Crime of Week: Man robs car salesman at gunpoint, steals pickup in West El Paso
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Police and Crime Stoppers of El Paso want your help in finding a man who robbed a car salesman at gunpoint and stole a pickup truck back in May in West El Paso.
This is this week's 'Crime of the Week,' as publicized by Crime Stoppers of El Paso.
At 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, the victim — a car salesman for Car Lots LLC — agreed to meet the suspect, who posed as a potential buyer, Crime Stoppers said.
The victim drove to an apartment complex at 500 Rubin Dr., where the suspect test drove the 2019 black 4-door Chevrolet Silverado with the victim.
After returning to the parking lot of the apartments, the suspect pulled out a gun, threatened the victim, and ordered him out of the truck, Crime Stoppers said.
The suspect fled with the truck valued at $19,800. The suspect is a Hispanic male, late teens to early 20s, with a medium complexion, a slight mustache, and an average build, Crime Stoppers said.
