Sony Days of Play Sale leaked: Discounts on consoles, controllers, and more tipped

Sony is expected to unveil its annual Days of Play promotional event this week, bringing with it substantial discounts across its PlayStation hardware, games, and accessories lineup. According to a report by reliable tipster billbil-kun via Dealabs, the sale is slated to run from 28 May to 11 June and could include some of the most significant price reductions on the PS5 yet. In Europe, the PlayStation 5 Slim is tipped to receive a €100 price cut, marking the most attractive deal to date on the console. Both the disc and digital versions of the PS5 Slim are expected to be included in the offer. If accurate, the standard edition will drop from €549.99 to €449.99, while the digital variant will retail for €399.99 during the promotion, down from its usual €499.99. Significantly, the PS5 Pro—Sony's more powerful console that debuted in November 2024—could be included in the sale for the first time. The high-end model, which launched at €799.99, is reportedly set for a €50 reduction, bringing the price down to €749.99. The report also suggests that the PlayStation VR2 headset and selected DualSense controllers will see discounts of up to €50 as part of the event. While Sony has yet to officially confirm the details, an announcement is anticipated on 27 May. If confirmed, this year's Days of Play would follow a similar timeline to 2023's edition, which kicked off on 29 May and featured notable offers on PlayStation consoles and digital content. In India, Sony is expected to host a region-specific version of the sale, offering localised discounts on consoles, games, and accessories. However, the PS5 Pro is still not available in the Indian market and is unlikely to be part of the promotion there. Gamers across the globe will be keeping a close eye on Sony's official channels this week, as the Days of Play sale has become a much-anticipated opportunity to grab PlayStation products at significantly reduced prices.

Sony's XM6 over-ears get an official release date – and they're right around the corner

Not to sound like a broken record, but the Sony WH-1000XM5 really are a stellar set of cans. They're some of, if not the best noise-canceling headphones money can buy. Now, the hotly anticipated XM6 headphones are set to arrive as a follow-up. Better yet, we've finally got an official release date – and the cans are right around the corner. After Dealabs shared a not-so-subtle leak involving Amazon Spain and a Reddit user with an eye for pulled product pages, Sony has come out and officially said what we've all been waiting for. The next pair of its ridiculously popular noise-cancelling headphones, the WH-1000XM6, will be unveiled on 15 May. The launch will take place at 5pm BST/12pm ET. It doesn't look like there's a live stream to follow along with, but expect the news to drop everywhere (including here at Stuff) at that time. Sony's WH-1000X line is basically the iPhone of headphones at this point. Every model gets lapped up by the masses, and with good reason. The XM5 was more evolution than revolution – slightly better noise cancelling, a design facelift, and just enough of a spec bump to make you feel like your XM4s were looking a bit tired. So expectations for the XM6s are pretty high. According to the leak, the XM6s pack a new QN3 HD processor – supposedly 7x faster than the QN1 chip in the XM5s. If it means genuinely better noise cancelling, we're in for something exciting this time. Plus, there's a new six-mic AI beamforming system for calls. It should mean you'll actually sound like a human being and not a muffled ghost on Zoom. There's also still a headphone jack present. No word yet on battery life improvements or other niceties, but Sony's track record suggests we'll see some polish. The WH-1000XM6 will launch officially on 15 May. Thanks to the leak, we can expect pricing to start at $450 in the US (a $50 bump), and €388 in Europe. Expect them to be available to buy immediately after the launch.

New Sony Noise-Canceling Headphones Specs and Pricing Apparently Leak

It appears that Sony is gearing up to release its high-end consumer successor to the WH-1000XM5 noise canceling headphones, and potentially very soon, according to a new leak from Dealabs via Android Authority. Sony launched the WH-1000XM5 three years ago, in May 2022, marking the longest gap in time from one generation to another since the line was introduced in 2016. The series has always balanced a mix of function, comfort and sound that has kept it on many top noise-canceling headphone lists, including CNET's. The new headphones were first spotted by a Reddit user that found a since-removed Amazon Spain listing, detailing the specs and pricing of the latest over-ear headphones from Sony. In the three years that it's taken to get a new pair of headphones from this lineup, it's fairly easy to assume that there will be improvements across the board, including ones that people had been asking for since they were originally introduced.

Sony WH-1000XM6 headphone specs and details leak early

Sony will launch a successor to its WH-1000XM5 noise cancelling headphones on May 15th, according to leaked information reported by Dealabs and Android Authority. Details of the new headphones model, called the WH-1000XM6, come from a now pulled Amazon Spain listing for the product that was first spotted by a Reddit user. The XM6 will feature an upgraded noise-canceling processor called the QN3 HD, which according to Dealabs, will be seven times faster than the QN1 chip present in Sony's XM5. The upgrade should result in better noise cancelling and perhaps sound quality. It also looks like it has an AI-powered six-microphone beamforming system for calls, and still comes with a headphone jack. Unfortunately the Trump administration's tariffs seem to be affecting the price of the new XM6. Dealabs says it will launch for $449.99 in the US — $50 more expensive than the $399.99 XM5s, which our senior reviewer Chris Welch has called the best wireless headphones for most people. The XM5, however, is only slightly better at noise canceling than the XM4 that launched in 2020, so the XM6 will need a truly generational improvement to justify the higher price.

New PS5 Console Bundle Leaked, Reportedly Out Soon

A new PS5 console bundle is reportedly in the works, and will be out as soon as March 2025, according to a reliable insider. We're leaning towards this rumor being true because the bundle allegedly includes a copy of GOTY 2024, , which Sony would naturally want to highlight. This report is brought to us by Dealabs user billbil-kun, who has a near flawless track record when it comes to leaks. According to them, the bundle will include a standard PS5 Slim along with a disc drive, and a download code for Astro Bot. Billbil-kun didn't say if the PS5 Pro and PS5 Slim digital edition will get the bundle treatment or not. However, they did say that the release date is expected to be March 13, 2025, so we'll find out soon enough. Billbil-kun is based in Europe, so this date may not apply to the U.S. and/or other regions where the bundle will launch. They estimated the European price tag to be around 474 and 499 euros. As for when the PS5 Astro Bot bundle will be announced, billbil-kun is speculating a reveal at the rumored PlayStation State of Play, which is reportedly taking place later this week.
