Barbara Walters doc revisits savage interviews with Taylor Swift, Trump, the Kardashians and more

A new Hulu documentary is revisiting Barbara Walters' most scathing interviews throughout her decades-long career. In a sneak peek trailer for 'Barbara Walters Tell Me Everything', released Wednesday, celebrities like Taylor Swift, the Kardashians and now-President Trump appear in footage highlighting the late broadcast journalist's most memorable sit downs. At one point, Walters can be seen telling Swift, 'I know you don't want to talk about guys, and I won't push it, but how are you going to find anybody?' Other scenes show the intrepid journalist savagely pointing out to the Kardashian family that they 'don't really act,' 'sing,' 'dance' or 'have any talent' — and calling out Trump for his widely perceived lack of 'humility.' Elsewhere in the teaser, the documentary even re-explores the time Walters asked Courtney Love if she had ever done 'drugs in front of [her] child.' The singer shares daughter Frances Bean, now 32, with late ex Kurt Cobain. 'No one ever got out totally unscathed,' Walters' former ABC News colleague, Cynthia McFadden, said in a confessional interview. 'She asked the question that nobody else had asked,' Oprah Winfrey added. 'And asked it in a way that always hit a nerve.' The scene then cuts to a clip of the 'Color Purple' star, 71, being reduced to tears due to Walter's tense interview style. The pioneering journalist, who collected many legendary accolades throughout her 50-year career, died at age 93 in December 2022. But her voice lives on in the upcoming documentary, as throwback footage plays of Walters looking back on her own legacy in the media prior to her death. As the first woman to ever anchor the evening news on a major network, she didn't attribute her success to her good looks. 'I was never beautiful,' she said in the clip. 'If I had been a dog, I mean, maybe they wouldn't have put me on television. But, I mean, nobody ever put me on because I was beautiful or glamorous.' Instead, Disney CEO Robert Iger credited Walters' enterprising 'vision' as the impetus that propelled her career. 'She had a vision that celebrities are news, and she turned out to be right. They were newsmakers,' Iger, 74, shared. 'Whether it was her looks or her voice, just the fact that she was a woman, there were people that just didn't believe in her and she loved proving them wrong,' he continued. 'Her job was the love of her life.' 'Barbara Walters Tell Me Everything' begins streaming June 23 on Hulu. Taraji P. Henson Expresses Frustration Over Hollywood's Gender Pay Gap, Busts Myth That Black Projects Don't Sell Overseas

Taraji P. Henson expressed her frustration over gender pay disparity in the Hollywood industry. The actress marked her presence at the Cannes Film Festival alongside Lacey L. Smith, the founder of the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative. While in conversation with the media portal at the event held in the French Riviera, Henson revealed that she felt 'discouraged' by the TV and film industry and went on to relocate to Bali. The Color Purple star shed light on the constant struggles she has faced due to her being a woman of color. In talks with the media portal, the actress shared that due to a lack of prominent roles, she could not serve herself, the audience, or even the characters she played onscreen. The What Men Want star revealed, 'I was just frustrated and it was making me bitter, and I'm not a bitter person.' She continued to state, 'I made a promise to myself if I ever got there, then it's time to walk away. I'm not serving myself or the audience or the characters I play. Thank god I did that. I came back refreshed and with a new perspective.' The actress went on to state that sometimes the industry is all about trophies and awards, but she never wanted to get into all of it. She claimed that she stepped into the world of acting to change lives and with the art and skill she had, she was saved. Further in her talks with the outlet, the Empire star shared, 'I was a little Black girl in the hood in D.C. during the crack epidemic. I'm supposed to be a statistic. I wasn't supposed to make it out but I did.' Her fellow, Smith, also added to the conversation. She noted that 54% of the films made in the industry were women-centric, and yet only 13% of them were women of color. Henson confirmed that she has spent years being graceful while getting paid less in Hollywood.

Halle Bailey gets sole custody of son Halo after restraining order against ex DDG over alleged abuse

Halle Bailey has been granted the sole physical and legal custody of her 16-month-old son, Halo, after filing for a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend DDG, Page Six reported. On Tuesday, the Little Mermaid star sought sole custody of her child, alleging that the rapper had attacked her several times following their October 2024 breakup. Bailey requested that she maintain sole custody of Halo, whom she shares with DDG, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr, in the future. In the court documents obtained by the outlet, the 25-year-old explained that she filed the restraining order without giving notice because she 'was afraid that the violence would reoccur.' Meanwhile, the Color Purple star alleged in her restraining order filing that 'Daryl has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me. I am seeking orders to protect myself and our son Halo from his ongoing abuse,' per AP. Also Read: DDG put his hands on Halle Bailey? Halle Bailey 'granted temporary sole custody of son' after DDG abuse allegations

Halle Bailey has reportedly been granted temporary sole physical and legal custody of her son. The 25-year-old singer and actress - who had also been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex DDG (real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) - will have their 16-month-old son in her care until a June 4 court hearing after accusing the rapper of domestic abuse. According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Bailey claimed she filed for sole custody without notifying DDG because she was "afraid that the violence would reoccur" and that "the other party would take the children out of the area". It comes after the 'Little Mermaid' star was also granted a temporary retraining order. Under the temps of the protection order, DDG must stay at least 100 yards away from Bailey and their son, which includes her home and vehicle. The YouTube and Twitch star is also banned from personally contacting her, while he isn't allowed any visitation with Halo until "further order of the court". Just over six months after they announced their split, PEOPLE learned via legal documents that Bailey has accused him of various kinds of abuse. In documents obtained by the outlet, she alleged: "I realize that there is no placating Darryl. I cannot allow this abuse any longer. "Whenever he wishes to cause upset, he starts badmouthing me to his several millions of fans. "He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men. As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media. He seems to try to set up drama for his fans. "He goes 'live' ranting about me and alleges that I am keeping Halo from him. This is false. I have requested a set schedule, which he refuses." The 'Color Purple' star included photographic evidence with her request, which included pictures of her bearing a chipped front tooth and a large bruise on her bicep.
