Anger over big queues for Clubland event at Glasgow's Hydro
Thousands of fans headed to the OVO arena for the Clubland show, which they dubbed "the biggest night of your life". However, some punters were left seething as it took them "hours" to get inside the venue. The star-studded night opened with GBX anthems courtesy of Clyde 1's George Bowie and featured huge names like DJ Basshunter and noughties dance icon Cascada. But some fans might have missed the Glasgow DJ's set as they were stranded outside. One who had travelled miles fumed: "I travelled from Manchester to an absolute shambles. Shame on you, OVO. What we did get to see of the Clubland sets were fantastic, like always. Can you bring Ben Nicky to Manchester next year, please?!! AO is a lot more organised." Thousands of dance music fans headed to the Hydro for the Clubland Live show (Image: Facebook/OVO Hydro) Another raged: "Amazing night, when we eventually got in at 20.45, even though we arrived in plenty of time. It was an absolute joke how long it took to let people in. "Paid to see all the show, not half of it!" Felt like I was at an underground kids disco." However, others rushed to share their praise for the night: "It was absolutely brilliant, thank you for a fab night." And George Bowie enjoyed his set, posting on Facebook, he said: "The Clubland Events team absolutely smashed OVO Hydro last night, even Billy Gillies (Music) made a surprise appearance. What a night, getting to open the show with a GBX set and then perform the Whiskey Roll remix with Cammy Barnes & Outforce to 10,000 ravers was a moment to treasure forever." "There were some challenges at the Clubland event with a small number of people, which meant it took our security team a little longer than usual to carry out all the necessary checks. "We apologise to anyone who was affected.' The tour now heads to Aberdeen this coming weekend. They'll play the P&J Live Arena on Friday, May 9.

And the "three-hour action-packed show" promised ticketholders a chance to "relive the classic tunes in a party atmosphere". But hundreds of revellers were left sorely disappointed after having to queue up for two hours and missing some of the gig. Doors opened at 6.30pm, with the event scheduled to start at 7 pm and end at 10.30pm. But scores of raging fans claimed they did not enter the venue until several hours after it began. Dozens of peeved-off concertgoers took to social media to share their frustration at the 'terrible' management of the event. One angry attendee wrote: "Well went to clubland at the Hydro in Glasgow. Organised f****** chaos, couldn't organise a p*** up in a brewery. Doors opened at 6.30pm, concerts starts at 7pm, and we are still outside at 7.55pm. F*** that. Home time. We were told we'd be another hour to get in." Another said: "It was terrible, we arrived at 6.20pm and never got in till 8.20pm. Missed half the show. People were being sick in the queue and peeing in cups." A third added: "It was ridiculous! Nearly two hours we waited and got in just after 8 and that was only because we went round to the other side to queue. No organisation of queues and overall it was a shambles." Meanwhile, other ravers told how they had a 'great time' at the show.
