"Exceptionally high demand" crashes NFL's London ticketing system

The NFL began selling tickets to its 2025 London games on Thursday. It has not gone well. As of 8:30 a.m. ET, the NFL's U.K and Ireland Twitter account posted this: 'Due to exceptionally high demand for NFL London Games tickets, Ticketmaster has temporarily paused sales to monitor the queue and ensure genuine fans are able to purchase tickets. Your place in the queue is secure and there are still tickets available. We understand how frustrating this is and appreciate your patience.' The mention of 'genuine fans' is a reference to the infiltration of resellers and their bots. Based on some of the anecdotal evidence posted on social media, it appears that some believe the bots are still gobbling up tickets and putting them up for sale even when the queue for the 'genuine fans' is paused. We tried to enter the queue. The wait time is 'more than an hour,' with 247,734 people already in line. 'Our tech teams spotted bad actors and we are working to keep them out,' the message explains. (Sorry, Dolph Lundgren.) It's become a staple of efforts to get tickets to high-profile events. The bots swarm the face-value tickets, and the 'genuine fans' have to spend much more than the price printed on the non-printed ticket by buying access through a reseller. Like, you know, Ticketmaster.

Kevin Spacey directs first feature film in more than 20 years

Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey has directed his first feature film in more than two decades. Spacey has helmed the supernatural action-thriller in which he features alongside Dolph Lundgren (Rocky IV, The Expendables), Tyrese Gibson (the Fast & Furious franchise, Morbius), Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool, Lucifer), Disha Patani (Kalki 2898 AD, Bharat) and Eric Roberts (Runaway Train, The Righteous Gemstones). The indie film, which has the working title of Holiguards, is planned to be the first in a franchise known as Statiguards vs. Holiguards and also stars Harry Goodwins, Swen Temmel and Sonia Pim Couling, Variety reported. It also marks the first feature to be produced by Elledgy Media, owned by Portugal-based Ukrainian entrepreneur Elvira Gavrilova Paterson. Holiguards is set against the backdrop of a near-future world fractured by hidden supernatural forces, where two ancient warrior factions—the Holiguards and the Statiguards—wage a secret war for control of humanity's fate. Amid this conflict, a young woman discovers that she's the daughter of two rival leaders and could end the conflict. The film was shot in Mexico last year and is now in post-production.

Drago hits the beach: ‘Rocky IV' star spotted in Miami after years-long health battle

After a years-long health battle, Dolph Lundgren was seen in Miami Beach on Tuesday looking plenty fit. The 'Expendables' star, 67, was snapped by paps while he swam in the surf and lounged on the sand in front of the Faena hotel with his wife, Norwegian personal trainer Emma Krokdal, 28. The following day, Lundgren was honored at a fundraiser at the Bath Club for his work with CHILDHELP, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect. Lundgren posted snippets from the fancy event as well as two pictures taken in Faena's famously ornate lobby. The caption says that 'the cause is very close to my heart and something I've experienced personally.' The six-foot-five-inch actor has been open about how his father used to beat him regularly when he was a child. 'He had a lot of issues,' the Stockholm native told journalist Graham Bensinger in a 2023 interview. 'It does a number on you as a kid.' Lundgren was able to turn a negative into a positive — learning martial arts to work out his anger and pivot to a Hollywood career. 'it gave me an ambition to succeed to prove to the world I wasn't a loser,' the father of two told Bensinger. 'He helped me in that respect.' Speaking of positive news, the 'Rocky IV' star who played Drago, yes, 40 years ago announced last November that after a multiyear health battle, he was 'cancer free.' Lundgren was first diagnosed in 2015, with doctors telling him he only had about three years to live after a tumor was found in his kidney. 'It's been a rough ride,' he said from a hospital bed at UCLA in an Instagram video. 'It really taught me to live in the moment and enjoy every moment of life. It's the only way to go.'

Action star Dolph Lundgren is launching his own vodka

Dolph Lundgren is well-known for his many action movie roles, including Ivan Drago in 'Rocky IV' and He-Man in 'Masters of the Universe.' He's taking on a new role, and this one isn't on the big screen, though. It's as founder of a premium vodka brand aptly called Hard Cut Vodka. This 90-proof, premium vodka was made with a base of Idaho-grown potatoes and spring water from the Rocky Mountains. It's touted as an 'ultra-smooth' and 'the ultimate all-American vodka.' It's already been awarded a Double Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Unsurprisingly, the name comes from the film term 'hard cut,' which describes a shot that abruptly ends and quickly cuts to the next shot without any dissolve, fade, or other transition. This new vodka was crafted to be smooth enough to be imbibed neat, on the rocks, or in a Martini, Vodka Soda, or any other popular vodka-based cocktail. According to the brand, Hard Cut Vodka is velvety and creamy smooth and has notes of green apple, fennel, roasted potato, and butterscotch. 'From earning my master's in chemical engineering, to taking on Rocky on the big screen, I've always believed in pushing the limits, striving for the best in all I do,' Dolph Lundgren, Founder and Chairman of Hard Cut Vodka said. He adds, 'My wife, Emma, and I enjoy vodka on the rocks, and after trying dozens of brands, we decided we needed to create the perfect liquid for a vodka world gone soft. Enter Hard Cut Vodka.' Hard Cut Vodka will be available nationally on for the suggested retail price of $25.99 for a 700ml bottle. It will be available at BevMo in California beginning this month and will be rolled out to other key markets in the US throughout 2025. Dolph Lundgren Says His New Vodka Brand Will Be ‘Heavyweight Champion' of the Spirits World

