You Should Watch This Perfect 100% Scored Netflix Show This Week
Netflix At this point it's well-established that Netflix is doing good work with a lot of its animated productions, and many of them, from Arcane to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, are some of the highest scored series on the entire service. But one show can often get overlooked because it's not adapting a big video game. That would be Blood of Zeus, which will return for its third season on Thursday, May 8 this week. Why should you bother with an animated series based on Greek Mythology? Well, how about the fact that it's really, really good. Both seasons of Blood of Zeus have a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, something we almost never see in the entire scope of Netflix content. It also has a 92% audience score with a 97% just for season 2, so many fans are expecting something similar out of season 3. Blood of Zeus Here's the synopsis for Blood of Zeus: If the animation looks familiar, it's because it's the same place that did Castlevania on Netflix, Powerhouse Animation Studio, still doing work on Castlevania Nocturne as well. And if you've seen either Castlevania, you know how good that animation is. This is in fact the final season of Blood of Zeus, ending on its own terms. That means when season 3 airs this week, you'll be able to binge the entire series, which is about four hours per season of eight, half hour episodes. You can't say that about all that many shows on Netflix at this point. Blood of Zeus is a unique Netflix production as it's not an adaptation of anything, but rather an original work created by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides for Netflix specifically. They did once say they were going to shoot for five seasons, but ultimately it was condensed into two. There are at least some echoes of the ultra-hyper violent God of War, the famed video game series, and that is getting a live-action adaptation on Amazon Prime Video down the road. But God of War certainly does not have a monopoly on Greek Mythology (just ask Christopher Nolan). Blood of Zeus I would highly recommend Blood of Zeus even if I haven't seen season 3 in advance. The level of quality has been stellar and it's nice to watch something fully original for a change. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Bluesky and Instagram. A New Disappointing Update About ‘Solo Leveling' Season 3
Solo Leveling Solo Leveling is one of the most popular animes in recent memory, but one thing about the series has been confusing. Why isn't season 3 confirmed yet? What's going on there? All we are getting are hints about the 'hopes' for season 3, but with a new update, that appears to be all they are still, hopes. In a Deadline interview with Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini, which airs the show, he was asked about season 3 plans for Solo Leveling, and his answer is at least somewhat disconcerting: 'We hope so,' Purini said. 'The creators want to work on lot of shows. Anime is really popular, so there's a lot of demand, and so we have to find the right time to get started on the next season.' It's unclear why the creators wouldn't immediately prioritize a new season of Solo Leveling due to its stunning popularity, but nothing seems to be worked out yet, and the fact they they are still in the stage of 'figuring out the right time to get started' means that season 3 is apparently nowhere right now, and it will be a wildly larger gap than we saw between seasons 1 and 2. At least 2-3 years from here, it would seem. Solo Leveling FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder This reluctance extends back a few months which Solo Leveling animation producer Atsuhi Kaneko said that Solo Leveling 'may or may not' continue from there, despite an obvious cliffhanger and loads of source material to adapt. Whatever's going on here, Solo Leveling has been such a hit that it's changing the core of Crunchyroll development. Back to Purini and the Deadline interview: 'It definitely makes us want to take more experiments. Ghost of Tsushima is an example. It is a game IP that we know gaming fans love, and that's one of the reasons we want to bring it to anime; to see if we can recreate that same phenomenon.' Ghost of Tsushima is the critically-acclaimed Sony video game that has a sequel out, Ghost of Yotei, in October of this year. Many video game animated series have found themselves performing extremely well, but mostly over on Netflix, from Arcane to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners to Castlevania. Though I think expecting a Ghost of Tsushima anime to come close to something like Solo Leveling will not be realistic. It really is not clear about why Solo Leveling season 3 feels this up in the air. Even juggling projects, even with anime development taking a while, this show is so big it should be a priority for everyone over everything else. Hopefully we'll get some actually good news soon, but like season 3, that may too be far away. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Bluesky and Instagram. Jeddah communication conference explores anime's digital evolution
RIYADH: The eighth session of the Digital Communication Conference, titled 'Anime in the Digital Space,' explored the transformation of Japanese anime over the past two decades, highlighting the impact of digital innovation and the internet. According to Saudi Press Agency, the session focused on anime's shift from traditional television broadcasts and DVDs to digital platforms, including live streaming, instant subtitling and cloud-based production. Streaming giants such as Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Funimation were highlighted as pivotal players in the transition, offering translated or dubbed episodes immediately upon release and funding original series such as 'Devilman Crybaby' and 'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.' Speakers in the session, including Manga Productions CEO Essam Bukhary, said that social media and online forums have opened the door to unprecedented engagement among fans, as well as community and cultural interaction, since audiences now take part in evaluating episodes. Concerns were raised that heavy dependence on technology could erode the handcrafted aesthetic that defines traditional anime. Saudi Arabia's burgeoning interest in manga and anime, which dates back to the 1970s, is helping to usher in a revolution in cultural production. Japanese art forms have captivated audiences of all ages, gaining significant popularity in recent years. Their ability to combine entertainment, culture and education has made them of great interest to Saudi society. To support this interest, the General Entertainment Authority has hosted events like the Saudi Anime Expo, drawing international visitors. In line with these efforts, the ministries of culture and education launched the Manga Education program to nurture student talent, as well as integrate arts and culture into public education.

From controller to screen: 5 TV shows adapted from video games to watch
The Last of Us Above The trailer for season two of 'The Last of Us' A true-to-source reimagination of the two games, The Last of Us accurately follows the storyline from start to finish—albeit with a few creative liberties. The chemistry between lead actors Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey during their whimsical moments and serious, life-threatening experience make for a great watch that affirms and immerses previous players of the games while introducing those who came in blind with a heartfelt (and heartracing) story. As the show's second season runs with new episodes weekly, it's exciting to see how they approach some of the pivotal points in Ellie's quest for revenge. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Above The official trailer for 'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners' From the animation studio that brought fan favourite anime such as Kill La Kill and Star Wars: Visions , Cyberpunk: Edgerunners takes viewers to Night City—a dystopia plagued by crime, corruption, and cybernetic addiction. The show takes place around a year before the events of the mainline video game, Cyberpunk 2077, and follows David Martinez as he tries to survive as a mercenary. See also: How 'Black Mirror' Season 7 questions your reality, then breaks your heart The Cuphead Show! Above The trailer for 'The Cuphead Show!' A slapstick comedy harbouring a 1930s art style, The Cuphead Show! follows the misadventures of two brothers, Cuphead and Mugman. Throughout the series, fans of the game will be able to spot multiple villains from the source material, making for fun easter egg hunts and moments of hilarity as more context is given to each character. While the game uses traditional hand-drawn cel animation, the TV series, unfortunately, does not due to streaming deadlines. However, the animation quality is still one of the best in the genre, making for a wacky experience that stays true to the plot's atmosphere. Devil May Cry Above The trailer for 'Devil May Cry' (2025) anime Animated by South Korean studio Studio Mir, which brought the likes of The Legend of Korra and The Boondocks to television, the 2025 Devil May Cry anime is an adaptation of the mainline games. The show follows legendary demon hunter-for-hire, Dante, as he fights a powerful demon invading Earth. With over-the-top action sequences worthy of the character, it's a fun watch if you want to see good animation quality. However, longtime fans may notice several inconsistencies with the story—oftentimes breaking established events in favour of a new narrative.
