Coronation Street fans 'in tears' as Daisy Midgeley leaves in soap's most 'iconic exit'

Coronation Street fans have been left in tears as Daisy Midgeley said goodbye to the cobbles in an 'iconic' exit - with fans hailing it as one of the soaps best exits in a while Coronation Street fans were left in tears after Friday night's episode, as the soap said goodbye to Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) after five years on the cobbles. Daisy's exit came just as she was taking revenge on stepmother Jenny Connor, Sally's character, over some money she had gained from shares given to her by Daisy's dad. She kept the £60k windfall from Daisy at a time that they were both in debt to Carla Connor, sparking a revenge plan. ‌ During tonight's episode, Jenny was seen trying to persuade Daisy to say, as she responded: "It's only Brighton, to start with anyway." Daisy then went on to say her emotional goodbyes to Ryan Connor and Bertie and Daniel Osbourne. ‌ Towards the end of the episode, Jenny and Christina came to the realisation that Daisy had left Weatherfield with Jenny's money that she thought she was investing in catfisher Dom. "I didn't think she had it in her," her mother Christina laughed. Jenny was then seen in tears running after the taxi, as she rang Daisy in tears screaming: "I should report you to the police! No one would blame me!" Daisy's voice was then heard reading a letter to some of the residents, including Bernie and Daniel as she bought them tickets to Disneyland Paris, as the song Movin' On Up was heard playing in the background. The character was then seen checking flights from Manchester to Bali at the back of the taxi, as she put her sunglasses on, telling the driver to "turn it up," as fans hailed the exit "iconic". ‌ Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, after watching the show, one fan penned: "but let's actually acknowledge that this is the best exit corrie has done in a longgg time!! gorgeous episode with such emotive scenes, daisy will be missed for sure #corrie," while a second agreed: "Need Daisy to have her own spin off show. Iconic final scene from ar diva… you don't realise what you have till it's gone." "Daisy Midgeley, what an iconic exit!! Still fuming they got rid of her," exclaimed a third fan, while another said: "omg that Daisy exit was actually so sooo good, especially that closing scene to Primal Scream Movin' On Up - obsessed #Corrie." A fifth emotional fan simply wrote: "I love you Daisy Midgeley," along with a crying emoji. However, fans may be able to wipe their tears soon, as Charlotte revealed the door had been left open for her. She hinted she could be back, suggesting it wasn't a "forever" farewell. She said: "It's a very special building, and I have loved it. And it's just goodbye for now, not goodbye forever." Charlotte also talked about her final day on set and filming her last ever scenes.

Coronation Street fans shocked to discover 'real' accent of ITV soap star

Coronation Street fans have been shocked to discover the real voice of an actor who has been featuring on the show for five years. Charlotte Jordan plays the character of Daisy Midgeley and has been involved in the ITV soap since 2020. However, it was only after appearing for an interview on This Morning today (Wednesday, April 30) that Corrie fans discovered what her real voice was. Jordan speaks with a northern accent on the show but has a southern accent in real life, having been born in Chobham, Surrey. This fact about her was news to some Corrie fans, who took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to comment on it, Devon Live reports. One person wrote: "I didn't expect Daisy to sound like that! Great northern accent". Another said: "She suits the Manc accent that she acts with", while another was simply astounded: "Her voice? ! #thismorning." The character of Daisy Midgeley will be departing from Corrie very soon, and Jordan praised the team behind the soap. She said: "When I said: 'I think it's time for me to go', I was fully prepared for them to sort of run me over. Fair enough! "I was very very grateful that they've left the door open and said if I'd like to come back, I can, so very sweet." The 30-year-old had spoken earlier in the month about her final day on set, revealing that she cried a lot. She shared: "My last scene was with the beautiful Rob Mallard [who plays the character of Daniel Osbourne], and we were meant to cry in the scene – but we were both dry as a bone. As soon as they yelled our final 'cut', we both burst into tears. Typical. Corrie beauty Charlotte Jordan has quit the cobbles - the most recent in a string of blows to hit the ITV hit soap in the last month Charlotte filmed her final scenes earlier this month which will see her character Daisy make an exit later this spring in the back of a cab. A source said 'No-one ever wants to leave in the back of a cab but that's exactly what's happening with Charlotte. "They're not killing her off but she leaves after burning all her bridges with step-mum Jenny Bradley.' Charlotte recently told The Sun: 'I think it's very bittersweet for Daisy." "Weatherfield has been her home for a while now and, early on, was giving her all the things she wanted – family, community, stability, people to love more than she perhaps loves herself – but it's also been the source of so much trauma for her. "Kate has been so supportive about me wanting to go back out into the audition circuit and very generous with Daisy's exit story, as she really wanted to do the character justice. "And I can't tell you how much fun the other cast members and I had playing out this last hurrah." 5 The 29-year-old will be phased out of the soap in the next few months Credit: Getty

