Halle Bailey 'granted temporary sole custody of son' after DDG abuse allegations
The 25-year-old singer and actress - who had also been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex DDG (real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) - will have their 16-month-old son in her care until a June 4 court hearing after accusing the rapper of domestic abuse.
According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Bailey claimed she filed for sole custody without notifying DDG because she was "afraid that the violence would reoccur" and that "the other party would take the children out of the area".
It comes after the 'Little Mermaid' star was also granted a temporary retraining order.
Under the temps of the protection order, DDG must stay at least 100 yards away from Bailey and their son, which includes her home and vehicle.
The YouTube and Twitch star is also banned from personally contacting her, while he isn't allowed any visitation with Halo until "further order of the court".
Just over six months after they announced their split, PEOPLE learned via legal documents that Bailey has accused him of various kinds of abuse.
In documents obtained by the outlet, she alleged: "I realize that there is no placating Darryl. I cannot allow this abuse any longer.
"Whenever he wishes to cause upset, he starts badmouthing me to his several millions of fans.
"He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men. As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media. He seems to try to set up drama for his fans.
"He goes 'live' ranting about me and alleges that I am keeping Halo from him. This is false. I have requested a set schedule, which he refuses."
The 'Color Purple' star included photographic evidence with her request, which included pictures of her bearing a chipped front tooth and a large bruise on her bicep.

'Internet culture is changing the English language and the effect is fascinating to observe and capture in the dictionary,' said Cambridge Dictionary's Lexical Programme Manager Colin McIntosh. 'It's not every day you get to see words like 'skibidi' and 'delulu' make their way into the Cambridge Dictionary. We only add words where we think they'll have staying power.' Other new entries include 'lewk', a stylised spelling of 'look' used to describe an unusual or impressive outfit, popularised by RuPaul's Drag Race. 'Broligarchy', another blended term, has also been added. As many may recall, the film's two main stars were also embroiled in a big controversy around the time of the Disney movie's release. Insiders noted that Gadot, 40, and Rachel Zegler clashed while making the movie due to them having 'nothing in common.' A source also told People that their 'huge age gap' and 'very different political views' only added to the tension on set. Zegler, 24, has been an outspoken supporter of Palestine throughout the Israel-Hamas war.
