Good Morning Britain fans say same thing as show sees presenter shake-up
Good Morning Britain viewers were thrilled to see a familiar face take to the screen as they tuned in to the show to see a presenting shake-up.
Good Morning Britain fans were all thrilled after a slight shake-up in the presenting team.
Typically, ITV viewers are served the latest news by Susanna Reid and one of her regular male co-hosts, either Ed Balls or Richard Madeley.
However, on Bank Holiday Monday, audiences tuned in to see Ranvir Singh and Robert Rinder at the helm.
While the hosting pair received mixed reviews, it was the change in weather presenter that really delighted viewers.
Stepping in for usual weather expert, Laura Tobin, was Des Coleman. Des has been a stand-in on Good Morning Britain over the years and viewers were chuffed with the change, reports Bristol Live.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one person remarked: "We like Des and he should always fill in for Laura when she's away doing whatever she does. Always a pleasure to see him."
Another penned: "Love Des so cheerful." In praise of Des, someone else shared "And that people is how the weather should be presented."
One viewer shared: "Ah, a professional weather person! GMB hasn't finally taken the hint?" Joining in, another said: "Please keep #descoleman on GMB. He is fantastic."
In agreement, one commented: "How lovely to have a stand-in for Laura who is clear and eloquent. A real pleasure to see @DESCOLEMAN on. Please get him on more."
ITV has just dropped a schedule bombshell, revealing a major overhaul slated for the next year. Good Morning Britain gets a time boost, now airing from 6:00am to 9:30am under the network's new plans.
A bittersweet cut for fans of Lorraine, as the morning favourite sees its timeslot sliced to 9:30am-10:00am, and will grace screens only for 30 select weeks annually. When Lorraine Kelly isn't on, Good Morning Britain will fill the gap with an extra half-hour of airtime.
Loose Women will stick to their lunchtime laughs and debates, keeping their hour of 12:30pm-1:30pm but will now also be going seasonal, appearing for the same 30-week duration.
Behind the scenes, ITV's Managing Director Kevin Lygo acknowledges the shake-up's impact, commenting: "I recognise that our plans will have an impact on staff off screen in our Daytime production teams, and we will work with ITV Studios and ITN as they manage these changes to produce the shows differently from next year, and support them through this transition.
"Daytime has been a core element of ITV's schedule for over 40 years, and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award-winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade."

Iconic British TV show Blind Date is reportedly set to return to screens 22 years after it last aired - with a huge twist Iconic dating show Blind Date is reportedly set to return to screens 22 years after the late Cilla Black 's final episode. For months, it was rumoured the ITV show would be revived on the BBC. However, in a huge shake-up, the reboot will reportedly air on streaming service Disney +. The ITV show originally aired on Saturday nights from 1985-2003, and saw hundreds of couples meet for the first time. Like most dating shows, many didn't last past the studio doors - but some made it all the way to the alter. Now, a new bunch of singletons will be hoping to find their perfect date. A star studded line-up of female hosts are being eyed up to step into Cilla's shoes, including Holly Willoughby, Davina McCall and The Traitors ' Claudia Winkleman. Although there will be some "modern twists" to the revival - bosses are said to be keen to keep some of the original features that viewers know and love. 'There'll be key elements returning, including the famous sliding wall. 'Plus there will be a prize up for grabs of a wedding package, which echoes Cilla's famous gag whenever couples had enjoyed a successful date, and she used to ask, 'Do I need to buy an 'at for the wedding?'' Springwatch viewers were left in shock after the BBC Two programme showed gruesome scenes without giving any warning Springwatch viewers have been left fuming after the show failed to warn them before airing gruesome scenes on the BBC Two show. The episode saw hosts Chris Packham and Dancing on Ice star Michaela Strachan update fans on a short-eared owl's nest, but things took a turn for the worst when one chick was "pecked to death" by its sibling. Addressing Springwatch viewers, Michaela said: "It seems like they were all being fed, and just yesterday I was saying that one was doing well. But I'm afraid in that nest things took a turn for the worst." Michaela admitted the team was "really surprised" upon telling viewers how one chick ate its sibling in "shocking" scenes. However, viewers were left horrified when the show went straight into the clip without any warning. Give us a 5 minute warning next time." It comes shortly after the show k icked off its 20th anniversary series. The show broadcasted from a new location, in the picturesque Peak District. Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan introduced the first episode on May 26 with a nostalgic montage of clips featuring familiar faces, including Kate Humble and Bill Oddie, from the show's debut in 2005. "@ChrisGPackham clearly on an Oasis kick tonight," penned one follower, as others begged him to break out into song. "Oasis songs then Chris?" questioned one, as another said: "Some might say that Chris is naming Oasis songs."
