PS Plus Essential July 2025 games reveal time, and when you can download them
Sony has confirmed the PS Plus July 2025 reveal time, which is when we'll be finding out the incoming PS Plus Essential games for the month ahead. Here's everything you need to know. It's nearly time for a fresh batch of complimentary games for PS Plus subscribers, so make sure to download this month's offerings before they revert to their usual price. PS Plus continues to have a lot to prove as it oscillates between stellar lineups and disappointing letdowns. The Days of Play event took gamers by surprise when the service unveiled an impressive array of bonus PS Plus games, including new and classic Destiny 2 expansions. However, since then, the future seems less certain. FBC: Firebreak was a promising addition, but the PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 release failed to impress, with Battlefield 2042 landing on the service after being largely abandoned by shooter enthusiasts. The service has plenty in its arsenal for Extra and Premium subscribers either way, so players will be content with their already extensive backlogs, but Essential players could do with more. This unpredictable pattern has made the service feel like a bit of a gamble. It's even more frustrating for players who feel somewhat trapped, given that they're paying for PlayStation 's online service anyway. But there's always hope. The upcoming PS Plus Essential drop could be a game-changer if we're extremely fortunate. Our PS Plus Essential July 2025 predictions suggested that we might see some viral classics and indie treasures that fans of high-speed shooters will love. However, we won't know for sure until Sony reveals the games, and subsequently drops them in the laps of players everywhere. So, when can we expect the PS Plus Essential July 2025 reveal? Here's what you need to know about the forthcoming drop. PS Plus Essential July 2025 reveal time The PS Plus Essential July 2025 reveal time is scheduled for 8.30am PDT / 11.30am EDT / 4.30pm BST on Wednesday, June 25. This is because the PS Plus Essential games are always unveiled on the last Wednesday of the month before being made available to players on the following Tuesday, which in this case is Tuesday, July 1. These new games will replace the current PS Plus Essential games, which include Destiny 2: The Final Shape, NBA 2K25, Alone in the Dark 2024 and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. Be sure to download them before they return to their full price, which as we all know, can be a real pain.

PlayStation's DualSense Edge wireless controller is on sale for a record-low price
Now's a great time to save on Sony gaming gear thanks to the most recent Days of Play sale. PlayStation 5 consoles, accessories, games and even PS Plus subscriptions have been discounted, and one of the standout deals is on the PS5 DualSense Edge controller. You can pick one up for $169, which is 15 percent off its usual price. The deal is available on Amazon and from Sony directly. The layout apes that of the regular DualSense controller, but there's a lot more going on with the Edge. For instance, there are function buttons below each thumbstick that allow you to swap between button configurations (which you can customize at any time in the PS5 settings). On the rear, there are switches that enable you to change the pull length of the shoulder triggers. There are also rear paddles, and you can choose between a set of levers or shorter half-domes. It's possible to swap out the thumbsticks as well and, because they attach to the controller magnetically, it's a cinch to do so. Other than the standard nubs, you can choose between short-stemmed convex and long-stemmed convex options. There's also a cable lock that prevents you from accidentally removing the USB-C charging cable by accident. You might want to keep that cable plugged in. One of the major downsides of the DualSense Edge is its battery life. In our testing, we got around five to six hours of use on a single charge, less than the six or seven we get with the standard DualSense. Last but not least, the DualSense Edge comes with a hardshell carrying case. There's even a passthrough flap through which you can thread a USB-C cable to charge the controller while it's cocooned in the case. There are, of course, lots of other intriguing discounts in the Days of Play sale, including one on the standard PS5 DualSense controller. That has dropped to $55, which is $20 off the list price. PlayStation Plus celebrates ‘Days of Play' with GTA III remastered release
