CBSE cluster III TT tourney begins

1 2 Bokaro: The CBSE Cluster-III Table Tennis Tournament 2025 commenced with a grand opening ceremony at the Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro, on Sunday. The three-day tournament witnessed the participation of 41 teams from 18 schools across Jharkhand and Bihar. The opening ceremony, held at the Ashwaghosh Kala Kshetra, was marked by a cultural programme, a well-coordinated march-past and an oath-taking ceremony. The event was inaugurated by district sports officer Hemlata Bunn, CBSE-appointed observer Asim Priyadarshi, DPS Bokaro principal, A S Gangwar, who is also president of the tournament organising committee, along with international referee and chief referee of the tournament, Sandeep Saha. Addressing the gathering, Hemlata Bunn emphasised the importance of sports in shaping a student's personality and promoting mental and physical well-being. CBSE observer Asim Priyadarshi appreciated the increasing interest in table tennis among students despite cricket's overwhelming popularity. Gangwar welcomed all teams and highlighted the tournament as a platform for confidence-building and national-level exposure. The cultural segment included a welcome song and a classical Ganesh Vandana dance performance. "Over 50 matches were played on the first day. In the Under-17 girls' category, Jusco School, Kadma, secured gold by defeating Vivek Vidyalaya, Jamshedpur, 3-0. DPS Bokaro earned silver with a 3-0 win over Guru Nanak High School, Ranchi," Gangwar said. On Monday, the Under-19 and Under-14 boys teams featuring top schools from Patna, Giridih, Ranchi and Hazaribag will play the semifinals. 70 students clear test from Bokaro

Bokaro: Over 70 students from Bokaro cracked the NEET-UG, 2025. DPS Bokaro led with over 25 students while Chinmaya Vidyalaya followed with over 15, including Tanisha who scored AIR-3106. Guru Gobind Singh Public School announced 10 qualifiers, including Falak Naaz Khan and Aditya Sharma. Sree Ayyappa Public School said 11 of its students were successful. DPS Bokaro students explore state's ' Paitkar Art ' Delhi Public School, Bokaro, on Saturday, organised 'Chitranjali', a hands-on art workshop that invited students to step into the world of 'Paitkar' painting. 350 loco pilots trained in disaster management At the electric loco pilot training centre, 350 trainee loco pilots received disaster management training from the railway civil defence team.
