Second man (20s) arrested following serious assault in Dublin

Another man was rushed to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital for treatment of serious injuries following the incident on Eden Quay A second man has been arrested after another man suffered serious injuries in an assault near Rosie Hackett Bridge in Dublin on Monday afternoon. Gardaí from the Crime Unit at Store Street arrested the man, in his 20s, during an operation in the Dublin City Centre area this morning. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region. A man had been rushed to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital for treatment of serious injuries following the incident on Eden Quay at approximately 4.30pm. The Rosie Hackett Bridge in Dublin. Stock image News in 90 June 4th Earlier today, a man in his 30s, who had been arrested by gardai investigating the incident was charged. He was scheduled to appear before Court 1 at the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses. Any person who may have been in the vicinity of Rosie Hackett Bridge, Eden Quay, Dublin 1, on Monday, June 2, between 4pm and 5pm is asked to come forward. Gardaí are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have information about any of these incidents or any mobile phone footage recorded at the relevant locations. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí. According to police, the fire took place on Saturday morning at around 8:30 on Crestview Drive in Middlesex Centre. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The fire has been deemed suspicious, and the Middlesex OPP Crime Unit is investigating alongside the Office of the Fire Marshal. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Police make arrest in death of toddler in Gravenhurst

Police in Bracebridge arrested two suspects connected to the death of a two-year-old child in Gravenhurst. On January 5, 2023 just before 8 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police and emergency crews responded to a call for a toddler with significant injuries at a home on Brown Street. The toddler was taken to a hospital and succumbed to their injuries just two days later. On Tuesday, a 24-year-old of Brampton was arrested and charged with second degree murder. One day later, a 33-year-old of Gravenhurst was arrested and charged with failing to provide necessaries of life. The accused duo remanded in custody and appeared before the Bracebridge courts. A publication ban has been issued and as a result, the OPP will not be able to release further information. The Muskoka OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with the assistance of OPP Forensic Identification Services and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
