Mrunal Thakur has a jam-packed movie slate. She is currently filming for David Dhawan's directorial Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai in Scotland. The rom-com features a star-studded cast including Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, Rajeev Khandelwal, Mouni Roy, Maniesh Paul, Chunky Pandey, Jimmy Shergill, Kubbra Sait, and Rohit Saraf. Produced under the banner of Tips Films Pvt. Ltd., the film is slated to release theatrically in October 2025.
Next, she will be seen in the much-awaited action-drama Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha. Featuring Adivi Sesh and Anurag Kashyap, the film is set for a theatrical release on December 25, 2025, and marks the directorial debut of Shaneil Deo. Touted as a gritty romantic action film, Dacoit revolves around the story of an enraged convict bent on taking revenge against his ex-girlfriend, who has betrayed him. As he creates a dangerous plan to ensnare her, the story unfolds into a gripping and emotionally charged journey of love, vengeance and betrayal. It will be released in Hindi and Telugu simultaneously.
Adding to the excitement, she will also appear alongside Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt in Son of Sardaar 2, the much-awaited sequel to the 2012 hit.
