the U.S. government. FKA Twigs postpones ‘Eusexua' US tour dates over visa error

Singer FKA Twigs has announced the postponement of several of her Eusexua US tour dates due to visa issues. The artist, whose real name is Tahliah Barnett, explained on social media that an error led to the required paperwork not being submitted in time. The affected shows include Chicago on 26 and 27 March, Toronto on 30 and 31 March, and New York on 3 and 4 May. These dates follow earlier postponements of the tour's initial shows in Prague and Berlin, which were attributed to shipping issues. The 37-year-old recently completed the UK and European leg of her Eusexua tour with a final performance in London on 22 March. In a post on X, the singer, whose real name is Tahliah Barnett, said: 'I wanted to come on here and personally address, and talk to you about some things that have been happening behind the scenes in my world. 'So as you may have seen, I have been performing the Eusexua tour in the UK and Europe, and it's been absolutely incredible. 'The reception and the crowd, and the artistic expression, everything's just been completely amazing, and I feel so grateful to be just a part of such an amazing creative process. 'Behind the scenes, practically, it has been challenging with production and just yeah, the more practical sides of putting this tour together. 'So today, I was informed that production did not fill out the correct paperwork in a timely manner for us to have our visas to come to the USA and perform, so that means that by no choice of my own, I will have to pull out of my New York, Chicago and Toronto shows. 'For those of you who are wondering why I have to pull out of Toronto, because it's not part of the United States, it's because of routing and just the complex beast that touring is. 'I don't take this lightly, I'm completely devastated to be honest with you, and completely heartbroken, all I want to do is to be there with you, bring Eusexua to you. 'I've not performed in the USA since 2019 and it really feels like a home away from home, and this is just such a huge blow, and I feel super let down, and I'm looking into how and why this happened, and I'm making sure that I have the support to correct this.' She went on to say that she would be 'rescheduling' the shows, with information to come 'very shortly'. Becoming emotional, FKA Twigs continued: 'I can't wait to bring Eusexua to you, it's truly been one of the greatest achievements of my life, it's been this amazing, incredible, spiritual, enlightening whirlwind, and all I want is to be with you and be performing with you. 'So I'm truly devastated, and I'm so sorry for everyone that if this has affected your your plans. 'Thank you so much for understanding, I'm going to come to you harder and stronger than ever, thank you so much love you.' She is also due to perform at the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival in California next month, and a gig in San Francisco on April 19, with no updates given as to whether these will be impacted by the visa issues. The tour comes after the singer released her third studio album of the same name in January, which peaked at number three on the UK albums chart. The singer is next due to perform in Mexico City on April 6.

Grimes Celebrates Trailblazers Creating ‘Magic' With AI

Credit - Matt Winkelmeyer—Getty Images Grimes Celebrates Trailblazers Creating 'Magic' With AI While much of the music industry has shied away from AI, Grimes has embraced it. In 2023, the musician and producer made headlines when she announced that she would allow fans to simulate her voice using AI to create new music—and promised to split royalties with those who did. On Monday, TIME recognized Grimes and three others leaders shaping the future of AI at the TIME100 AI Impact Awards in Dubai. Others who joined Grimes in receiving recognition for their work in the space included California Institute of Technology professor Anima Anandkumar, visual artist Refik Anadol, and Arvind Krishna, the CEO, chairman, and president of IBM. The evening also featured a performance by Emirati soul singer Arqam Al Abri. In her speech accepting the award, Grimes began by referencing a famous quote from Arthur C. Clarke in which the science fiction writer observes that advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. She then used the on-stage moment as an opportunity to celebrate other notable innovators she found deserving of recognition, saying: 'I wanted to shout out some of my favorite real-life wizards and some real-life magic that exists now.' To her list of such magicians, Grimes named David Holz, the founder of Midjourney, a generative AI tool that creates images inspired by users' prompts; Aza Raskin, a technologist who is decoding the language of whales with the help of AI; and Sam Zeloof, an entrepreneur known for getting his start by building silicon chips in his parents' garage. Grimes also highlighted singer-songwriter Holly Herndon, who created a website which allows users to detect if an artist's work has been used in AI models, as well as a tool that allows artists to easily opt out of training datasets. 'This one is particularly poetic to me because I think everyone is panicking over this issue,' Grimes noted. 'The world is so focused on what's negative that we don't realize there's magic solutions right in front of our very eyes.' 'Tech has a bad habit of not canonizing its heroes and, as of late, the world has a bad habit of not celebrating its wins,' she said. 'There are a lot of people trying to save the world right now, and I believe they are succeeding.' The TIME100 AI Impact Awards Dubai was presented by the World Government Summit and the Museum of the Future. Write to Simmone Shah at
