Gino D'Acampo makes controversial remarks in live radio interview after ITV axe

The former This Morning star, 48, was chopped from ITV programming at the end of last year after facing a string of claims of sexually inappropriate and intimidating behaviour made against him. These included reports that while he worked on his food-focused travel show with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix he 'quizzed a producer about her sex life and thrust his crotch at another female staffer.' The allegations stem from dozens of people over a 12-year period across various shows. D'Acampo has 'firmly denied' the 'deeply upsetting' claims. In his first radio interview since these allegations have come to light, D'Acampo appeared on Maltese radio station Vibe FM where he delivered several lewd remarks to the female presenter Nicole. During the discussion he started quizzing Nicole on why she diets to which Nicole responded that she was trying to build up her abs. D'Acampo then said: ''Only dogs like bones. A real man, he wants the meat, you know, the things to grab. Don't get too skinny, otherwise it's like, no.' Elsewhere, he said: 'I'm going to tell you a secret, Italian food is like Italian men, minimum effort, maximum satisfaction,' which elicited raucous laughter. He then addressed Nicole, asking: 'Now do you understand that Nicole, or do I need to explain that?' to which she replied: 'I think it was very clear.' At one point he also told her she was 'too pretty for radio'. And when asked if he recognised one of the male guests in the studio joked whether he knew his mum before adding: 'Did I take your mama out for dinner or something? 'I meet a lot of people and usually the ones I remember are blonde, they're tall – we do an activity together.' The innuendo-filled radio interview comes after the Italian celebrity chef teased his comeback to TV on social media at the end of March. He shared a series of snaps of himself behind the camera dressed up in a navy boiler suit in a garage. More Trending Then, last week, he shared more footage from his work behind the camera on a new show with the caption: 'Back in action! And this time I am behind the camera. Can you guess what famous southern Italian bread we are baking?' The ITV presenter has seen support from the likes of Celebrity Juice star Leigh Francis aka Keith Lemon, John Barrowman and former This Morning co-star Josie Gibson who have all liked recent posts. In a full statement to MailOnline, D'Acampo said: 'I have been completely shocked by, and deny utterly, these awful accusations of sexual harassment and misconduct against me, which are alleged to have taken place years ago during the shooting of Gordon, Gino & Fred. 'Let me be clear: This did not happen. I take such matters extremely seriously and in particular the suggestion that I have deliberately acted in this improper way against any female employees is deeply upsetting.' Got a story? Gino D'Acampo makes crass remarks in radio interview as he returns to limelight
Former ITV chef Gino D'Acampo has been caught making sexualised comments about women's bodies during a radio appearance on Vibe FM in Malta. The Italian star told show hosts that a "real man" wants women to have "things to grab", while explaining that he prefers a curvier figure. This was one of his first public engagements since he was axed by ITV this February after the broadcaster received complaints about his "unacceptable" treatment of staff he had worked alongside for over 12 years. D'Acampo has denied all the allegations, calling them "deeply upsetting".

Gino d'Acampo shares return to set on new project
Gino D'Acampo has revealed he is making his TV return after sharing photos on set in Ireland. The Italian chef, 48, is making a comeback to screens after he denied a string of claims that he made sexualised comments and gestures to female employees behind the scenes of his popular programmes. ITV News reported dozens of former staff and freelancers detailed 'unacceptable', 'distressing' and 'horrendous' experiences while working with D'Acampo over a period of more than 12 years. Taking to Instagram recently, D'Acampo unveiled his return to TV, sharing a photo of him dressed as a car mechanic in overalls with dirt on his face. 'What a fantastic experience in Ireland working on a new series,' he wrote alongside the behind-the-scenes images. 'I can't wait for you guys to see it… p.s Happy St Patrick's Day.' D'Acampo's fans were quick to support his latest project in the Instagram comments. 'Anything with Gino in it I am so down to watch,' one person wrote. Meanwhile, another fan added: 'Can't wait to see you back on our screens.' Claims against the TV chef include one woman who alleged that she saw the This Morning regular appear to threaten a colleague over an ice cream. 'I was present when Gino said to the runner, 'If you don't get me a Cornetto, I will f*** your girlfriend',' she said. 'I felt appalled, disgusted, embarrassed and very angry.' Another female crew member told ITV News he was 'using his power to bully and intimidate us. For what? A cookery programme'. Someone else claimed that on a magazine shoot in 2011, D'Acampo told her in front of the crew that he wanted to turn her over and 'f*** me up the a***'. Speaking to ITV News, she recalled 'a ripple of laughs' from people present, but said that nobody objected to the comment, although she felt 'horror' and 'shock'. 'I definitely saw it as some kind of power play,' she said. 'The very act of what he said was aggressive. I felt like Gino, in that moment, was very entitled and he felt very safe.' D'Acampo has seen his shows removed from ITV schedules as a result of the accusations against him, which he has strongly denied. The TV chef's legal team said at the time: 'Mr D'Acampo categorically denies these allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviour.'

Gordon Ramsay breaks silence on Gino D'Acampo allegations after claims he turned back on co-star
Gordon Ramsay has finally commented on the subject of Gino D'Acampo in the wake of allegations of 'unacceptable' behaviour. The TV chef has found himself at the centre of a firestorm after ITV News reported dozens of allegations against him, describing 'distressing' and 'horrendous' actions over a 12-year period. He has strongly denied all wrongdoing and was reportedly furious with his Road Trip co-star Ramsay for allegedly 'orchestrating a smear campaign' against him. Ramsay, who hosted the ITV travel series alongside D'Acampo and First Dates star Fred Sirieix from 2018 to 2023, has now addressed the subject for the first time, telling The Standard: 'I have reached out to Gino, checked in to make sure he and the family were doing OK. Fred too.' D'Acampo is said to have been blindsided after reports alleged that Ramsay, whom he co-hosted travel series Road Trip with alongside Fred Sirieix, voiced concerns about his alleged behaviour behind the scenes. 'There has been a lot coming out about his time with Gordon Ramsay and it is very anti-Gino,' a source close to the star told MailOnline. 'One minute they are working together and the best of friends. Then he leaves the Road Trip series and he is basically finished within a couple of years.' D'Acampo has been dropped by ITV – but the source said he 'feels hard done by' due to claims the channel encouraged him to cultivate a 'cheeky chappie' persona on shows, including daytime series This Morning. 'Gino was told to behave as he did, in that naughty boy manner,' a source told MailOnline. 'This is what he can't get his head around and he will be making that clear when he thinks it's time to speak out. He would be on Family Fortunes making cheeky jokes. 'There were incidents on This Morning in front of the cameras – such as when he kissed presenter Ruth [Langsford] in 2011 – which ITV and its viewers loved.' D'Acampo has denied claims that he made sexualised comments and gestures to female employees behind the scenes of his popular programmes. He said last month: 'I have never been made aware of these matters previously and the allegations are firmly denied. I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone. This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me. 'Not only have these allegations never been raised with me before, I have been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level and was commissioned on prime-time programmes during the period in which it is now suggested I was acting inappropriately. 'I take such matters extremely seriously and the suggestion that I have acted in an improper way against is deeply upsetting.'
