Jean Smart Reveals Shocking Wardrobe Mistake She Made While Meeting Son's College Counselor: 'Can't Imagine What He Thought'
During a June 2 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jean Smart recalled a fashion faux pas that she made while meeting with her son's college counselor She said that she wore a pair of pants, which she later realized featured embroidered images of "a naked woman" and a "bong" Smart shares two sons with her late husband Richard Gilliland — Connor, 35, and Forrest, 16Jean Smart accidentally made a funny fashion statement when she met with her son's college counselor. During a Monday, June 2, appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the 73-year-old Hacks star opened up about making a bit of a faux pas when she got dressed for the meeting, which all centered around her pants. "I bought this pair of white pants the other day, and they had kind of this green, kind of embroidered vine or something. I thought they were kind of pretty and really comfy," she told Stephen Colbert. Her story continued: "I wore them to my son's school to meet the college counselor and later, I really looked at them, and I went, 'Oh. That's a marijuana plant with a naked woman on one leg. And on the other thigh was a bong.' " "I can't imagine what he thought," Smart admitted with a laugh, with Colbert replying that he probably thought she was a "cool mom." Although she didn't specify, it seems likely that she was referring to her younger son Forrest, who she adopted with late husband Richard Gilliland in May 2009. Smart and Richard are also parents to Connor, who was born in 1989. Richard died at the age of 71 in March 2021, and Smart has been parenting her sons on her own since. Speaking to PEOPLE in 2022, she described her experience as "the hardest thing [she's] ever done." However, she has always been quick to praise her sons, telling PEOPLE that "they take very good care of [her]" in September 2023. "My oldest son lives with us right now. He's been helping me a lot since we lost his dad, and so it's been very nice to have him around," she said. "I don't know how single working mothers do it. I really truly don't!" Speaking to Glamour in 2024, she also recalled adopted Forrest, saying that she and her husband "were just so besotted" the moment that they got to hold him. 'My youngest is just an amazing person," she gushed. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Forrest is also one of his mom's biggest fans. At the 2022 Critics Choice Awards, he stressed how much Smart deserved to take home awards. "She's working like 13, 16 hours a day, every Monday through Friday," he said about his mom. "The one time she got a day off since December, she decided to spend it with me." He continued, saying, "She works really hard for, like, everything. So I think it's good. I'm glad she's nominated because I like these award shows." That year, she took home the award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on Hacks. Read the original article on People

Major US comedian reveals they're coming to Scotland – and looking for love
The popular US personality comes to Glasgow next month. ON THE PROWL Major US comedian reveals they're coming to Scotland – and looking for love CHELSEA Handler is feeling 50 and flirty – as she looks to land herself a Scottish fella. The popular US TV presenter admits she'll be on the prowl when she arrives in Glasgow next month after celebrating the milestone birthday. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 2 Chelsea is bringing her tour to Scotland. 2 She's hoping to find herself a Scottish fella. Credit: Getty She's never been married or had children, despite high profile romances with the likes of rapper 50 Cent and comedian Jo Koy. But the comic, who lives in Los Angeles, hopes to show other ladies that age is just a number when performing her stand up show An Abroad Broad. She said: 'I've got to find myself a husband. This is an audition for any international men who want to marry me and take me. 'I need someone to take me from America. I'm down for whatever. I am an open book, I don't discriminate. I'm an egalitarian across the board.' Chelsea, who skied down a mountain in a bikini to celebrate her birthday, added: 'I'm reclaiming 50. It looks pretty good on me. So I'm going to go with that and encourage other women to also embrace it. 'Don't reject our ageing, it's part of who we are. And there's really nothing you can do about it, so you might as well get on board with it and have a great attitude. 'I need a guy with great dental hygiene. And I don't want to see anyone in flip-flops. Hopefully, it's too early in the year in Scotland for people to be wearing those. 