A man is assisting police after a woman was stabbed to death on Sunday afternoon in a small rural Queensland village. Police arrived at a house at Creekside Esplanade in Cooloola Cove, 220km north of Brisbane, at 7.15pm on Sunday to find a woman in her 50s stabbed. She was treated at the scene but died from her injuries. The Cooloola Cove area is home to about 3,000 people and the stabbing occurred in a residential estate just 100m from the town's shopping centre. On Monday, forensic police were seen at the home where the incident occurred. A man in his 50s was assisting police with their inquiries.
