Dream debut for Deeromram as he turns finisher twice in Red Giants victory

PETALING JAYA: It was a dream night for Kevin Deeromram as the Selangor wingback scored twice in their 3-0 Super League victory over Brunei on Tuesday. Remarkably, the 27-year-old is not even a striker. Deeromram found the net in the fifth and 36th minutes at the Petaling Jaya Stadium, both goals coming from pinpoint crosses delivered by fellow wingback Quentin Cheng. Relishing a role reversal: Selangor's Kevin Deeromram rejoicing after scoring a brace in their 3-0 win over Brunei. — Selangor FC It was a role reversal for Deeromram, who is usually the one providing assists. During his stint with Thailand's Port FC, particularly last season, he was a creative force – topping the assist charts with 11. Brazilian winger Chrigor Moraes then wrapped up the win for the Red Giants with a 67th-minute strike. For Deeromram, it was the perfect way to mark his first home appearance. 'Our aim was to get our first three points and we did it,' said the Swedish-born Thai international. 'I'm delighted to score my first goals for the club and to experience the atmosphere here in Petaling Jaya. It was beautiful, and I hope it continues. 'I hope the fans enjoy the way I play. Of course, scoring is a great way to introduce myself, but I still prefer creating chances for my teammates as that's my style, and that's why I was brought here.' The win was also the ideal response to their disappointing 0-3 defeat to Johor Darul Ta'zim in the Charity Shield on Aug 8. 'We didn't perform well against JDT, so we had a chat after the game about what we could do better,' said Deeromram. The left-sided flyer says he is settling quickly in Malaysia, thanks to the warm welcome from his teammates and coaches. 'I'm adapting well as the boys have been great, and the coach has been clear with what he wants. 'The Malaysian League is competitive, quite similar to what I experienced in Thailand.' Beyond club success, Kevin has another target in mind – a return to the Thai national team ahead of next month's international window. Thailand will compete in the King's Cup in Kanchanaburi, facing Fiji first on Sept 4, followed by either Iraq or Hong Kong on Sept 7. 'I would love to play for Thailand again and I want to be given that chance. Hopefully, the coach calls me up for the upcoming camp.' For now, though, Selangor fans will be hoping for Deeromram to not just provide assists, but take his chances too.

Deeromram at the double as Red Giants down Brunei 3-0

PETALING JAYA: Selangor bagged their first win of the Super League season after cruising past newcomers Brunei 3-0 at the Petaling Jaya Stadium on Tuesday (Aug 12). Katsuhito Kinoshi's men made a flying start when Thailand international Kevin Deeromram tucked home a low cross in the fifth minute. Deeromram was on target again in the 36th minute to double the Red Giants' advantage. Brunei showed brief flashes of threat after the break, forcing Selangor goalkeeper Kalamullah Al Hafiz into action, but their blunt attack failed to produce a breakthrough. Brazilian import Chrigor Moraes then sealed the win with a neat finish in the 67th minute. Selangor almost added a fourth late on, but Deeromram's left-footed strike came off the post and Alvin Fortes' follow-up sailed over
