A 'mature,' 18+ circus is setting up shop in St. Cloud

Anything circus-related has an element of horror to it, even if you're not coulrophobic. However, Cirque Italia is ratcheting up the horror angle with "Paranormal Cirque," a new production heading to St. Cloud in May. The group says the "mature" performance combines theater, (animal-free) circus, and cabaret "with a new European-style flare." Cirque Italia says its paranormal showcase features innovative horror performances geared toward a "mature audience," with spectacles that include the Wheel of Death, magic, acrobatics, and monstrous creatures. The run in St. Cloud begins May 23 and runs through May 26 under a white and black big top tent in the parking lot of the Crossroads Mall at 4101 West Division St. Tickets start at $10. Any attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Police: No evidence of bomb after Portage mall evacuated for threat

PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — An unsubstantiated bomb threat cleared a Portage mall Monday night, according to police. The Crossroads Mall in Portage was evacuated for a bomb threat, according to the Portage Department of Public Safety. The Build-A-Bear store inside the mall was the target of the threat, officers said. The call to report the bomb threat, which came in around 6:45 p.m., had been transferred to Portage police from Michigan State University Police. PDPS Director Nicholas Armold said it was most likely a swatting call. Police searched the mall with a bomb-sniffing K-9 unit but did not find evidence of a bomb, according to Armold. Since the mall was in the process of closing at the time, it remained closed for the night, he said. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