Dolph Lundgren is back in a big way, and this time, he's bringing the action to store shelves across America with the launch of his very own vodka. Launched by the legendary Swedish action star here in the U.S., Lundgren's vodka sources potatoes from Idaho with water from the Rocky Mountains for a true all-American spirit. The russet potatoes offer a slightly creamier mouthfeel and smoother finish than grain-based vodkas, while the mountain water adds crispness and purity. Bottled at 90 proof, the resulting spirit is refreshingly full-bodied, with hints of green apple, fennel and butterscotch, whether sipped chilled, on the rocks or in a cocktail. BUY HARD CUT VODKA ONLINE $25 Lundgren says work on the vodka began more than five years ago, and the actor says he's been involved in every step of the process, from selecting the ingredients, to working on the branding, to undergoing bartending training with industry mixologists. 'We wanted something that stood out,' he tells Rolling Stone; 'a vodka with real character, a bold presence, and a very smooth finish. That's how Hard Cut Vodka was born.' As for why the man who famously fought Rocky and played He-Man in Masters of the Universe is suddenly concocting cocktails and tasting notes? Lundgren says his two worlds aren't that dissimilar. 'I always bring intensity and focus to what I do, whether it's my years in action films or my passion for training and adventure,' he says. 'Hard Cut Vodka is the same — it's about strength, resilience, and living life to the fullest. It's tough but refined. Just like a good action hero.' Rolling Stone caught up with Lundgren to talk about his transition from actor to spirits maker, the 'larger than life' approach he wants to bring to the brand, and why he hopes Hard Cut Vodka will be part of his legacy with fans. You've probably been offered many different brand collaborations and product launches over the years – what was it about this one that made you say yes? Well, I started the process of creating Hard Cut Vodka over five years ago, because I prefer my vodka on the rocks and couldn't really find one that I loved. I ended up creating a premium all-American vodka that is higher proof, smooth, potato-based, and delicious both on the rocks and in cocktails. Why was now the right time to release this? I first came up with the idea over five years ago and it's taken all this time to develop the liquid, packaging, name, marketing campaign and make sure that this a quality brand that I can really stand behind. In addition, I felt the vodka space hadn't been exciting for a while and that there was room for a new, fun and premium vodka. I've had a long film career and this is a new challenge for me. Why vodka versus wine or tequila or a totally different product category? Look, I like to drink a good red wine, sometimes a top tequila, but vodka is my liquor of choice. I grew up in Scandinavia where people drink a lot of vodka. I personally like a great vodka, like Hard Cut Vodka, because it has a neutral yet luxurious taste, and it is perfectly suited for many different cocktails. What are some ways that you would say Hard Cut Vodka stands out amongst its competitors? I like to keep things simple and enjoy it on the rocks, but Hard Cut blends in well in any cocktail because of its higher ABV and smooth finish. The lack of sharp aftertaste, contrary to many other vodkas, makes a Hard Cut Vodka cocktail more delicious. I prefer to drink my Hard Cut Vodka chilled over a big rock, and it really allows you to appreciate the craftsmanship that went into the liquid. NEW RELEASE Available to buy online now $25 Buy Now AT FLAVIAR After decades of being a movie star, are you excited to enter your entrepreneurial era? I've been in a lot movies and that has been tough, but satisfying. Now, this new 'Hard Cut' era has certainly put me to a different test, in more unfamiliar territory. The satisfaction here is that I get to share my favorite product with the consumers. What's been more difficult for you: filming a movie or distilling your own vodka? Both are creative endeavors that have many challenges. I have been in the movie business for a long time so that comes easier to me. Being an entrepreneur and creating my own vodka brand however, has allowed me to wear a lot of hats that I haven't worn before, from both the business and financial sides. While Hard Cut Vodka represents me, you might detect a hint of the characters I have played in our marketing campaign. I've linked the two by creating a name that ties the two together. The name Hard Cut Vodka was derived from the term 'Hard Cut' in filmmaking, which is used to help move the story forward. The brand was created to invoke a combination of toughness, elegance and a sense of humor. Like a good action star. Do you see this vodka brand as part of your long-term legacy? Absolutely. I've worked harder on this than anything else in my life, including martial arts, my Chemical Engineering degree, and my career in show business. For the past 40 years as an actor, director, and producer, I've been connecting with people from all around the world, trying to entertain and inspire them with strength, sensitivity, and humor. Hard Cut Vodka is no different. This is a brand I want to see grow, and I know that when the dust settles, we will stand as the ultimate heavyweight champion of the vodka category. It's a reflection of who I am, and I hope it inspires people to live boldly. Best of Rolling Stone The Best Audiophile Turntables for Your Home Audio System
