Satellite Tolling Faces Security Review Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that ahigh-level committee set up to explore the rollout of a satellite-based highway toll collection system has recommended further deliberations on security and privacy concerns. CIFNET invites applications for Vessel Navigator, Marine Fitter courses
The Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training (CIFNET) has invited applications for admission into trade courses—'Vessel Navigator' and 'Marine Fitter'— offered in Visakhapatnam. Formulated by the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, New Delhi, under Craftsman Training Scheme(CTS) of National Council for Vocational Training(NCVT), the courses will be of two years and are fully residential. The CIFNET has a hostel facility for trainees in Visakhapatnam, according to Hrushikesh Bisoyi, Deputy Director, CIFNET, Visakhapatnam. The selection will be based on a national-level Common Entrance Test (CET) in English, mathematics and general science. The selected candidates will be paid a stipend of ₹1,500 a month. On successful completion of training, the candidates will be gaining academic and practical experience in the specialised subjects like Fishing Gear Material, Accessories and Design Elementary Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture and Ship Construction, Fishing Technique, Marine Fisheries, Fish Processing and Fish Finding Equipment, Practical Navigation, Machine Drawing, Hydraulics and Deck Machineries, Fishing Technology, Seamanship and Navigation, Heat Engines and Refrigeration. On successful completion of the training, participants can choose their career on board fishing vessels or shore establishments, dealing fishing gear manufacturing maintenance and shore workshops. The onboard training will be an opportunity to acquire Sea Service for COC (Certificate of Competency) examination to opt for careers in the marine fisheries sector. Prospectus and Application form can be downloaded from the CIFNET website: on payment of a fee of ₹350 for general/OBC candidates and ₹175 for SC/ST candidates through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Pay and Accounts Officer, Kochi payable at Ernakulam. The filled-in application form, along with the necessary documents like copies of mark sheets(SSLC/HSC), valid community certificate, in case of SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS and original Demand Draft (DD), must be sent to The Director, CIFNET, Fine Arts Avenue, Fore Shore Road, Kochi-682016 by June 16.

Registration for ITI admission begins
Pune: The process for admission to the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) for the academic year 2025-26 has commenced. The online application process started on Thursday, 15 May 2025. The submission of options for the first round will begin on 26 May. The detailed schedule for admission will be announced on the website after the option process for the first round begins on 26 May. The central online admission process is being conducted for admissions under the Craftsman Training Scheme for the August 2025 session. Free guidance sessions for candidates will be held in every govt and private ITI from Thursday, 15 May, onwards between 10 am and 11 am. Information about the admission method, rules, and technical details about the admission website will be available. The application fee is Rs 100 for reserved categories and Rs 150 for general categories. Candidates from outside Maharashtra will have a fee of Rs 300, and non-resident Indian candidates will have a fee of Rs 500. All ITIs are application acceptance centres. Online application filling, verification, and acceptance will be done there. It is mandatory to register a mobile number in the application; only one application per number is allowed. After filling in the primary information, the candidate's admission account registration number will be the user ID. Under the "Admission Activities" heading, the application form must be filled out. After paying the fee and before finalising the application, candidates can make changes to the information in the application. Following this, the document verification process for students must be completed.
