Anusha Dandekar Says Suniel Shetty Ensured Her Safety During A Stunt On Hunter 2

Last Updated: Anusha Dandekar praised Suniel Shetty for ensuring safety during stunts on 'Hunter 2.' Shetty emphasized stronger safety protocols. 'Hunter Season 2' premiered on MX Player. Model-actress Anusha Dandekar has revealed how co-star Suniel Shetty went out of his way to ensure her safety during a stunt sequence on the sets of 'Hunter 2.' Speaking to IANS, she revealed working on 'Hunter 2" marked her first experience with action sequences, and she was entirely focused on getting her shot right. While she acknowledged the crew's support, she emphasized that it was Suniel who went above and beyond to ensure everyone's safety on set. Anusha shared, 'So, I will say that because it's my first action. And I don't know about the rest of the crew. I am not disregarding their care, because it's my first time. So, I was just focusing on my shot. But it was one man, Suniel Shetty, who was making sure everybody was safe in their shot. So, even if he had to push me against the wall, he made sure there was thermocol. And I was like, 'I'll be fine. No, there will be thermocol." 'He is so particular that he won't allow the scene to start before he checks all the weapons that are going to be used—like on somebody or me. He was doing it for everybody. And that, again, is a privilege—to have somebody who is so big in action still be concerned for everybody else," Dandekar added. When asked about the ongoing debate around safety during action sequences—especially in light of a recent incident in the South—Suniel Shetty agreed that safety should be a top priority on set. He acknowledged that action scenes demand meticulous planning and emphasized the need for stronger safety protocols. 'First of all, an industry must be looked at as an industry—it must get that status. We don't get the benefits that all the other industries get. It is very important to have insurance, and having training academies to teach action is also very important. Action directors should be licensed and certified, and there must be safety equipment. To hurry to shoot a scene, just because a film is near release – that is something that needs to change." The 'Dhadkan' actor went on to state, 'So, all these little things, if we are conscious of them, will make a lot of difference. I am very conscious when I do action. Not for my safety. For everyone's safety." Recently, Tamil stunt trainer Mohanraj tragically lost his life during the shoot of Pa Ranjith's film 'Vettuvam." The incident occurred while filming a car-overturning sequence featuring actor Arya. Helmed by Prince Dhiman and Alok Batra, 'Hunter Season 2" featured Suniel Shetty in the role of ACP Vikram. The series premiered for free on Amazon's MX Player on July 24. First Published: July 27, 2025, 15:40 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Suniel Shetty says he once did not know what depression was: 'If we were down, we were threatened with a slap'

Suniel Shetty , known for his action-packed roles and grounded personality, recently shared that there was a time in his life when he didn't even understand what depression meant. Looking back on his formative years, during a candid chat with Pinkvilla, the 'Dhadkan' star opened up about how the concept of mental health was practically non-existent during his youth. People around him weren't aware of what emotional or psychological distress looked like, and expressions of sadness or withdrawal were often dismissed or misunderstood. When he experienced moments of low energy or sadness as a youngster, it wasn't viewed through a lens of psychological well-being. In those days, such emotions were often handled with tough love. Shetty recalled how his mother would respond with strict discipline, pulling him out of the funk through physical or verbal jostling rather than conversation or empathy. Instead of being allowed to dwell in sadness, he was pushed into action—told to tidy up his room or get moving early in the morning. The belief then was that idleness bred negativity, and keeping busy was the antidote to sadness. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Embark on a 2-night Chennai–high seas–Chennai adventure. Today, people sit in their rooms, but back then our mom would say, Get out, clean the room, it's 8 o'clock already. And if we didn't come out, she would smack us," Shetty recalled. There was no understanding of what it meant to be mentally strong or emotionally unwell. No one in his circle ever discussed topics like depression, therapy, or mental health. The prevailing attitude was one of resilience and moving forward without complaint, a stark contrast to the more open and sensitive conversations being encouraged today. Recognizing the vast change in perspective over the years, Shetty has taken meaningful steps to contribute to the evolving dialogue around mental health. In 2023, he introduced a wellness-focused digital initiative called Let's Get Happi. This mobile application was designed to make emotional support easily available, offering users real-time access to therapists around the clock. The app was created with the intention to make mental health care accessible, affordable, and free of stigma—a modern answer to an age-old struggle. Professionally, Shetty continues to stay active in the entertainment world. He was recently seen in the historical epic Kesari Veer, sharing screen space with Vivek Oberoi, Sooraj Pancholi, and Akanksha Sharma. Audiences will next see him bring laughter in the ensemble comedy drama Welcome To The Jungle.

I am very different in this season He said that everything about his character-body language, appearance, and emotions-has evolved. This time, the story is driven by a father's desperate mission to find his daughter, bringing a deeper emotional core to the role. The 'Dhadkan' actor shared, "I am very different in this season. The body language is different. The look is different. The emotions are different. Carefree and careless, Santha was in the first. Here it is more about family. And that is his only objective. The fifth season of the dance reality show will premiere this weekend, July 19, and the shooting is going on in full swing. Like a usual shooting day, Shilpa Shetty, who has returned as a beloved judge on Super Dancer, was snapped outside the sets. Dressed in a gorgeous pink Rajasthani lehenga, the Dhadkan actress arrived to shoot for an episode. But before entering the main set, she was seen having a brief interaction with a paparazzo. In the video, she could be seen playfully scolding a paparazzo for consuming tobacco. As she was entering inside the sets, she turned towards the paparazzi stationed outside and walked towards him. He informed Shilpa that he had stopped consuming tobacco, but his fellow mates teased him. They were seen telling Shilpa that he eats tobacco outside Film City and keeps it in his luggage. Shilpa chuckles and said, 'Kaise dost hai," realising that everyone is pulling his leg. Before heading inside, she again warned the paparazzo not to consume tobacco.
