Celebs at Wimbledon: Dave Grohl, Olivia Rodrigo headline A-listers in crowds
Dave Grohl led the A-list celebrities braving the rain on day three of Wimbledon. The Foo Fighters frontman, 56, looked the part in his glistening suit as he walked through the All England Club gates alongside wife Jordyn Blum. Last year, the rock star admitted to fathering a love-child with another woman as he was accused of having 'a 15-year affair with a porn goddess'. But he and wife Jordyn were all smiles as they made their way to Centre Court for the day's action. And it was case of music greats past and present in attendance as play on the outside courts was delayed by the bad weather. That is because Olivia Rodrigo was also invited to the tennis as a guest of the club, just three days after headlining the final night of Glastonbury, while Sir Cliff Richard was back once more. And there was plenty of stars from the sporting world, too. Current England manager Thomas Tuchel headed to SW19 for the first time since taking on the job from Sir Gareth Southgate - who was at Wimbledon on Monday. Another of Tuchel's Three Lions predecessors, Roy Hodgson, also headed to South-West London on Wednesday alongside wife Sheila. Graeme Le Saux earned 36 England caps - plus a fair few more in Soccer Aid. He also boasts membership at the All England Club and proudly wore his badge upon arrival this morning. Diver Tom Daley — used to the water — proved he is just as capable at turning out a fashionable number as he is at twisting and turning into the pool. Golfer Tommy Fleetwood opted for a shimmering grey suit and tie paired with grey loafers. Actor Dominic Cooper defied his 47 years by dazzling in a brilliant sky-blue suit. And wrestler John Cena could be seen after all as he arrived with wife Shay Shariatzadeh. Despite the wet weather in Wimbledon, the celebs can expect another bumper day from their seats in the Royal Box on Centre Court. The day's order of play started with world No1 Aryna Sabalenka vs Marie Bouzkova followed by Brit student Ollie Tarvet against defending champion Carlos Alcaraz. And the third match on Centre saw two Grand Slam champions pitted against each other in round two as 2021 US Open queen Emma Raducanu faced 2023 Wimbledon winner Marketa Vondrousova. The Sun BECKHAM, BLANCHETT, REBEL WILSON LEAD STARS AT WIMBLEDON ON DAY ONE David Beckham made a mad 4,000-mile dash back from the Club World Cup to join the celebrities on the first day of Wimbledon. The former England captain watched his Inter Miami side get dumped out of the tournament by his former employers PSG on Sunday night. The 4-0 victory for PSG kicked off at 5pm local time at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia – or 10pm UK time. But despite the match finishing just 13-and-a-half hours before play got underway on Centre Court, Beckham hot-footed it across the Atlantic to be joined by his mum Sandra. And he even posed for a selfie 12 hours after full-time in Atlanta with Wimbledon 2004 champion Maria Sharapova, who was one of the first big-name arrivals. The Russian has been a regular at the All England Club since her retirement and once again made the most of her membership to watch the tennis. So before things got underway on the court, Sharapova and a suited-and-booted Beckham posed for a brilliant selfie for their combined 92million followers. Sharapova – decked out in a denim skirt and navy polo in the record-breaking sweltering heat – wrote: 'Let the (Wimbledon) games begin.' It has been a busy few days for Becks – set to get a knighthood – who underwent secret surgery on his wrist. He wore a sling and had heavy strapping on the joint at the Club World Cup last night. But he had no sling when he took his seat in the Royal Box for the start of Carlos Alcaraz vs Fabio Fognini – but had swapped his dark suit for a cream one. Beckham sat next to former England boss Sir Gareth Southgate – fresh from his knighthood – was also among the VIPs taking in the Day One action. And it was not just footballers in the house. Former cricket star Stuart Broad was in attendance with partner and ex-The Saturdays singer Mollie King. Actors Eddie Redmayne and Jason Isaacs plus singers Cliff Richard and Ronan Keating were in the Royal Box, too. Sam Thompson of Made In Chelsea and I'm A Celebrity fame also made the short journey from West London to South-West London. Oliver Proudlock and Emma Louise Connolly, Laura Whitmore, Isla Fisher and Rochelle and Marvin Humes were also among first-day attendees. – The Sun Read related topics: Wimbledon Tennis Nick Kyrgios has slammed a move from Jannik Sinner to reunite with the fitness coach he sacked in 2024 after it was revealed that the Italian had tested positive for doping. Foo Fighters Break A Tie With One Of The Biggest Bands In Rock Music
