Clemson falls to Kentucky 16-4 in regional round to end season 45-18
CLEMSON, S.C. (Clemson SID) – Kentucky scored five runs in the third inning and six runs in the fourth inning in its 16-4 victory over No. 11 Clemson in the Clemson Regional at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Wildcats improved to 31-25, while the Tigers' season ended with a 45-18 record. In the top of the first inning, Dominic Listi lined a single to extend his hitting streak to 12 games, then Jarren Purify scored on a wild pitch. Collin Priest's RBI groundout doubled the Tiger lead in the first inning. Kentucky responded with two two-out runs in the bottom of the first inning on Carson Hansen's single and error on the play. The Wildcats took a 7-2 lead in the third inning with five runs on two singles, then Clemson responded with a run in the top of the fourth inning on a two-out wild pitch. Kentucky answered with six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, a run in the fifth inning and two runs in the sixth inning. Cam Cannarella extended his hitting streak to 22 games with a single in the seventh inning, then Dominic Listi was hit-by-pitch, his 30th of the season to set an ACC record. Cannarella scored in the frame on a double play. Kentucky starter Nate Harris (5-2) earned the win, as he allowed six hits, three runs and four walks with seven strikeouts in 6.0 innings pitched. Cam Cannarella drives in four and Clemson rallies to defeat South Carolina Upstate 7-3
CLEMSON, S.C. — Cam Cannarella drove in four runs, Dominic Listi ignited the go-ahead rally in the eighth inning, and Clemson defeated South Carolina Upstate 7-3 on Friday night in the Clemson Regional. In the eighth, Listi singled then stole second and third before scoring on a single by TP Wentworth for a 4-3 lead. Jack Crighton scored on a sacrifice bunt by Andrew Ciufo, then Cannarella belted a two-run home run to center field, making it 7-3.

Clemson Baseball makes moves in up national polls after another impressive week Clemson baseball continues to climb the national rankings after another strong week, moving into the Top 5 in three major polls. The Tigers jumped to No. 4 in the D1Baseball rankings and cracked the Top 5 with Baseball America for the first time this season, landing at No. 5. Perfect Game bumped Erik Bakich's squad up one spot to No. rise comes after a 4-0 week that included a midweek win over Georgia Southern and a weekend sweep of Cal. Clemson leaned on timely hitting and shutdown relief work to get it done, especially late in games. On Friday, Dominic Listi delivered a clutch two-run double in the seventh inning, while on Sunday, Luke Gaffney's go-ahead sac fly sealed the sweep. The bullpen was dominant, combining for 6.1 shutout innings across the series. At 30-5 overall and 9-3 in the ACC, Clemson currently leads the league in winning percentage. Georgia Tech (11-4) owns more ACC wins after also sweeping Stanford, who Clemson will now host for a three-game set this weekend. All three matchups will be on national TV, starting Friday night on ESPNU. Individually, the Tigers continue to shine across the board. Lucas Mahlstedt leads the ACC in saves (11), and Aidan Knaak ranks top five in both strikeouts (61) and wins (5). Offensively, Listi is among the ACC's best in on-base percentage (.522), walks (35), and hit-by-pitch (15). Jarren Purify and Andrew Ciufo also rank high in HBP, and Purify is top 10 in triples, sac flies, and stolen bases. Josh Paino has worked his way into the league's top 10 in RBIs with 36. Clemson game won't be played this week, rescheduled
Three games into the 2025 college baseball season and we have our first game postponed due to inclement weather. Clemson baseball announced Monday that the home opener against Presbyterian, scheduled for 4 p.m. ET Wednesday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, had been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 5 at 4 p.m. The Tigers (2-1) are scheduled to face VCU at 4 p.m. Friday. It's the first of four games that Erik Bakich's team is scheduled to play in the Clemson Baseball Invitational at Doug Kingsmore Stadium -- two against VCU and two against North Carolina AT&T. Clemson opened the season at the Shriners Children's College Showdown at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas, over the weekend by beating No. 17 Oklahoma State 6-5 on Friday. They followed it up by totaling 17 hits in a 16-5 win over the No. 20 Arizona Wildcats Saturday before falling 15-5 in Sunday's finale to the Ole Miss Rebels in seven innings. Indiana State transfer outfielder Dominic Listi had a nice opening weekend for the Tigers, going 5-for-9 with seven RBIs. Cal Baptist transfer third baseman Josh Paino was 4-for-9 with five RBIs, and Cam Cannarella had four hits in the Tigers' 16-5 win Saturday. Sophomore Aidan Knaak started for the Tigers on opening day and pitched four innings, allowing four runs on five hits. He struck out seven batters and walked one. Clemson is ranked No. 8 in this week's Baseball America Top 25 poll and No. 14 In D1Baseball's rankings. Where Clemson ranks in the latest Top 25 polls after opening weekend
Clemson's season-opening weekend in Arlington, Texas, resulted in a slight climb in the rankings, but the Tigers left with mixed emotions after a tough loss to Ole Miss. Without head coach Erik Bakich, who was serving a suspension, Clemson picked up wins over No. 13 Oklahoma State (6-5) and No. 22 Arizona (16-5) before suffering a 15-5 run-rule defeat to the Rebels. The Tigers moved up to No. 14 in the poll while staying at No. 8 in Baseball America's rankings. Baseball America noted Clemson's offensive firepower in its two wins but also pointed out the disappointing finish against Ole Miss. The Tigers now turn their attention to a five-game homestand, starting with Presbyterian on Wednesday before hosting VCU and North Carolina A&T in the Clemson Invitational. Arizona tumbled out of the rankings after an 0-3 weekend, while Oklahoma State slipped to No. 17 in the Baseball America poll and No. 19 in rankings.