ITV Coronation Street star left 'medically dehydrated' on final day after heartbreaking exit

Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan has shared her final scenes as Daisy Midgeley are set to air next week, revealing the emotional toll her heartbreaking exit had on her. Coronation Street's Charlotte Jordan, who plays Daisy Midgeley, was left in tears for four hours on her last day of filming. The 29-year-old actress wasn't the only one shedding tears; her imminent departure had her co-stars crying throughout the day. Her continuous crying resulted in her being "dry as a bone" during her final scene. ‌ After almost five years playing Daisy, she will be leaving the show in just a few days. Whether she is fleeing or not, there were no dry eyes on set during Charlotte's last day and those 'emotional' final scenes. She confessed: "I'm not a big crier. But let me tell you, I cried on and off for about four hours straight. My last scene was with the beautiful Rob Mallard, and we were meant to cry in the scene – but we were both dry as a bone. "As soon as they yelled our final cut, we both burst into tears. Typical." Her colleagues and co-stars made an extra effort to "make it so special" for her, while also mourning the end of her time on the show, reports the Mirror. Charlotte Jordan, who has been a familiar face on Coronation Street, shared her emotional last moments on set: "The Corrie gang made it so special for me. The canteen made me my favourite lunch – which made me cry. The art department drew me a beautiful card – which made me cry. I would look over to Channique [Sterling-Brown] or Julia [Goulding] or Sal [Sally Ann Matthews] during our last lunch break and see them crying – which made me cry. I think I was medically dehydrated by the end of the day." ‌ As fans grapple with the news of her departure announced earlier this year, Charlotte has opened up about the reasons behind her leaving and what's in store for her character Daisy as she makes her exit from Weatherfield in upcoming episodes. She expressed her gratitude for her time on the show, saying: "I'm feeling really grateful for my years on the show and the people I've gotten to work with. Kate [Brooks] has been so supportive about me wanting to go back out into the audition circuit and very generous with Daisy's exit story, as she really wanted to do the character justice." ‌ She also revealed the fun she had with fellow cast members during her final scenes: "And I can't tell you how much fun the other cast members and I had playing out this last hurrah." However, Charlotte admitted that Daisy's departure is "bittersweet" as the character is "running from her heartache" and will leave "destruction" in her wake. ‌ Charlotte further explained the complexity of Daisy's feelings towards leaving: "I think it's very bittersweet for Daisy. Weatherfield has been her home for a while now and, early on, was giving her all the things she wanted – family, community, stability, people to love more than she perhaps loves herself – but it's also been the source of so much trauma for her. ". Charlotte stated: "I think we've watched her slowly try to pick up the pieces since her stalking storyline, but she's ultimately realised she doesn't need to stay in a place that's caused her so much heartbreak. And it's just as well she's running far away to the other side of the planet, as she's left a mountain of destruction and angry people in her wake!". ‌ But for those wondering if this is the last we'll see of Daisy, there's a glimmer of hope. Charlotte hinted: "It's a very special building, and I have loved it. And it's just goodbye for now, not goodbye forever." As for the anticipated happy ending between Daisy and Daniel Osbourne, expect heartbreak instead. Charlotte divulged: "I think they'll both be each other's 'what if' love story. I think we'll all be mourning what could have been." She continued, revealing Daisy's inner conflict about her actions affecting Jenny and Daniel: "I think she also knows, deep down, that if Daniel were fully aware of what she's about to do to Jenny, he wouldn't be willing to let it slide and continue to stand by her side. So it's almost like she's cutting him loose before she can see how disappointed in her he'll be." Finally, Charlotte teased intense upcoming scenes leading up to Daisy's departure, with drama and betrayal at the forefront as Daisy's mother Christina targets Jenny: "Daisy knows exactly what her mother is like. "She keeps giving Christina these chances to step up and be there for her and every time Christina throws it back in her face. She wants to believe Christina can change, but I think she's more mad at herself for continuing to allow Christina to hurt her – when Daisy knows that's all she's ever done. But unfortunately for Christina, you reap what you sow, and no one can manipulate and backstab quite like our Daisy!".
