Khargone/Barwani: Five members of a gang were arrested for selling and mortgaging rented vehicles, and nine four-wheelers worth Rs 60 lakh were seized from them. Khargone superintendent of police Dharamraj Meena said that on May 22, a person from Bhavsar Mohalla, Khargone, complained that his car was not being returned after it was taken on rent. In this case, Imran Sheikh, Farooq Sheikh, Avinash Jadhav and Deepak were arrested, and their police remand was obtained. The police investigation found that this gang took vehicles on rent from other people from Khandwa, Harda, Khargone and Sendhwa of Barwani district, and either sold or mortgaged them. Police also arrested another accused, Chetan Dhamone, a resident of Sendhwa in Barwani district, in this case. The SP said that nine four-wheelers valued at about Rs 60 lakh were seized from the accused. He said, "The accused used to take the vehicle in the name of renting it and also paid its rent in the initial months but when they stopped paying the rent, a complaint was lodged." Khargone: Police arrested a carrier allegedly working for a big smuggler with 12 firearms in Bedia police station area of Khargone district on SP Dharamraj Meena told media persons that acting on a tip-off, a person was arrested on Amba Road. He was identified as Sundar Singh , a resident of Singhana in Dhar district. Twelve firearms worth Rs 3.30 lakh were recovered from bought these firearms from a Sikligar and was going to deliver them to an infamous criminal of Dhar district. Nineteen cases of illegal arms manufacturing and selling are registered against that criminal, the SP said, adding that the search for both is SP said that in the last year, Khargone police arrested 69 accused in 43 cases and seized 367 firearms from them.

Bhilwara: Police in Chittorgarh seized 60.76 kg illegal opium poppy husk from a Hyundai Eon car at a checkpoint and arrested the driver.. The car used for smuggling was also confiscated. A team led by Bhadser SHO Dharamraj Meena set up a checkpoint on Bhadser Lasdawan Road, where they stopped a car and discovered 60.76 kg illegal opium poppy husk inside. Khargone: A female monkey and her baby who had been creating ruckus at the residences of senior officers in Civil Lines area of Khargone district headquarters were rescued and later released in forest. "For a long time, a female monkey and her baby were creating a ruckus at the residences of about 15 senior officers in Civil Lines. Sometimes they would take away things or break plants and flowerpots, and even injure persons," Khargone DFO Ramesh Rathore told TOI. "The monkeys would roam around bungalows of Collector, SP, DFO, and one or two other officers in the morning, and afterwards go to court premises via the old collectorate. People would give them fruits and vegetables in vegetable market in front of municipality, and finally, they would rest in the campus," he said. The DFO said that the monkeys troubled elderly members of SP Dharamraj Meena's family, and had attacked guard of Collector Bhavya Mittal, tore off his clothes, and injured him. "They even used to create ruckus in district court, and recently had entered the SDM office where they created chaos for a long time." Rathore said that usually the work of catching animals in the municipal area is carried out by the municipality, but CMO expressed their inability to catch them. The DFO said that cages were put up on the premises twice for a long time, but the clever monkeys could not be caught. After this, a rescue team from Indore was called in and they put up a cage on the premises of DFO bungalow and caught the female monkey. He said, "Troubled by the capture of its mother, the monkey became aggressive, and was tranquilised and caught." Both of them were later released in the forests of Jam Gate in Mandleshwar area of Khargone district, the DFO said.

Khargone: Three businessmen were arrested for allegedly sharing obscene photos and videos of a woman online in Khargone district headquarters. Khargone superintendent of police Dharamraj Meena told mediapersons that on the complaint of the woman, three businessmen were arrested under the IT Act. Preventive action was also taken against them. They were produced before the court on Wednesday, from where they were sent to judicial custody. According to the complaint, the woman used to chat with the accused on mobile. They allegedly lured her for video calling and, during this time, recorded obscene photos and videos of the woman. The trio then made them viral on social media.