Foo Fighters score a thirty-third top 10 hit on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with ... More 'Today's Song,' breaking the band's tie with Shinedown for the most ever. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 12: Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters performs onstage during the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards at Barclays Center on September 12, 2021 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. (Photo byfor MTV/ViacomCBS) Less than a month after Foo Fighters released a new single titled simply "Today's Song," the track has already proven itself to be a big hit. The cut arrived in early July as a standalone release and quickly climbed the Billboard charts, giving the legendary rock outfit another win. As "Today's Song" continues to rise, the band breaks an important tie and claims a new historic first. Foo Fighters Make History With "Today's Song" On the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart this week, "Today's Song" bolts into the top 10. The track surges from No. 24 to No. 10, entering the highest tier for the first time just three weeks into its lifespan. Foo Fighters have now scored 33 top 10 smashes on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart — an all-time record among all artists. Foo Fighters Break a Tie Before "Today's Song" reached the top 10, Foo Fighters were tied with Shinedown for the most appearances inside the highest tier of the Mainstream Rock Airplay ranking. Shinedown is steady with 32 placements, but that number could change at any point, and the group may soon tie Foo Fighters once again. Another rock act, Five Finger Death Punch, isn't far behind, with 31 top 10 hits to its credit. Radio Dominance for 'Today's Song' "Today's Song" is turning out to be quite the radio smash in the rock world. The Foo Fighters track soars into the top 10 on both the Mainstream Rock Airplay and Alternative Airplay charts, while also jumping from No. 3 to No. 1 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay list. This week, the tune also debuts on the Adult Alternative Airplay ranking, coming in at No. 32. Foo Fighters already claim the most No. 1s of all time on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart and the most top 10 smashes on the Alternative Airplay list. With "Today's Song," the group further extends its lead over all other acts in these regards.

Foo Fighters Enjoy A Special Comeback Thanks To An Unexpected No. 1 Hit
Foo Fighters' Greatest Hits returns to multiple Billboard charts following the success of the band's ... More new single 'Today's Song,' which is not included on the compilation. INDIO, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 19: (FOR EDITORIAL USE ONLY) Musician Dave Grohl, founding member of Nirvana and The Foo Fighters, performs onstage as a special guest with the Los Angeles Philharmonic during weekend 2, day 2 of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 19, 2025 in Indio, California. (Photo byfor Coachella) Sometimes when a musical act releases a new song, fans focus on just that one release. In other instances, attention paid to one cut generates interest in the band's entire catalog. This phenomenon has become much more pronounced in the streaming era, as it's easier than ever for people to consume one artist's music – any or all of it – with just a few clicks. Foo Fighters are the latest musical stars to see older works surge thanks to the arrival of an exciting new single. Greatest Hits Returns to the Charts In early July, Foo Fighters released "Today's Song," a somewhat surprising single that, so far, doesn't have a home on any album. The track has been living on several Billboard charts for three weeks now, and its arrival and continued ascent across a number of rankings has brought the band's Greatest Hits compilation back in a big way. This week, Greatest Hits appears on three Billboard tallies after being absent from all of them just days ago. The singles-packed project reenters the Top Hard Rock Albums tally at No. 13, while also landing on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums roster at No. 48. Foo Fighters return to the Billboard 200, albeit barely, as Greatest Hits breaks back in at No. 198. The compilation coincidentally sits one rung below another simply-titled Greatest Hits collection by Blink-182. Foo Fighters' set moved just under 8,800 equivalent units in the past tracking frame, according to Luminate. Almost all of those units came from streaming activity, as the project sold fewer than 400 copies. Foo Fighters' New Single's Unlikely Impact It's worth mentioning that "Today's Song" is not featured on Greatest Hits, so sales and streams of the track don't directly benefit the compilation. Instead, all the excitement surrounding the brand new tune appears to be reminding American audiences just how much they love the band. In turn, large numbers of listeners are heading to streaming platforms to press play on the many smashes that made Foo Fighters chart-toppers in the first place, which pushes the album's figure higher and higher. Hundreds of Weeks on the Charts Greatest Hits has already spent hundreds of weeks on each of the tallies it appears on this frame. While it has risen into the highest reaches of two genre-specific albums rankings — at one point dominating the Top Hard Rock Albums list — the collection never broke into the top 10 on the Billboard 200, instead peaking at No. 11. Since the band released the set in 2009, Greatest Hits has fallen away from these charts and returned multiple times. It seems something as simple as dropping a new single can be enough to push it back onto various lists. "Today's Song" is an Airplay Winner "Today's Song" currently lives on half a dozen tallies. While it slips on two general consumption rankings, the Foo Fighters cut manages to climb on several others. The single reaches No. 1 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay list, earning the band its twelfth leader. At the same time, it breaks into the top 10 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay roster, bolting from No. 24 to No. 10. The tune also reaches that region on the Alternative Airplay list, soaring to No. 6. Foo Fighters debut "Today's Song" at No. 32 on the Adult Alternative Airplay list, where the tune is just getting started.

