What Is Paraguay's Temporary Residency Temporary residency in Paraguay allows you to work, stay, and invest in the country for two years. The best part - you can extend it, and this residency will open a pathway for you to get a permanent residency, for which you can apply after 21 months of residing in the country. People who show that they have enough financial means, or plan to start a business or practise a profession, or meet specific visa requirements, are eligible for a temporary residency in Paraguay. You don't need an investment for this visa. Freelancers, remote workers, entrepreneurs, and retirees can also apply for a Paraguay Temporary Residency. Documents Required While there is no specific rule for applying for a Paraguay residency, you need to have all the documents for it, including: A valid passport Entry visa or passport stamp Apostilled birth certificate Clean criminal record from your home country Marriage certificate or divorce, or death certificate Proof of financial solvency All documents must be translated into Spanish by a certified translator. How To Apply Step 1: Check your eligibility and prepare the documents. Step 2: Enter the country on a tourist visa. You will have to be physically present in Paraguay to apply for the residency. Step 3: Fill out the application once you are in the country at the immigration office or Direccion General de Migraciones (DGM). Step 4: Obtain local Paraguayan documents, including: An interpol certificate Paraguayan police clearance Registration card from the national police Certification of life and residence - this is to show that you have a place of residence in Paraguay Temporary Residency card Temporary Residency certificate Step 5: Submit your application at DGM and apply for the official fees, which is usually around USD 380 (Rs 33,202 approximately). This is the government fee for the application; the total cost may be higher as you have to pay lawyer fees, document translation fee, etc. Step 6: You will then receive the residency application receipt, which will allow you to apply for a temporary Paraguayan ID card (cedula). Step 7: Apply for a temporary Paraguayan ID and wait for approval, which takes about 3-6 months. You can get the visa renewed before it expires if you continue to meet the requirements. It is also a pathway to apply for permanent residency after 21 months of living in Paraguay. Also, while temporary residency does not require you to stay in Paraguay at all times, you must not be away for more than 12 or more consecutive months.

Citizens are advised to remain cautious as thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds are expected in some regions, while other areas will experience record-high temperatures. The DGM issued an orange-level alert for Friday afternoon and evening in several Moroccan provinces. Khenifra, Khouribga, Settat, Youssoufia, Al Haouz, Marrakech, and Rehamna should prepare for thunderstorms with hail and gusty winds producing rainfall between 15 and 30 millimeters. Residents in these areas are urged to take precautions and avoid exposure during the stormy hours. At the same time, soaring temperatures will affect a broad range of provinces. On Friday, Ouezzane, Taounate, Sidi Kacem, Moulay Yacoub, Fez, Settat, Beni Mellal, Khouribga, Fquih Ben Salah, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Rehamna, Chichaoua, Marrakech, Youssoufia, Taroudant, and Guelmim are expected to see highs between 42 and 46 °C. Meanwhile, southern provinces such as Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Boujdour, Aousserd, and Oued Ed-Dahab will face even more extreme temperatures, ranging from 44 to 47 °C, and this heat will persist until Monday. The weekend will continue with intense heat across multiple regions. On Saturday and Sunday, temperatures between 43 and 47 °C are forecast for Ouezzane, Larache, Kenitra, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Fquih Ben Salah, Settat, Rehamna, Marrakech, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, and Taroudant. Other provinces and cities, including Tanger-Assilah, Chefchaouen, Meknes, Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, Khemisset, Sale, Khouribga, Khenifra, Settat, Benslimane, Sidi Bennour, Youssoufia, Safi, Essaouira, Chichaoua, Al Haouz, and Guelmim, will record temperatures ranging from 40 to 44 °C. From Sunday to Monday, northern and eastern provinces, including Fahs-Anjra, Tetouan, Al Hoceima, Oujda-Angad, Berkane, Taourirt, Guercif, Taza, Nador, and Driouch will experience highs between 39 and 44 °C. On Monday, these same highs are also expected in a large number of provinces across the central and southern regions. The DGM reminds people should avoid outdoor activities during the hottest hours or when storms approach, stay hydrated, and follow local alerts for any changes in conditions. Such appearances are becoming more common for Morocco. Morocco has faced intense heat in recent days, with several regions recording temperatures well above seasonal norms. Cities from the coast to the interior have sweltered under relentless sun, and forecasts suggest the scorching conditions may persist, adding strain to daily life and raising concerns over health and safety. At the end of June, Ben Guerir, Kenitra, and Taroudant all exceeded 45°C, while Smara reached 46.9°C the following day, edging past Marrakech and Ben Guerir. Moreover, temperatures ranging from 44 to 48°C are anticipated from Friday through Tuesday in the provinces of Tata, Taroudant, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour, and Aousserd. The heatwave will intensify from Saturday to Sunday, with temperatures between 44 and 48°C affecting the provinces of Laâyoune, Tarfaya, Tan-Tan, and Guelmim, as highlighted by the DGM. Additionally, temperatures between 42 and 46°C will be recorded from Saturday to Tuesday in the provinces of Fquih Ben Salah, Beni Mellal, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Rehamna, Settat, Chichaoua, Marrakech, Youssoufia, Azilal, Al Haouz, Essaouira, Sidi Bennour, Safi, Inezgane-Aït Melloul, Chtouka-Aït Baha, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Tiznit, and Sidi Ifni. From Sunday to Tuesday, the provinces of Ouezzane, Larache, Kénitra, Fès, Meknès, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Khémisset, Khouribga, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Benslimane, Berrechid, and El Jadida will face temperatures ranging from 42 to 46°C. Meanwhile, temperatures between 39 and 42°C are expected in the provinces of Salé, Skhirate-Témara, Médiouna, Nouaceur, Khénifra, Sefrou, Taza, and El Hajeb during the same period. On Monday, the provinces of Laâyoune, Tarfaya, Tan-Tan, and Guelmim will experience temperatures between 40 and 44°C. Additionally, thunderstorms with hail and gusty winds (15 to 30 mm) are forecasted on Friday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the provinces of Ifrane, Boulemane, Khénifra, and Midelt, concludes the DGM.
