Xbox tipped to open ROG Ally and Ally X pre-orders at Gamescom — here's what we know

The ability to pick up the Xbox-branded Asus ROG Ally or Ally X may be closer than we thought with a new report claiming you'll be able to pre-order the handheld consoles during Gamescom 2025. According to the French blog, Dealabs, preorders will go live starting on August 20 during an Xbox showcase at the Cologne gaming conference. Gamescom starts on August 20 and runs through the 24th. Microsoft will have a big presence there with the opportunity for people to go hands-on with the consoles, including with a playable demo of the long-awaited 'Hollow Knight: Silksong.' The Xbox broadcast starts at 6am PT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST on Wednesday, August 20. According to Xbox, that broadcast will feature the "ROG Xbox Ally handheld, 'Ground 2,' 'Keeper,' 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 7' and more." Xbox and Asus revealed the handheld consoles at the end of June, but did not provide pricing or release date details. Dealabs reaffirmed an earlier leak from the Spanish Asus store that the devices will be priced at €599 (about $690) for the Xbox Ally and €899 (about $1040) for the Xbox Ally X. Of course, pricing is adjusted depending on the region, and tariffs may raise those numbers higher in the United States. Either way, these consoles will feature a premium-price. Current rumors place the Xbox Ally and Ally X launching in October, and Xbox has said the consoles would be available this "holiday" period. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Both the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X will be powered by Windows 11 with a custom Xbox "experience" integrated, an aggregated gaming library and access to the full range of PC game stores including GOG and Steam. Of course, they will support Xbox Play Anywhere titles too. The Ally features an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor and a 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. The Ally X gets boosted with an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip, 24GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage. The Ally X also features a slightly larger 80Wh, and a couple of extra ports including USB-C with Thunderbolt 4. Stay tuned to the latest from Tom's Guide as we're quite eager to get the ROG Ally and Ally X for testing as soon as they become available. Pixel Watch 4 pricing leak could mean good news for those fearing a hike

TL;DR A new Pixel Watch 4 leak has revealed that the pricing may remain unchanged from the Pixel Watch 3 in Europe. Unless there are any tariff impacts, this suggests US prices may also remain flat, starting at $349. With the upgrades to the specs of the Google wearable looking modest, it would be logical that there would be little to no price hike. It's not too long now until we meet the Pixel Watch 4. While we've managed to get some insight into the specs and colors of the next Google wearable, one aspect remained a mystery. However, we now have our best insight yet into how much it might cost. According to a report from Dealabs, Google will keep the Pixel Watch 4 pricing unchanged in France and the wider European market. The smaller 41mm model will be priced at €399 for Wi-Fi and €499 for LTE, while the larger 45mm versions will come in at €449 and €549, respectively. If those prices are accurate, US buyers may also be spared a price hike this year. The Pixel Watch 3 launched at $349 for the 41mm Wi-Fi model, $399 for the 41mm LTE, $399 for the 45mm Wi-Fi, and $449 for the 45mm LTE. Google may stick with the same pricing tiers for the Pixel Watch 4. Given how modest the hardware changes are this year, a flat price seems logical. The Pixel Watch 4 is expected to reuse the same Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip as its predecessors, albeit with slightly larger batteries and a new co-processor to help with AI tasks. Other potential upgrades include faster charging, a more repairable design, and new emergency features like Breathing Emergencies alerts and satellite communication support. One unknown is whether the Trump administration's shifting tariff policies could impact US pricing. Some of Google's hardware is still assembled in China, and new trade measures could introduce added costs. That said, any such impact remains speculative at this stage. Google is set to reveal the Pixel Watch 4 officially at its Made by Google event on August 20. Pre-orders are expected to open on the same day, so we only have a month to wait for price confirmation. Galaxy Watch 8 series specs and prices leak, and it's expensive

TL;DR The specifications and the prices of the Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and Watch Ultra (2025) have leaked. The report also confirms the color variants of the three smartwatches, including a Noir (presumably, black) Watch 8 Classic. The Galaxy Watch Ultra remains largely unchanged, with the only notable exception being its additional blue color. The Samsung Unpacked event, set for later this week, has been preceded by a flurry of Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 leaks. While the foldables have seized most of the limelight, the Galaxy Watch 8 series is also grabbing attention with a recent leak. Following recent leaks that highlighted Samsung's shift towards a squircle body, a new report by French website Dealabs reveals the specifications and tentative prices of the Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025). Confirmed specifications include details about the 40mm and 44mm variants of the Galaxy Watch 8, which will feature 1.44-inch and 1.47-inch displays, respectively. Color options are limited to silver and graphite, while Samsung continues to use aluminum for the chassis. Both size variants witness a slight bump in individual battery capacities compared to the two sizes of the Watch 7. However, there is no information about the charging speed, which is expected to remain at 10W. Evan Blass Galaxy Watch 8 The Galaxy Watch 8 will reportedly also be reasonably slimmer than the Watch 7, now measuring 8.6mm across both sizes, down from 9.7mm previously. The lateral increase in size presumably allows Samsung to spread out the internals sandwiched between the front glass and the rear panel and make the smartwatch slimmer. Despite its bigger dimensions, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic gets the same 1.34″ display as the smaller 40mm Watch 8. This is likely to accommodate a physical ring with indices around the display. The Classic, however, gets a large 445mAh battery and twice the internal storage as the regular Watch 8, at 64GB. Evan Blass Galaxy Watch 8 Classic The Galaxy Watch 8 also gets a more premium build, complete with a stainless steel frame and the iconic rotating dial, which is absent from the standard variants. It will be available in 'Noir' and 'Blanc' color variants, which are French words for black and white. Notably, only the white (actually, silver) colorway was previously leaked. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) continues the tradition of being molded from titanium and will be available in blue, gray, white, and silver colors, along with sports-style bands. The Watch Ultra will sport a larger 1.47″ display, identical to the previous generation, and no visible design changes. Battery capacities and the dimensions of the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) remain unchanged, too. Notably, another set of Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) images leaked by the Dutch site Nieuwe Mobile reveals that Samsung will keep the same model number as the last generation. So, the only change we witness here is the new Blue color. Nieuwe Mobile Notably, the displays across all three models have been upgraded; they will now boast 3,000 nits of brightness and be protected under Sapphire glass. The choice of processor also remains the same as last year, with Samsung's own Exynos W1000 driving all three. Given that the platform was only upgraded last year, a new one made little sense. All models are also expected to run One UI 8 Watch, which is already available in beta for older models. Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 series leaked prices Along with the specifications of the Galaxy Watch 8, the leak also discloses the probable pricing of these watches. Here's what each of the models is reported to be priced at in France: Galaxy Watch 8 : 40mm Bluetooth-only: €379.99 40mm LTE: €429.99 44mm Bluetooth-only: €409.99 44mm LTE: €459.99 : Galaxy Watch 8 Classic : Bluetooth-only: €529.99 LTE: €579.99 : Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) with LTE: €579.99 While the prices of the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic have increased by up to €60, the price of the Watch Ultra remains the same.