Ed Sheeran Goes Hard Rock On New Collab With Dave Grohl And John Mayer
Ed Sheeran is having a crack at rock stardom, unleashing a gritty new riff-fuelled song dubbed 'Drive'. And he's brought along some heavy-hitting passengers along for the ride — none other than Dave Grohl on drums and John Mayer on guitar. The all-star collab is part of the soundtrack for the upcoming F1 movie, a high-octane Formula 1 flick starring Brad Pitt, which hits Aussie cinemas next Thursday, 26th June. Swapping acoustic ballads for bluesy Audioslave-esque riffs and raspy vocals, Sheeran leans into his most gravel-throated tone yet, belting out the anthemic hook: 'Pedal down and driiiiiiiiive.' It's part rock revival, part stadium sing-along — and tbh it kinda rips? Ed Sheeran – 'Drive' Produced by Blake Slatkin and Mayer himself, 'Drive' also features Foo Fighters keyboardist Rami Jaffee and bass legend Pino Palladino. Sheeran first teased the track last month on his Insta Story, promoting its appearance on the F1 movie soundtrack. It won't appear on his upcoming new album, Play (due out Friday, 12th September), which includes previous singles 'Azizam', 'Sapphire', and 'Old Phone'. Meanwhile, it's another day, another blockbuster collab for Grohl, who's been racking up soundtrack credits lately — including a recent feature on 'I Feel Alive' for The Minecraft Movie. Foo Fighters are also gearing up for a global return in 2025, with dates locked in across Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, and Mexico (no Australia yet but we'll keep you looped). The F1: The Album soundtrack lands next Friday alongside the film and boasts a stacked tracklist with contributions from Rosé, Tate McRae, Raye, Burna Boy, Roddy Ricch, Dom Dolla, Chris Stapleton, Tiësto, Sexyy Red and more. (Photo by) The Foo Fighters may or may not be entering a brand new era with 'Today's Song.' The tune appeared seemingly out of nowhere recently, and as it launches across a variety of Billboard charts, it's still unclear if the group is prepping the world for another full-length project, or if this track is, at least for now, a standalone release to be enjoyed by fans everywhere. The quick success of 'Today's Song' helps bring the band's Greatest Hits compilation back to the forefront, and back to the charts in the United States. The popularity of the just-dropped single seems to have improved the group's entire catalog, with many listeners likely focusing their streaming activity on the compilation. Foo Fighters Return with Greatest Hits Greatest Hits by the Foo Fighters appears on four Billboard tallies in America this week, reentering each and every one of them. The collection sits highest on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, landing at No. 12. On the Top Alternative Albums list, Greatest Hits also returns, settling in at No. 23. The project just misses the crucial top 40 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums roster, where it lands at No. 42. The Foo Fighters also reappear on the Billboard 200, the ranking of the most popular albums of any kind in the U.S. On that tally, Greatest Hits breaks back in at No. 178. Hundreds of Weeks on the Charts Luminate states that during the past tracking period in America, the Foo Fighters' compilation moved another 9,100 equivalent units. Almost all of those came from streaming activity, as the title sold only 350 copies. While Greatest Hits had recently disappeared from all four of the charts it returns to this frame, the full-length isn't new to any of them. The compilation has spent hundreds of weeks on each roster – the least of which stands at 284 weeks on the Billboard 200. The same project is nearing 450 weeks on the list of the most consumed hard rock collections in the country.
