Article content The Windsor Police Service on Friday announced the arrests of five suspects, with the hunt continuing for two more tied to a $500,000-plus night-time alcohol heist in the city last month. Article content Article content Investigators said the suspects broke into a fenced-in facility located in the 3300 block of Devon Drive, located near Windsor's Devonshire Heights neighbourhood, shortly before 9 p.m. on May 17, 2025. Article content The Windsor police 'target base unit' launched an investigation and soon identified five suspects connected to the boozy heist. Officers determined that a cube van stolen earlier from a business in the 1000 block of Walker Road in Windsor was also connected to the crime. Article content Article content Following arrests in Windsor and Essex County, the five suspects face a raft of charges, including each being charged with a count of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence: Jason Greenwood, 46 (nine criminal counts, including break and enter and theft; theft of motor vehicle; possession of stolen property exceeding $5,000); Anthony Nelson, 57 (six counts); Erica Nelson, 44 (four counts); Justin Vachon, 27 (two counts); and William Girard, 49 (one count). Article content Article content The first suspect is described as approximately 40 years of age, with a dark-coloured full beard. At the time of the incident, he wore a baseball hat and a dark-coloured hoodie. Article content The second suspect is approximately 30 years of age. Five suspects arrested in $100K Crown Royal heist

The Windsor Police Service said it has arrested five suspects in connection to a recent $100,000 Crown Royal heist. Police are still searching for two other suspects seen in surveillance video. On May 17, 2025, two suspects broke into a secured lot and stole a transport loaded with 1,000 boxes of whisky. Police said the wholesale value of the alcohol is $100,000 wholesale, with a retail value estimated to be closer to $500,000. The boxes were in a transport truck parked in a fenced-in and secure lot on Devon Drive. The truck and trailer were found abandoned and empty the following day on County Road 46. The whisky had been removed and has not been found. More to come.

Police say suspects broke into a fenced-in facility in the 3300 block of Devon Drive and stole a semi-tractor trailer loaded with over 1,000 boxes of Crown Royal whisky products around 9 p.m. on May 17. The trailer was found abandoned the following day in the 4000 block of County Road 46. Police say the whiskey was removed and hasn't been located. Investigators urge residents and business owners in the area to check their surveillance or dashcam footage for possible evidence.
