#SHOWBIZ: Shila Amzah: I did not interfere in the singer's family matters

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer Shila Amzah, 34, has refuted claims of interfering in the family affairs of a legendary singer, who allegedly assaulted her during rehearsals for a recent concert. In a report by Harian Metro yesterday, Shila stated that she had merely offered feedback to a celebrity friend who had complained about the attitude of an unnamed individual described as "Datin". This celebrity friend, a well-known actress, is the daughter of the legendary singer. Many netizens believe the "Datin" in question is her stepmother. "I was merely offering moral support to a good friend of mine. We didn't mention any names," Shila clarified, adding that both of them shared "similar predicaments" involving their loved ones. Shila further explained, "When I told my friend I understood her problem, I wasn't referring to her family, but my own, particularly my own stepmum." The incident in question occurred last Thursday at Stadium Merdeka, during rehearsals for the MR D.I.Y. 20th Anniversary Concert, where Shila alleged she was verbally "attacked" by the legendary singer in front of witnesses, prompting her to file a police report. Kuala Lumpur Deputy Police Chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad revealed that the veteran singer was displeased with Shila for "interfering in his family matters."