Source: Rockstar Games PlayStation Plus is celebrating its annual "Days of Play" event by including a flagship title to its game roster: the remastered Grand Theft Auto III from the GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition. Beginning June 10, 2025, Premium and Extra level subscribers will be able to download and access this classic open-world game for free. This action allows fans to go back to Liberty City with improved graphics and gameplay on PS4 and PS5 systems. GTA III remastered free for PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra subscribers The star of the Days of Play event is the inclusion of Grand Theft Auto III: The Definitive Edition with PlayStation Plus for Premium and Extra members. As of June 10, gamers get the fully remastered classic for free without any additional charge. The Definitive Edition comes with refreshed visuals, enhanced lighting, and contemporary controls, giving new life to this milestone title that was first released in 2001. This isn't the first time GTA III has seen a run on PlayStation Plus. It was available on the service's catalog for six months in 2021 shortly after the Definitive Edition's initial launch. This was followed by GTA: Vice City in October 2022, furthering the rotation of the trilogy titles through the subscription service. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo The release follows the plan of Sony to keep PlayStation Plus new and interesting to fans amidst the Days of Play celebration. Additional details and community reactions to the GTA III remaster The remastered GTA III will still be offered on PlayStation Plus for roughly six months, probably going off the service in November 2025. This aligns with other Rockstar games on the service, like GTA San Andreas, which went up during last year's Days of Play and went off after a half-year. The Definitive Edition was originally met with widespread criticism when it was first released because of a myriad of bugs and performance problems. Rockstar has put a lot of effort in the last three years patching and enhancing the trilogy, though. A major 2024 update rectified a lot of the big issues, so now is the perfect time for enthusiasts to enjoy remastered Liberty City on PS4 and PS5. Meanwhile, in further news, committed fans have even managed to port GTA III to its originally intended platform, the SEGA Dreamcast, demonstrating the passion of the community for this classic title. PlayStation Plus's Days of Play event offers a great opportunity for both returning and new players to dive into the remastered Grand Theft Auto III. With enhanced visuals and improved gameplay, this release reminds players why Liberty City remains a timeless setting in gaming history. Don't miss your chance to explore this classic on PlayStation Plus starting June 10. Also Read: Rockstar surprises fans with new GTA San Andreas iOS update

'I bought a PS5 Pro when it released - and now Sony is selling it for even less money'
Sony has launched its Days of Play sale, with consoles, controllers, and games on sale - and that includes the PS5 Pro The PS5 Pro, which was released a few months ago, didn't quite live up to Sony's expectations despite the hype. However, a rare sale might be the perfect opportunity for gamers to get their hands on the console. Sony has kicked off its Days of Play sale, offering discounts on consoles, controllers, and games, including the PS5 Pro. For a limited time, the price has been slashed to £659.99. But that's not the only bargain available for gamers. The original PS5 slim console is also on offer at £389.99, down from £479.99, if the PS5 Pro seems a bit too pricey, reports the Express. There are other deals to be had as well, such as the Dualsense Edge Wireless controller and the PS VR2 with Horizon: Call of the Mountain for £354.99 , reduced from £399. Gamers can find a host of fantastic discounts here. Sony is even allowing customers to trade in their old consoles, so shoppers have an old PS4 or PS5, they could get the new console for even less. Sony also operates a refurbished console shop here, where gamers can snag a great deal. There are plenty of alternatives to consider. The Nintendo Switch 2 is on the horizon for shoppers wanting a new console, and Nintendo is selling it right here. Amazon is also selling the Nintendo Switch OLED for £240 if the newest console isn't in the budget. When the PS5 Pro was first released, I had the opportunity to review it, and despite its hefty price tag, we were quite impressed. One of the games we tested was Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which, to be frank, looked absolutely dreadful when I first played it. It had a peculiar blur that made me feel as if my spectacles weren't strong enough. However, the PS5 Pro has completely transformed how this game appears. Instead of a slick blur in the distance, there's now an option that allows you to output an upscaled 4K resolution with 60fps, whereas the standard console only allowed 4K 30 or a lower resolution at 60fps. The PS5 eliminates that, and the game looks fantastic. Background textures and imagery look stunning, but Final Fantasy isn't the only game that looks great. Horizon Forbidden Wes t also received some impressive upgrades. Compared to the inconsistent FPS drops I experienced with the original PS5, FPS drops are now non-existent, and the image quality 'pops' far more than it did on the old console. It feels much closer to games on my high-end PC rather than playing older console – one of my biggest gripes with the original PS5. But the big question is: Should shoppers fork out close to £659 for the PS5 Pro? Well, I believe 80 per cent of people still probably don't need the console, and unless gamers require the best possible frame rates and resolution, most people don't need it.