'But someone who's honest, someone who is strong emotionally and can handle a woman like me. And they have to have a job.' Chelsea started her career on reality TV after stints on programmes like Girls Behaving Badly. She later became a regular commentator on popular US channel E! In 2007, she landed her own late-night E! comedy series, Chelsea Lately, which ran for seven years. Chelsea Handler throws major shade at ex Jo Koy at Critics Choice Awards She was even serenaded by Scots 300 star Gerard Butler, 55, in the final episode. Meanwhile, she's pals with Glasgow-born Craig Ferguson, 62, who, like her, became a famous chat show host in America. A sitcom called Are You There, Chelsea? was based on Handler's 2008 best-selling book Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea. She also filmed a more serious documentary series for Netflix titled Chelsea Does, which covered topics including marriage, racism and drugs. She's written six books that have been No1 on the New York Times Best Seller List, with I'll Have What She's Having released earlier this year. And her third Netflix stand-up special The Feeling earned rave reviews. The comedian is excited to get back to her roots in Scotland and hopes to prove she's a woman of many talents — and a master of all. She said: 'It's a lot about travelling with my family and my relationships with them. A lot of mishaps that have happened on vacations — the family members who have gotten cut from going on vacations with me. 'I've decided to start editing those family members down. I haven't married my brother's wife and my sister's husband so why am I so connected to them? 'After 25 years of family vacations, I've decided to put my foot down and only go on vacation with people I actually want to go on vacation with. 'So there's a lot of family drama stories that will inspire many others on how to handle their own vacations and dramas. There's a funny story about me falling out of a helicopter, one about me taking my dog to Spain and giving him Xanax. There's a lot to choose from.' Chelsea added: 'I do my podcast Dear Chelsea — I love that because I get to talk to real people. They call in for advice and it's been great giving advice to people who call in about life problems. 'I love getting involved in people's drama, and I love sharing whatever I'm going through with everybody. I'm very honest about what I'm sharing. 'If I'm going through good stuff, I share that. And if I'm going through bad stuff, I share that. I'm not afraid to embarrass myself or talk about my affinity for disastrous situations. 'My modus operandi with regard to any sort of creative outlet I have is that I don't take myself too seriously. Be proud. You don't have to apologise for living in a loud, brave way. I encourage everyone to try it.' A regular on the US tour circuit, Chelsea is looking forward to the culture shock of performing all over Europe this time. She hopes her first visit to Scotland in more than two decades brings lots of laughs and becomes one of her favourite gigs. She said: 'I'm really excited about spending time in all these places. I haven't done a European tour in years. 'Some nights, you can have more fun with an audience than on other nights — like you might do a lot more improv. It just depends on the vibes that night. 'Every city is different and it brings great joy to me to have strangers sitting next to each other in an audience, who don't know each other but are hysterically laughing together and grabbing onto each other out of hysteria. That is why I do what I do.' But above all else, Chelsea hopes to make a Scottish gentleman laugh so much that he falls in love with her. She joked: 'You definitely want to bop around. I'm going to all these fun places so I definitely want to check them out. 'They have me on a pretty tight schedule, but I have a few days off here and there. 'So I'm going to take advantage of those. I'm going to spend some extra time in Edinburgh this year. So I get to go to both Glasgow and Edinburgh this time, which is very exciting. 'The thicker the accent the better, as then there could maybe be a little bit of a language barrier. And that usually works to my advantage too.' Chelsea's An Abroad Broad tour comes to Glasgow's Pavilion Theatre on May 25 and tickets can be purchased at

Angelina Jolie's Stunning Nude Gown Steals The Show At Cannes
