Friday will be mainly sunny and hot. The days that follow? No so much...
Friday should be warmer than Thursday, and Thursday was already pretty warm! It's expected to cool off again over the weekend, though, especially Sunday. One more day of sun and heat before things cool and the rain returns on the weekend. Friday will be mainly sunny, with a high of 28 C. The clouds will creep in later in the day, and it will be breezy at times. Late Friday in Calgary, there is a small chance of showers or thunderstorms. danielle weather / july 31, 2025 On the weekend in the city, expect on-and-off rain, heavy at times. We will likely pick up 15 millimetres of rain (Friday night through Sunday). Temperatures will cool, too. After another 30 mm, it looks like the rain will start to taper off late Tuesday afternoon
We are looking at adding another 30 millimetres of rain Monday night through Tuesday in YYC. The rain will start to taper off late Tuesday afternoon. We have certainly had a lot of rain this month. Here are some numbers for perspective: The average amount of rain for July in Calgary is 65.7 millimetres; As of 5 p.m. on Monday (July 21), we have had 101.8 millimetres; and We are looking at adding another 30 millimetres Monday night through Tuesday in YYC. The rain will start to taper off late Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday also comes with cooler temperatures (we will struggle to get into the double digits), and a cold wind gusting out of the north at 40 km/h. danielle weather / july 21, 2025 Brighter and warmer days arrive for Wednesday and Thursday. You might get wet on Saturday, but the weather system changes as of Sunday
The current weather system should ease after Saturday, with a mainly sunny, stable, dry, hot stretch starting Sunday, continuing into Canada Day Tuesday. Saturday comes with sunshine for the morning and early afternoon, but by 1 p.m., the chance of showers and thunderstorms will arrive again. Warming trend will get us back to more normal high temperatures, and beyond
Wednesday, we'll get back to a more normal high temperature. Thursday, we'll start an eight-day stretch of daytime highs in the 20s (at least). The warming trend will start to kick in on Wednesday. We will get back to a more normal high of 19 C. A change is coming: A week of warmer weather will follow this cooler stretch
We won't find Tuesday to be much different than Monday, but the change starts Wednesday, and then we head into a seven-day stretch of warmer weather. Tuesday will be a lot like Monday—below-normal temperatures, a cool wind out of the north, isolated showers possible (especially in the afternoon) and the chance of late-day, non-severe thunderstorms. danielle weather / june 2, 2025 A ridge of high pressure will start to build in on Wednesday. This will drop our chance of precipitation down to 30 per cent, but temperatures will be back to normal for Wednesday. The return to the 20s arrives by Thursday.
