Trump mistakenly refers to secretary Kristi Noem as Cristie Kerr
"I want to recognize several members of the task force, including our great Vice President JD Vance. JD, thank you very much. Thank you. Our equally great Attorney General Pam Bondi. Pam, thank you very much, Pam. Secretary of Homeland Security Cristie Kerr," he said. Trump then quickly corrected himself. "Cristie Kerr, do you know who Cristie Kerr is?" he said, as Vance and others on stage laughed. "She's a friend of mine. Great golfer." "Kristi Noem, she's a better golfer than you, that's the only thing," Trump added. "But you're better at a lot of other things, but I want to thank you for being here, and for doing an unbelievable job." Noem smiled throughout the moment. This isn't the first time Trump has mixed up names. When he ran for president in 2024, he confused former Republican South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, while discussing the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack. Trump is the oldest president to be sworn into office, and has often mocked former President Joe Biden, 82, over his age throughout the 2024 campaign and to this day. Questions about Biden's health have come to the forefront in recent months after several books detailed his alleged declining cognitive and physical activity. In April, White House physician Sean Barbabella released a memo highlighting the results of Trump's annual physical examination. Barbabella wrote that Trump "exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health and is fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State."

Trump confuses Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem with pro-golfer Cristie Kerr
WASHINGTON - President Donald Trump appeared to mistakenly refer to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem as professional golfer Cristie Kerr while he was thanking members of his Cabinet at a press conference on Aug. 5. The flub occurred before the 79-year-old Trump signed an executive order to create a White House task force that will handle operations and security for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles. He acknowledged members of the task force, including Noem who was present at the briefing. 'I want to recognize several members of the task force, including our great Vice President JD Vance. JD, thank you very much. Thank you. Our equally great Attorney General Pam Bondi. Pam, thank you very much, Pam. Secretary of Homeland Security Cristie Kerr,' he said. Trump then quickly corrected himself. 'Cristie Kerr, do you know who Cristie Kerr is?' he said, as Vance and others on stage laughed. 'She's a friend of mine. Great golfer.' 'Kristi Noem, she's a better golfer than you, that's the only thing,' Trump added. 'But you're better at a lot of other things, but I want to thank you for being here, and for doing an unbelievable job.' Noem smiled throughout the moment. Donald Trump Calls Top Cabinet Member By Wrong Name, While She's Standing Right There
President Donald Trump on Tuesday confused his Homeland Security Secretary, Kristi Noem, with a professional golfer ― while Noem was just feet away. The gaffe occurred as Trump ― reading from a list ― introduced some of his top officials amid the signing of an executive order establishing a task force for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. 'Secretary of Homeland Security Cristie Kerr,' Trump said, mistakenly referring to the LPGA golfer instead of Noem. The president, an avid golfer himself, quickly caught the slip. 'It says Cristie Kerr. Do you know who Cristie Kerr is? She's a friend of mine. Great golfer,' he added, before correcting himself: 'Kristi Noem.' Trump then told Noem: 'She's a better golfer than you, that's the only thing. But you're better at a lot of other things. But I want to thank you for being here and for doing an unbelievable job.' Noem laughed and appeared to mime a golf putt in response. Cristie Kerr, notably, is not part of the Olympics task force. She continues to play on the LPGA Tour. Noem previously served as South Dakota governor and once killed her own pet dog. Related... Cristie Kerr, 47, wins for the first time in eight years at LPGA Legends Championship
Cristie Kerr hoisted a trophy for the first time in eight years this weekend at the LPGA Legends Championship. The two-time major winner and former No. 1 celebrated in style on husband Erik Stevens' 60th birthday. 'It's been a long time since I won a tournament, and it's never easy to win on any tour. To have my friends and family here, and to be able to get my first win in front of my youngest son, Griffin … I'll take it to the grave,' said Kerr, who won 20 times on the LPGA. 'It is just so special. My other friends and family that spent the entire week of their time with us to come out and support, it was really worth it. It was amazing.' Kerr's closing 70 at the Copper Rock Golf Course in Hurricane, Utah, put her at 6 under for the tournament and two strokes clear of the field. Former LPGA player Moira Dunn-Bohls finished second while Maria McBride placed solo third at 3 under. Last year, Kerr finished runner-up to Angela Stanford at the LPGA Legends Championship, three back. Kerr, 47, recently played on the Epson Tour close to home in Scottsdale and finished 10th with her husband on the bag. She also played in the LPGA's Arizona stop – the Ford Championship – this spring, where she missed the cut. 'I don't play full-time on tour anymore," said Kerr, "and I said if I wanted to have a chance here and also at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, that I needed to get more reps and made myself do it. Got a top 10 at the Carlisle Arizona Women's Golf Classic in Scottsdale, where I live, with my husband on the bag, so it's been a pretty good couple of weeks.'