Angelina Jolie, the godmother of the Trophée Chopard Award at this year's Cannes Film Festival, made a stunning debut on the red carpet this evening. Jolie stepped out for the premiere of Eddington in a shimmering nude gown by Brunello Cucinelli, adorned with delicate embellishments. She completed the look with a diamond necklace and matching earrings, wearing her blonde hair down in a soft side part. FIND OUT MORE ON ELLE COLLECTIVE Jolie will be presenting the Trophée Chopard Award to Marie Colomb and Finn Bennett. She posed with them and Chopard co-president and artistic director Caroline Scheufele on the red carpet: Scheufele spoke glowingly of Jolie's appointment to the godmother role, telling WWD, 'I am so happy to welcome Angelina Jolie as our Trophée Chopard Godmother. Her amazing film career and dedication to making a difference in the world make her an ideal role model. I know the rising talents we honour this year will be inspired by her journey and advice.' Jolie added, 'I am honoured to be Godmother at the Cannes Film Festival. I am pleased to have a moment to recognise young artists and their exceptional work.' Jolie will mentor Colomb and Bennett through the year. This is Jolie's first big red carpet appearance since the Critics Choice Awards in February. The star spoke to W magazine at the start of the year about whether she always wanted to be an actress. 'I did it in the beginning because it was my mother's dream,' she said. 'She pursued acting, but by the time my mom was 25, she was divorced with two kids and she decided to focus her life solely on motherhood. She didn't make me feel like it was a sacrifice—she loved being a stay-at-home mom. But she really wanted me to be an actress. I don't remember making the choice. I remember it made my mom happy. My mom was my manager, and we were a team. I always wanted to buy her a house, and I started to pay the bills. When my mom passed, it was harder for me to be an actress because I realized how much of it was for her.' ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. I feel very squeezed, it's been a hurricane: Actor Richard Gadd on Baby Reindeer's success
Actor Richard Gadd says the success of 'Baby Reindeer' sometimes feels like an "intolerable pressure" on him, as he believes the show gained fame too early and blew up too fast, reported Variety. Richard Gadd says the success of ' Baby Reindeer ' sometimes feels like an "intolerable pressure" on him, as he believes the show gained fame too early and blew up too fast, reported Variety. In a recent sit-down with The Guardian , Gadd said the fame he's earned from his breakout Netflix limited series has been, at times, too much to handle, reported Variety. Gadd opened up about the success of the show Baby Reindeer and said, "There have been a lot of challenging moments. The show has reached such an extreme pitch - there have been times when I've felt like the pressure was intolerable. It's been a hurricane. I don't think I'm at the point of reflection yet. I need some real time off to figure out how to get my feet back on ground, because I feel very squeezed," as quoted by Variety. According to the outlet, Gadd's semi-autobiographical 'Baby Reindeer,' has earned six Emmys , two BAFTAs, two Golden Globes and two Critics Choice Awards. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Cost Of Amusement Park Equipment From Mexico Might Surprise You Amusement Park Equipment | search ads Click Here Undo Gadd added that part of the pressure is due to the show blowing up so fast. He said it only took a couple of days post-release for the hype around him and the show to start, reported Variety. "It came out on a Thursday, and by Sunday people were knocking on my door asking for autographs. I was an arthouse comedian, performing to five people every night, so it was a huge adjustment. I'm still getting used to it. Going to the supermarket comes with a million caveats now," said Gadd as quoted by Variety. Gadd's next project, " Half Man ," is a six-part HBO and BBC drama set to launch in 2026. The official logline for the series reads, as quoted by Variety, "When Niall's estranged 'brother' Ruben shows up at his wedding, it leads to an explosion of violence that catapults us back through their lives. Spanning almost forty years from the 1980s to the present day, this ambitious series will cover the highs and lows of the brothers' relationship, from them meeting as teenagers to their falling out as adults - with all the good, bad, terrible, funny, angry, and challenging moments along the way. It will capture the wild energy of a changing city - a changing world, even - and try to get to the bottom of the difficult question... What does it mean to be a man?" The series was a major hit at last year's Emmy Awards. Baby Reindeer clinched the prestigious award for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, marking a major achievement for the show. Richard Gadd, who not only stars in but also created the series, was honoured with Emmys for both Best Actor and Best Writer.
