Oregon women's golf advances to match play at NCAA Championship

Oregon women's golf advances to match play at NCAA Championship At this point, the Oregon Ducks reaching the match-play round of the NCAA Championships is becoming commonplace. On Monday, with a final round of -4, the Ducks advanced out of the stroke play and into the match-play rounds of the NCAA Championships, finished at -6 for the four rounds and in second place. The Stanford Cardinal stole the show in the stroke-play rounds, shooting an impressive -27 for the week. This is the second year in a row and the third time since 2022 that the Ducks have made it to the matchplay round of the championship as one of the final eight teams in the field. Big Ten Golfer of the Year Kiara Romero shot a seven-under 65 on Monday to move the Ducks up to No. 2 in the field, as the team matched the low round of the day with a -4 (284). 'Very thankful for the opportunity to return to match play,' head coach Derek Radley said. 'Just extremely proud to finish with that second seed after stroke play in a really talented field. I saw some really great things from our team and I thought we really did a good job of sticking to our game plan. Oregon will face No. 7 seed Texas beginning at 7:40 a.m. PT, with the winner moving on to play either No. 3 seed Northwestern or No. 6 seed Arkansas in the semifinals later in the day.
