Devang, Divyanshi claim titles in badminton championship

Kanpur: Unseeded Devang Tomar and Divyanshi Gautam clinched the boys' and girls' singles titles respectively in the Yonex Sunrise UP state junior badminton championship that concluded at the Multipurpose Hall of the Green Park Stadium on Sunday. The Moradabad player Devang created a major upset in the semi-finals, defeating top seed Sumit Tiwari 21-14, 17-21, 21-14 in one of the most closely contested matches of the tournament. Both players engaged in long rallies, smashes, cross-court shots and drops, but luck appeared to favour Devang as he secured a place in the final. In the final, Devang emerged victorious against Prakhar Tiwari of Prayagraj in straight games, 21-10, 21-16. In the girls' singles, top seed Divyanshi Gautam comfortably defeated Rudrakshi Rana of Meerut 21-09, 21-14. Her combination of cross-court placings and drops proved too much for her opponent. The girls' doubles title was claimed by Adiya Yadav (Gorakhpur) and Ridhima Singh (Moradabad), who overcame the Agra pair of Palak Yadav and Sanghmitra Gautam 21-11, 21-17. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Abhishek Kushwaha (GGSSC) secured two titles. Surat: A day after the tragic death of a second-year radiology student at Surat's New Civil Hospital, police confirmed that the deceased, Dr Lokesh Devang , had been undergoing psychiatric treatment for over a year. His body was handed over to his family on Sunday and flown to Bengaluru in the evening. According to officials, Devang, originally from Bengaluru, died by suicide on Saturday afternoon. His friends reported that he had told them he would join them for lunch shortly but instead returned to his room, where he locked the door and hanged himself from the ceiling fan. Police said they recovered medical files and prescriptions from his room, indicating that he had been receiving psychiatric care since 2023. "His room was in disarray, with books, clothes, and personal belongings scattered.
