Good Morning Britain viewers demand 'fantastic' presenter returns amid ITV shake-up
Things were changed up due to the bank holiday. Good Morning Britain viewers tuning into Monday's programme were impressed with the different presenting line-up due to the bank holiday. Usually on a Monday, Susanna Reid is joined by one of her regular male co-hosts, either Ed Balls or Richard Madeley. However, due to the bank holiday fans tuned in to see Ranvir Singh and Robert Rinder in the presenting seat. The hosts received mixed reactions from viewers, however it was the change up of weather presenter change that delighted fans at home, writes Bristol Post. Standing in for the regular weather star, Laura Tobin, was Des Coleman. Des has been a stand in on Good Morning Britain over the years and viewers were thrilled by the shake-up. Taking to X (formally Twitter), one person commented: "We like Des [sic] and he should always fill in for Laura when she's away doing whatever she does. Always a pleasure to see him." Another wrote: "Love Des so cheerful." Praising Des, someone else said: "And that people is how the weather should be presented." One viewer shared: "Ah, a professional weather person! [sic] GMB hasn't finally taken the hint?" Chiming in, another said: "Please keep #descoleman on GMB. He is fantastic." In agreement, one commented: "How lovely to have a stand-in for Laura who is clear and eloquent. A real pleasure to see @DESCOLEMAN on. Please get him on more." Good Morning Britain is set to replace Lorraine's usual 9-10am slot for a period of 22 weeks annually. During the remainder of the year, Lorraine will host her show every weekday, pushing Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh, the regular stand-ins for Fridays, off the schedule. MailOnline disclosed the move to drastically reduce programming is part of a strategy to free up funds for investment in new dramas. A source informed the publication: "There is a need to cost save but also so that the right money can go to the right shows and with everything getting more expensive these things have to be looked at." They further mentioned: "Christine and Ranvir remain part of the ITV daytime family." In a positive turn for fans, This Morning is set to continue without changes, safeguarding its presenters Alison Hammond, Cat Deeley, Ben Shephard and Dermot O'Leary. Kevin Lygo, ITV's Managing Director for Media and Entertainment, commented on the matter, saying: "Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres. "These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever." Kevin went on to say: "I recognise that our plans will have an impact on staff off screen in our Daytime production teams, and we will work with ITV Studios and ITN as they manage these changes to produce the shows differently from next year, and support them through this transition. "Daytime has been a core element of ITV's schedule for over 40 years and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade," he concluded. Good Morning Britain fans say same thing as show sees presenter shake-up
Good Morning Britain viewers were thrilled to see a familiar face take to the screen as they tuned in to the show to see a presenting shake-up. Good Morning Britain fans were all thrilled after a slight shake-up in the presenting team. Typically, ITV viewers are served the latest news by Susanna Reid and one of her regular male co-hosts, either Ed Balls or Richard Madeley. However, on Bank Holiday Monday, audiences tuned in to see Ranvir Singh and Robert Rinder at the helm. While the hosting pair received mixed reviews, it was the change in weather presenter that really delighted viewers. Stepping in for usual weather expert, Laura Tobin, was Des Coleman. Des has been a stand-in on Good Morning Britain over the years and viewers were chuffed with the change, reports Bristol Live. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one person remarked: "We like Des and he should always fill in for Laura when she's away doing whatever she does. Always a pleasure to see him." In agreement, one commented: "How lovely to have a stand-in for Laura who is clear and eloquent. A real pleasure to see @DESCOLEMAN on. Please get him on more." ITV has just dropped a schedule bombshell, revealing a major overhaul slated for the next year. Good Morning Britain gets a time boost, now airing from 6:00am to 9:30am under the network's new plans. A bittersweet cut for fans of Lorraine, as the morning favourite sees its timeslot sliced to 9:30am-10:00am, and will grace screens only for 30 select weeks annually. When Lorraine Kelly isn't on, Good Morning Britain will fill the gap with an extra half-hour of airtime. Loose Women will stick to their lunchtime laughs and debates, keeping their hour of 12:30pm-1:30pm but will now also be going seasonal, appearing for the same 30-week duration. Behind the scenes, ITV's Managing Director Kevin Lygo acknowledges the shake-up's impact, commenting: "I recognise that our plans will have an impact on staff off screen in our Daytime production teams, and we will work with ITV Studios and ITN as they manage these changes to produce the shows differently from next year, and support them through this transition. "Daytime has been a core element of ITV's schedule for over 40 years, and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award-winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade."

'A TRUE COUNCILLOR' He told Shannonside FM: "Des was fearless. He always did what he felt was right, regardless of other people's opinions, public opinion, council opinion. "He went after what he thought was right, and if that meant ruffling a few feathers, we've all read the articles, we know the arguments he got himself into, but he did that from a good place in his heart where he felt that he needed to make a stand and he was willing to fall out with a few people if it meant getting the right result and I admired him for that." Foran returns as rising star explains Hasler's effect
Kieran Foran is back from a biceps tear off the bench for Gold Coast and just has to get through two tough training sessions to play his first NRL game of the season. The 34-year-old's impending return against Canberra away on Sunday has lifted the entire squad as they face external pressure around their own performances and coach Des Hasler. Last week's stunning 24-20 win over Newcastle, after trailing 20-0, was a sign the players are backing their coach. It emerged last week that Hasler had a clause in his three-year deal that allowed the club to part ways with him if the Titans don't make finals in 2025. Rookie fullback Jaylan De Groot, 22, is growing in confidence each week and had a strong performance against the Knights. He was thrust into the role in round four after New Zealand international Keano Kini sustained a long-term neck injury. Foran's return in the No.14 jersey will likely see him play a utility role like he did at the 2022 World Cup and in the 2023 Pacific Championships for the Kiwis, unless Hasler decides to reshuffle the spine and slot him into the halves where he has played for most of his stellar career. The 2011 title winner has training sessions on Wednesday and Friday to get through but he is on track to play. "It's a massive boost having Foz back," De Groot said. "The experience he has is second to none. When he leads you around on the field and talks to you it definitely makes your game easier. "The boys have come together well. We had gone through a tough patch with (five) losses in a row and turned it around with a win. Hopefully we can go back-to-back against a tough Raiders side." De Groot said speculation about Hasler's future had not impacted the playing group as he outlined why the coach had been a great support. "We all love Des as a coach. Our focus is to get the wins and not so much on the media stuff around it. We all back Des," he said. "When I first came in I was nervous but having a coach like Des back you takes those nerves away. "We do video sessions with defensive reads that I can get better at. Having him in my corner definitely helps a lot. "The more games I play the more confidence I have to back my ability to make the right plays."
