CET wins laurels at drone development competition

The College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram (CET) has clinched national attention with a stellar performance at the Autonomous Drone Development Challenge 2025 organised by the Society of Automotive Engineers India Southern Section in Chennai recently. Competing against 60 teams from across the country, the college team AEROCET secured the 10th rank overall nationally and first rank in the best technical design report category. It also topped the All Kerala rankings. The challenge tested teams on their ability to design autonomous drones capable of navigating complex missions. Teams were tasked with scanning QR codes to reveal critical data and subsequently delivering fragile payloads safely onto the QR code base. Team AEROCET engineered a high-performance drone capable of following pre-planned routes, detecting and processing mission-critical cues, and executing precise payload deliveries, a press note said.
