Diksha moves to 48th as Lottie Woad stays ahead in Scotland
Last Updated: North Ayrshire (Scotland), Jul 27 (PTI) Indian golfer Diksha Dagar improved slightly in the third round of the 2025 ISPS HANDA Women's Scottish Open as she moved up 11 spots to tied-48th on day 3 at the Dundonald Links here. The 24-year-old winner of two Ladies European Tour titles, who was tied-59th on day 2, had two birdies and a bogey, all in the first six holes. Diksha birdied the third and the sixth holes and dropped her only shot on the fifth. She parred her last 12 holes as she compiled 1-under 71 on a day when the weather was good and there was no breeze. She had shot 69 and 76 in the first two rounds. The other two Indians, Pranavi Urs and Tvesa Malik, had earlier missed the cut. England's Lottie Woad fired a round of 67 (-5) to take a two-shot lead into the last day. The English star got off to a steady start before rolling in her first birdie of the day on the fifth. Woad then made back-to-back birdies on the seventh and eighth holes and added another birdie on the 10th hole. The former world number one amateur made a birdie on the 14th before only her second dropped shot of the week on the 15th, but she soon bounced back with a birdie on the 17th to lead with a score of 17-under-par. Woad made her professional debut this week having secured her LPGA Tour card through the LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway (LEAP) after a T3 finish at the Amundi Evian Championship. The 21-year-old Woad is seeking her first win as a pro, but while being an amateur she won the 2025 KPMG Women's Irish Open earlier in July. Korea's Sei Young Kim and Denmark's Nanna Koerstz Madsen share the second place on 15-under-par at the 54-hole mark. The 12-time LPGA winner Kim fired a round of 66 (-6). Madsen produced a round of 67 (-5) on day three, which included two bogeys, five birdies and a chip-in eagle on the third to be two shots behind leader Woad. Pranavi returns from injury, Diksha and Tvesa ready to make mark at Scottish Open
Ayrshire (Scotland): Mysuru golfer Pranavi Urs will be back in action this week at the US 2 million Dollars ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open at Dundonald Links this week, after a long layoff due to injury back in May this year. The other Indians in the field are the in-form Diksha Dagar and Tvesa Malik as rookie Avani Prashanth and Hitaashee Bakshi failed to make the field. Pranavi, who won the Hero Women's Order of Merit in India in 2022 with five wins in a single season, was the top Indian on the Ladies European Tour in 2024. This season she was in the Top-15 at the Ford NSW Open in Australia and Investec SA Women's Open, she played and made the cut at Aramco Korea, but hurt her wrist. It got worse and she withdrew after the first round in the following week at the Dutch Ladies Open. She has not played since and is now 81st on the Order of Merit. Diksha has been having a good season that began with a runner-up finish at the Lalla Meryem Cup and she had four other Top-10 finishes and two more in Top-15. She is lying 13th on the Money List. Pranavi Urs plays with Kim Metraux of Switzerland and Spain's Fatima Fernandez Cano in the morning, while Diksha Dagar tees off with Miranda Wang of China and Korea's Sei Young Kim in the afternoon. Tvesa Malik will play alongside China's Weiwei Zhang and Norwegian Dorthea Forbrigd. The 2025 Women's Scottish Open at Dundonald Links is the ninth edition of the tournament since it became co-sanctioned with the LPGA Tour and the fourth consecutive year that Dundonald has hosted. A field of 144 players representing 32 nationalities will compete in a 72-hole stroke play competition with a cut to the top 65 players and ties after 36 holes. Lottie Woad will make her professional bow. The English star turned professional after securing her LPGA Tour card through the LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway (LEAP). Woad, the former world number one amateur, stormed to a six-stroke victory at the KPMG Women's Irish Open at the start of July. The 21-year-old then headed to the Amundi Evian Championship needing just a top-25 finish to secure her final two points to earn her LPGA Tour card. But Woad's scintillating form continued as she produced rounds of 68-69-70-64 to secure a T3 finish in the fourth major of the year. Scotland's Hannah Darling, who played for Team Europe at the 2019 PING Junior Solheim Cup, will be making her professional debut this week.

Golf: Vani finishes sixth, Diksha eighth in German Masters
Indian pair Vani Kapoor and Diksha Dagar had a fine finish in the Top-10 at the Amundi German Masters on the Ladies European Tour. Vani, playing her third event of the season, was Tied-sixth and Diksha was T-8 as Singapore's Shannon Tan won the title. Another Indian Avani Prashanth was T-26. Vani rallied from a disappointing third round to shoot 2-under 71 in windy conditions in the fourth round on the North Course at Green Eagle Golf Courses in the final round of the 2025 Amundi German Masters. That helped her close at Tied-sixth and get her first Top-10 finish since October 2022, when she finished T-8 at her home event, the Women's Indian Open. Vani, who has won four times in her home Tour WPGT this year, shot rounds of 72-70-76-71 to total 3-under for the week. Singapore's Shannon Tan sank a par putt on the last to secure a one-shot victory and her second Ladies European Tour (LET) title after a tense final day at the 2025 Amundi German Masters. Vani was the best Indian this week as Diksha Dagar, who was in contention over the first two days with 69-73, shot 74-74 over the final two rounds and ended Tied-eighth. It was Diksha's fifth Top-10 and she has also been in Top-15 on two other occasions. She is now back in Top-10 of the Order of Merit. Avani Prashanth, the third Indian to make the cut this week, had a very straightforward even par round with one birdie and one bogey and she finished T-26 at 2-over total. Her rounds this week were 73-74-74-73. Shannon Tan, who led overnight with a score of 12-under-par, opened with eight pars before making back-to-back bogeys on the ninth and 10th holes. A birdie on 11 put the Olympian back to a three-shot advantage over Germany's Helen Briem, who was playing in the group in front. However, bogeys on 13 and 17 saw the lead reduce to just one shot with one hole to play as Briem held the clubhouse lead on eight-under-par. After making it onto the 18th green, the 21-year-old knocked her birdie putt a few feet past but then rolled in the par putt to clinch her second LET title with a score of nine-under-par. Germany's Briem produced a round of 73 (E) to finish in outright second place on eight-under-par in Hamburg. New Zealand's Amelia Garvey carded a round of 72 (-1) to end the week in third place on seven-under-par in Germany. It is the rookie's third top-10 in four weeks and equalled her best finish of third place at the Hulencourt Women's Open. South Africa's Lee-Anne Pace and Ireland's Anna Foster shared fourth place on four-under-par with India's Vani Kapoor and Czechia's Tereza Melecka in T-6. One shot further back in a tie for eighth place were India's Diksha Dagar and Germany's Carolin Kauffmann, with four players rounding out the top 10.
