Cow milk, co-branded products, and new booths launched under Delhi Milk Scheme
New Delhi [India], August 14 (ANI): The Delhi Milk Scheme (DMS) marked a significant milestone with the launch of new dairy products and the distribution of booth allotment letters at a special event at the NASC Complex, Pusa, New Delhi, according to a release from Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying. The event was attended by Alka Upadhyaya, Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD) and other senior officials of the department. The occasion celebrated the digital launch and unveiling of the Cow Milk and co-branded dairy products, a step forward in strengthening dairy quality, enhancing consumer trust and empowering livestock farmers. As part of the initiative, 22 new booth allotment letters were handed over to selected applicants under the DMS, creating new employment opportunities and strengthening the rural-urban dairy her keynote address, Alka Upadhyaya, Secretary, DAHD shared the vision for reinforcing the dairy ecosystem through improved product offerings and inclusive opportunities for stakeholders across the value chain. Further, Secretary, DAHD lauded the efforts of DMS and Haryana Milk Federation for launching of their new products in the market, according to the release. Varsha Joshi, Additional Secretary DAHD, highlighted the importance of DMS brand of milk and dairy products for Delhi NCR and the advancement of DMS now with the introduction of new products in the event was also attended by Rama Shankar Sinha, Additional Secretary DAHD, Jagat Hazarika, Advisor DAHD, Ram Avtar Garg, Chairman, Vita of Haryana Dairy Development Co-Operative Federation Ltd., senior officials, stakeholders from the dairy sector and beneficiaries of the booth allotment scheme, the release added. Bad news for consumers as Amul milk prices hiked by Rs...; check new prices here
(File) Amul Milk Price Hike: Amul milk prices have been hiked by Rs 2 per litre, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) said in an official release on Wednesday. As per the statement, the price rise will come into effect from May 1, 2025 (Thursday), and will affect all variants of Amul milk sold across the country. The GCMMF, which owns the Amul dairy brand, cited an increase in input costs in production as the reason behind the Amul milk price rise, and asserted that a Rs 2/litre hike roughly translates into a range of 3-4 per cent hike in MRP (maximum retail price) which is much lower than average food inflation. 'GCMMF, the marketer of milk and milk products under the brand name of Amul, has increased the prices of fresh pouch milk by Rs 2 per litre effective from May 1, 2025, in all markets across the country,' said the Anand, Gujarat-based federation which markets dairy products under the popular 'Amul' brand. Amul Milk Prices According to the statement, after the hike comes into effect from Thursday, a 500ml pouch of Amul Gold milk will be available for Rs 34, while one litre pouch of the same brand will cost Rs 67 in Gujarat. A 500ml pouch of 'Shakti' variant will now cost 31 in Gujarat, while a 500ml pouch of Cow Milk will be available for Rs 29. One litre pouch of Buffalo Milk pouch will cost Rs 73, while one litre of 'Taaza' pouch will be sold for Rs 55 from May 1, the federation said while pointing out that it has not increased prices of fresh pouch milk since June 2024. 'This price hike is being done due to an increase in input costs of production of milk to our 36 lakh milk producers. Our member unions have also increased farmers prices in the same proportion over the last one year,' it said. (With inputs from agencies)

Amul Hikes Milk Prices By Rs 2 Per Litre Across All Variants In India
Ahmedabad: Prices of Amul milk across variants in the country will be raised by Rs 2 per litre with effect from May 1 (Thursday), the marketing federation which owns the dairy brand announced on Wednesday, citing an increase in input costs in the production of the commodity. The increase of Rs 2 per litre translates into a range of 3-4 per cent hike in MRP (maximum retail price), which is much lower than average food inflation, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) said in a release. The Anand, Gujarat, headquartered federation markets dairy products under the popular 'Amul' brand. "GCMMF, the marketer of milk and milk products under the brand name of Amul, has increased the prices of fresh pouch milk by Rs 2 per litre effective from May 1, 2025, in all markets across the country," said the federation. The federation pointed out it has not increased the prices of fresh pouch milk since June 2024. "This price hike is being done due to an increase in input costs of production of milk to our 36 lakh milk producers. Our member unions have also increased farmers' prices in the same proportion over the last year," said the release.
