SUV Or Lounge On Wheels? Toyota's X-Van Gear Concept Set To Hit Roads In October 2025
Last Updated:
The Cross Van is expected to offer two engine choices: a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Dynamic Force petrol engine and a 1.8-litre hybrid version paired with an electric motor.
Toyota's futuristic X-Van Gear Concept, first seen at the Japan Mobility Show in 2023, is finally headed for production.
According to reports from Japanese magazine Motor-Fan, the production version will be called the Toyota Cross Van and could launch as early as October 2025.
Expected to be priced around 3 million yen (approx. Rs 17.2 Lakhs or $20,000), the Cross Van is designed to blend the boldness of an SUV with the practicality of a people mover, as per Motor Fan.
Design
The Cross Van will measure 4,695 mm long, 1,820 mm wide, and 1,855 mm tall, offering a strong road presence. It will comfortably seat six people across three rows, with smart space-saving innovations like a swivelling front seat and a fold-down second row that doubles up as a table.
The absence of B-pillars allows for easy entry and exit, while the flexible interior turns the vehicle into a perfect companion for long drives, camping, or just lounging in style.
Toyota plans to offer the Cross Van with two engine options:
Both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions are likely.
India Launch
Toyota even showcased the X-Van Concept at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 earlier this year, hinting that it could also make its way to Indian roads, as per Team BHP.
