Liam and Noel Gallagher performing together today as Oasis frontman updates fans

The first full Oasis rehearsals is taking place today - with Liam Gallagher reuniting with the rest of the band at a secret location and declaring he is 'loving life'. Frontman Liam was so excited about playing music with brother Noel Gallagher he was up at 6am replying to fans on X, formerly twitter, and told them rehearsals were happening. A second source also confirmed the band were meeting again today, having already started band rehearsals without Liam last month. It will be the first time Liam and Noel have played music together and performed together since 2009 - and comes just a month before they will hit the stage for fans in a giant UK tour. Liam told fans he was feeling 'biblical' but said he would not be posing for photos outside the rehearsal studios. He said: 'You won't see me I'm not a poser, I'll be in and out.' He also told another fan: 'I'm fine, loving life, how about you?' The first photos of the band leaving rehearsals in London were published in May. They showed Noel Gallagher, Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, Gem Archer and Andy Bell who will play guitars in the massive sold out gigs, with Andy on bass. The band also has new members in keyboard player Christian Madden and drummer JoeyWaronker on drums. He has played with Liam before on a tour but never in Oasis. Noel and Liam will walk on stage for the first time together in public, since the band split nearly two decades ago, on July 4 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. There will also be dates in Manchester, London and Dublin as part of the tour. Noel, 57, quit the Manchester rock group on August 28 2009, saying he "simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer", and the brothers had made negative comments about each other for more than a decade. That all changed with the announcement of the tour in August last year. The pair posed for several photos together confirming the band's long-awaited reunion on Tuesday, saying: "The great wait is over." In April Live Forever by Oasis was crowned the best British song of all time in a new poll ahead of the band's highly-anticipated reunion tour this summer. The Manchester band led by Noel and Liam Gallagher had an incredible 16 tracks in the top 100 results by Radio X. As well as Live Forever, 'Don't Look Back In Anger,' 'Slide Away' and 'Champagne Supernova' also made the top 10. It was Radio X's 10 th annual Best Of British with B&Q poll. ENDS

Oasis convinced to reunite by one star after years of pleas to Noel and Liam

Oasis fans can't wait to see Noel and Liam Gallagher back in action when their tour kicks off in July after the brothers' bitter feud left them estranged for 16 years Liam and Noel Gallagher sent fans into a frenzy when they announced they were reuniting last year and now it's been revealed who was behind the plan to get the band back together. The long-feuding brothers barely spoke for 16 years amid a bitter war of words between the Don't Look Back In Anger stars. Oasis fans had just about given up hope that they would ever see the stars together on stage again. However, after years of radio silence, the band announced that they were embarking on a world tour and it's all, reportedly, thanks to Noel's daughter, Anais. Anais, 25, whose mum is former It girl, Meg Matthews, is good pals with Liam's sons, Lennon and Gene and is said to have spoken to her cousins about getting their dad back in the rehearsal room with Noel. ‌ ‌ Following Noel's split from ex-wife, Sara McDonald in 2023, a source told The Sun: 'Anais was one of the biggest sources of comfort and support for Noel following his divorce. She was the one that was helping him get back on his feet and return to doing things he loved that had fallen by the wayside.' Claiming Noel had tried to reconcile with Liam over the years, but to no avail, they continued: 'Over the years, Noel had offered an olive branch to Liam, but he'd never taken it up. 'Anais could tell her dad really wanted both his brothers, Liam and Paul, by his side after the split so was determined to get them back in touch. She gets on great with Liam's sons Gene and Lennon so she asked them if their dad would be willing to hear her out. ‌ 'They said they thought he would be receptive, so she then asked Liam to reach out to his brother to lend support. Liam's always wanted Oasis back together so he got in touch.' Anais, who is said to have played a part in picking the tour's set list, recently spoke out in defence of younger Oasis fans, who were accused of not being able to appreciate the Britpop sensation's music because they were not of the same generation. ‌ Insisting her dad's catalogue of hits was 'timeless', the photographer told Hello! magazine: 'I see this all the time actually - where someone will post a funny video or a cover song and people would say '[Oasis] would hate this'. No, no, you hate this. 'Sometimes people put this hyper-aggressive masculine ideology into what they think that my dad and my uncle are going to be like. They're actually a lot more accepting than the fans are.' She added: 'People really love to hate on anything that young women like and it's really fascinating to me that young women want to go and see Taylor Swift and they're criticised because apparently it's not cool or it's embarrassing - and then young women want to go see Oasis and they're not allowed. ‌ 'So, where are young women allowed to take up space? People used the excuse of saying 'you weren't around', as a huge music fan myself, loads of bands that I like split up or were dead even by the time that I came to listen to them." Noel and Liam will walk on stage for the first time together since the band split on July 4 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. There will also be dates in Manchester, London and Dublin as well as Brazil and the US as part of the epic tour.

