Krysten Ritter Officially Returning as Jessica Jones for ‘Daredevil: Born Again' Season 2
Krysten Ritter is officially back as hard-fighting, hard-drinking Marvel hero Jessica Jones. The announcement was made during Disney's upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on Tuesday. Ritter took the stage with Charlie Cox, star of 'Daredevil Born Again,' to reveal that she would be joining that show for its second season. 'I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!' Ritter first played Jones in the self-titled Netflix series that debuted in 2015. 'Jessica Jones' was one of five Marvel shows to air on Netflix, along with 'Daredevil,' 'Luke Cage,' 'Iron First,' 'The Punisher,' and the crossover series 'The Defenders.' 'Jessica Jones' ultimately aired for three seasons, with its final Netflix season airing in 2019. It was canceled, along with all the other Marvel-Netflix shows, when Disney initiated plans to air Marvel Cinematic Universe shows on Disney+. Ritter received widespread praise for her portrayal of the character, who has super strength and the ability to fly. After a brief but failed stint as a superhero, Jones began working as a private investigator in New York. As Variety reported at the time, part of the Netflix-Marvel deal included a provision which prevented the characters featured in the shows from appearing in any non-Netflix series or film for at least two years after cancellation. Disney has already begun bringing the characters back, with 'Daredevil: Born Again' starring Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio debuting on Disney+ in March 2025. Jon Bernthal also returned in that show as Frank Castle, a.k.a The Punisher, with Season 2 of 'Born Again' already in the works. Krysten Ritter Comments on Returning as Jessica Jones in DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN and There's "Much More in Store" — GeekTyrant
Yesterday, news broke that Krysten Ritter is officially returning as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Ritter has since commented on the big announcement, saying: "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU. I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!" I love that Ritter is joining the fold, and now we have two Defenders down, with two to go… Mike Colter's Luke Cage and Finn Jones' Iron Fist, but I could do with out Jones' version of Iron Fist. Who know if those characters will even return. I hope that Ritter's involvement in the next season will involve a decent sized and meaningful story arc, maybe something that leads to a Jessica Jones Marvel Special Presentation, like Jon Bernthal got for The Piunisher. The character is just a interesting, unique and one of the more complex and compelling heroes Marvel TV ever gave us, and she deserves the spotlight. As Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 gears up for its March 2026 premiere, we'll be watching closely for more news. Source: Variety

Charlie Cox's parents accidentally watched Ben Affleck's Daredevil: ‘Doesn't even look like you'
Actor Charlie Cox recently revealed that there was a hilarious snafu at his home when he tried to teach his parents how to navigate Disney+. On Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actor said that his parents had a hilarious reaction after watching Ben Affleck's Daredevil instead of his new web series, Daredevil: Born Again. (Also Read: Daredevil Born Again review: The Devil of Hell's Kitchen is here to remind MCU what excellent storytelling looks like) Charlie joked on the show that figuring out their account on the platform was a 'bit of an ordeal' because he doesn't live with them. He said that he gave them instructions on how to navigate and watch his show on FaceTime, resulting in a comedy of errors. He said after he finally helped them set up the account, he called for their feedback and they first said, 'They said, yeah no, yeah, good. Very good. Quite similar to the original show from…and I went, what? How?' And they said, well, you know, the bit with the backstory and your dad.' Turns out his parents had re-watched the old show which ran on Netflix instead of the new one. When he asked them to head to Disney+ and call him after watching it, they hilariously called him 20 minutes later, saying, 'This can't be right! I was like, what? And he goes, doesn't even look like you! I'm like, right, that is Ben Affleck.' The third time was the charm, and his parents eventually watched Daredevil: Born Again and were 'very pleased' with it, says the actor. In 2003, Ben Affleck played Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer who fights for justice in the courtroom and, come evening, on the streets of New York as a masked vigilante. Jennifer Garner, Michael Clarke Duncan, Colin Farrell, Joe Pantoliano, Jon Favreau, and David Keith also starred in the film based on Marvel Comics. Charlie first played the same role in the Daredevil web series from 2015-2018. He also had a cameo in the 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home, 2022 web series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and the 2025 animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. He now headlines Daredevil: Born Again.
