Lady Gaga Sets Record for Highest Attended Concert by Female Artist with Copacabana Beach Show

The post Lady Gaga Sets Record for Highest Attended Concert by Female Artist with Copacabana Beach Show appeared first on Consequence. Lady Gaga made history with her concert at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil on Saturday night. With an estimated 2.5 million fans in attendance, the singer set a new mark for the highest attended concert by a female artist in history. Dubbed 'Mayhem on the Beach,' the free concert was part of Brasil's Todo Mundo no Rio initiative, which aims to transform Copacabana Beach into a premier stage for major international music events. Gaga's appearance transpired due to Madonna's own 2024 performance at the venue, which previously held the record for the largest concert by a female artist, drawing an estimated 1.6 million attendees. Gaga easily topped Madge's crowd, drawing 2.5 million attendees, according to promoters on the ground. Get Lady Gaga Tickets Here At the show, Gaga herself acknowledged the magnitude of the evening. 'Your spirit may be heard around the world tonight. 2.5 million people!' she said onstage. Later in the night, she added, 'Tonight, we're making history. Thank you for making history with me… The people of Brasil are the reason why I can shine.' The show also marked Gaga's first time performing in Brasil since her 'Born This Way Ball' tour in 2012. She was previously forced to cancel a 2017 appearance at Rock in Rio after being hospitalized for severe pain. Find our full recap of the show here. With this show, her recent Mexican dates, and her headlining slot at Coachella 2025 all under her belt, Gaga will continue with her 'Mayhem Ball' tour, which will officially kick off on July 16th in Las Vegas, followed by dates in Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, and across Europe.