Oasis star 'gutted' he's been ditched from reunion as he shares Gallaghers' text

Former Oasis drummer, Zak Starkey, says he was 'gutted' after finding out he wouldn't be part of Liam and Noel Gallagher's star-studded reunion this summer Oasis star Zak Starkey is consoling himself after being ditched from the Gallagher brothers' eagerly awaited reunion tour. Fans of the Britpop legends were sent into a frenzy last year when Liam and Noel announced they were putting their fiery feud behind them and getting the back back together after a 16-year hiatus. Fans can't wait to watch the Don't Look Back In Anger stars back in action when the gigs kick off in Cardiff on July 4. However, former drummer for the band Zak, who performed with Oasis between 2004 and 2009, won't be a part of the line-up. ‌ ‌ Zak appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning (May 27) to promote his new single with supergroup Mantra of the Cosmos, which also features Bez and Shaun Ryder from the Happy Mondays alongside former Oasis bassist Andy Bell. When asked what he thought about the upcoming reunion tour, he conceded he was 'gutted' about not being asked to take part in the shows. He said: 'I texted them and said 'why am I not in it?'. You know, if you get a new drummer, you get comfortable, don't you? You get comfortable with new musicians and I think that's what's happened and I'm alright with that.' He went on to say he would have jumped at the chance to join Oasis on tour had the offer come in, but praised the band and Liam, saying: 'God, yeah. Greatest rock and roll band of my generation. Greatest rock and roll singer of my generation.' Zak, who is the son of Beatles' legend Ringo Starr, spoke about how his group's new single, Domino Bones, was originally written by Noel Gallagher, who gave it to Mantra of the Cosmos after suggesting it suited them better. The drummer told host Ben Thompson he was taken aback by the offer from Noel, saying: 'I was blown away by it - I couldn't believe it. The greatest songwriter of my generation sending me a tune." ‌ Last week, fellow Mantra of the Cosmos member Andy Bell confirmed he would be joining Liam and Noel on their reunion tour. The bassist, who played with Oasis between 1999 and 2009, said he was 'really looking forward to it'. Eagle-eyed fans shared snaps of Noel and Andy at rehearsals for the reunion gigs last week. Despite some controversy over Ticketmaster 's "dynamic pricing" strategy that saw ticket prices soar to double their value, those who managed to secure their spot are ecstatic, especially after a glimpse of the band arriving at the rehearsal studio. ‌ One excited fan posted: "F**k and I thought I was hyped before. It's genuinely fantastic to see them! "They've all aged pretty damn gracefully and I can't lie, the beard looks decent on Noel. Glad Bonehead looks so healthy as well. Lads, it's happening."

CD Singles: what are the most wanted UK singles releases from the era of the high street?

Does anyone else remember the excitement of hearing something on the radio, then heading to the supermarket on pocket money day to pick up a CD single? Am I showing my age here quite badly? For a long time, when 'Spotify' was something you did with a Where's Wally book , our immediate access to songs was either a) taping it off the radio and praying the DJ wouldn't talk over the end, or b) picking up one of the many… many CD maxi-singles that gathered in music retail outlets and, eventually, supermarkets – much to the dismay of Art Brut . In the United Kingdom, a CD maxi-single was a music single on a Compact Disc containing more tracks than the standard two-track (A-side and B-side) CD single. It was essentially the CD equivalent of the 12-inch vinyl single, often offering more value or a more comprehensive experience of a single release. CD maxi-singles, like CD singles in general, were very popular in the UK throughout the 1990s and into the early 2000s, forming a significant part of the music market and singles chart. They were typically released in standard 5-inch jewel cases, or often in slimline jewel cases. Sometimes, special packaging like digipaks or card sleeves was used, occasionally with space to house a second companion CD single for multi-part releases. It's the kind of CD that many charity shops across the United Kingdom still have hidden amongst albums people have donated; and some of them are, according to Discogs , very much still wanted by users of the marketplace. So, what CD singles are people looking for? We've picked the ones that have more than likely either been passed down through the annals of time to find themselves in a charity shop or, again, are stuffed into the far recesses of your car's glove compartment. 1 . Pulp - Common People (1995, Island Records, CID 613, UK) Jarvis Cocker's witty and poignant observational anthem, Common People is one of the defining songs of the Britpop era and a true masterpiece. This 1995 Island Records CD single (often the "Day version" sleeve) is a piece of British music legend. Its iconic status means it's perpetually in demand on Discogs and a very welcome charity shop discovery. 🔎 4617 wants | Getty/Discogs Photo Sales 2 . Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger (1996, Creation Records, CRESCD 221, UK) An epic singalong anthem from Oasis' (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, Don't Look Back In Anger is pure stadium rock brilliance. This 1996 Creation Records CD single is a cornerstone of Britpop. A true classic, it's a must-have for many music fans and frequently sought on Discogs, with copies regularly appearing in second-hand hunts. 🔎 4714 wants | Getty/Discogs Photo Sales 3 . Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc (2005, Parlophone, 7243 869882 2 5, UK) The Grammy-winning, instantly recognisable hit from Gorillaz' Demon Days album, Feel Good Inc is a modern classic with its laid-back groove and De La Soul feature. This 2005 Parlophone CD single is a key track of the 00s. Its widespread appeal means it's a common sight on Discogs wantlists and a fantastic find when hunting through charity shop CD racks. 🔎 4858 wants | Getty/Discogs Photo Sales 4 .
