Travis Scott Unveils ‘Jackboys 2' Release Date
With just days to go before its release, Travis Scott announced that his Cactus Jack compilation album Jackboys 2 will roll out this Sunday, July 13. According to post shared to his Instagram on Thursday night, the project will span 17 songs and be hosted by Bun B. 'The Jack is back with 17 tracks full of trunk rattling classics in the making,' read the text on the poster. Alongside the image, the rapper wrote in the caption: 'JB2 OUT EVERY WHERE 7 13SPEAKERS AND SCREAMS AT MAX VOLUME.' Earlier in the week, Scott shared the track '2000 Excursion' featuring Don Toliver and Sheck Wes. The rapper has also been promoting his project by reportedly sending Lamborghinis branded with the Jackboys logo (echoing his previous teaser trailer, which featured a purple Lamborghini alongside a horse) to his fellow artists including Waka Flocka Flame, 21 Savage, GloRilla, Tyla, Vybz Kartel, and Kodak Black — hinting at possible features on the upcoming sequel. Last year, Scott was presented with the annual I Am Hip Hop Award at the BET Hip Hop Awards, an honor given to artists who have made significant cultural and creative impacts on the genre. Travis Scott Celebrates ‘Jackboys 2' Release With ‘Dumbo' Video
Travis Scott is celebrating his Cactus Jack compilation album Jackboys 2 with a new visual. Just a day after dropping the 17-track LP that included songs by Sheck Wes and Don Toliver, Scott released the cinematic video for his highly teased single 'Dumbo.' The Gabriel Moses-directed visual splices clips of Scott singing from inside a crowded room of women and in front of a sports car. At one point in the video, Scott gets a tattoo painted on his back during the visual. The classic Travis Scott lyrics hear the star flaunting his luxuries while singing about a woman 'goin' dumbo.' He played it for the first time live during his 2025 headlining Coachella set as one of two unreleased tracks performed. Scott released the Jackboys 2 compilation album on Sunday, featuring tracks such as '2000 Excursion' with Scott, Sheck Wes, and Don Toliver; 'MM3' by SoFaygo; 'ILMB' with Scott and Wes; and 'Cant Stop' by Toliver and Wallie the Sensei. The album also features guest vocals from Tyla and Vybz Kartel on 'PBT,' GloRilla on 'Shyne,' and YoungBoy Never Broke Again on 'Outside.' The LP garnered a whopping 35.7 million first-day streams on Spotify and reached Number One on Apple Music Sunday. Jackboys 2 is the first compilation album from Cactus Jack since 2019, when the first JackBoys record dropped. That album featured 'Highest in the Room' featuring Rosalía and Lil Baby, 'Out West' featuring Young Thug, and 'Gatti' with Pop Smoke. Stampede will 'evaluate' which artists it books for free shows amid crowd safety concerns
Social Sharing The Calgary Stampede will be "evaluating" which artists it books for free concerts at the Coca-Cola Stage following concerns around overcrowding. The stage, which offers free outdoor concerts headlined by up-and-coming local artists and international stars, was subject to questions around its choice of talent when a crowd crush reportedly occurred during a performance by hip-hop superstar Don Toliver on July 8. During a media availability on Sunday, Calgary Stampede CEO Joel Cowley said the safety of attendees is "at the very, very top of our list" as the organization moves forward. "Going into 2026, one of our focal points will be continuing to evolve the Coke Stage, because we want our guests there to be comfortable, and feel safe and secure," he said. Cowley pointed to two shows in particular — those headlined by Toliver and R&B singer Khalid — as drawing the largest crowds. "We had two very large, high-volume nights this last week, and we know that some of our guests did not feel comfortable, so we will continue to evaluate that," he said. Kerrie Blizard, the Calgary Stampede's director of public safety, said during a media availability last week following the Toliver concert that she thought it "was a great success" based on attendance and audience feedback. Across the grounds, concertgoers recount feelings of being crushed and trapped in the audience at a concert by American rapper Don Toliver. The CBC's Acton Clarkin reports. Cowley pointed to preparations put in place ahead of those concerts, including alternate viewing locations being set up with livestreams of the shows — which he acknowledged were poorly attended by concertgoers — and collaborations with the Calgary Police Service, which put out a statement ahead of the Toliver concert to offer safety tips. "We also have to evaluate which artists we place on that stage," he said. "We know these high-demand artists, those that draw a younger crowd, tend to be a little less ruly than, say, a classic rock band that goes there, and so all of those things will be evaluated." Admission to concerts at the Coca-Cola Stage are included with admission to the Calgary Stampede. There are no age restrictions or attendance limits. Cowley said the organization is looking at adding "additional barriers" to prevent overcrowding toward the front of the stage. He said Stampede staffers will be "travelling to another event" to observe safety measures in place there. "We pride ourselves on being a music festival," he said, pointing to the over 100 acts that took the stage across the Stampede's three major concert venues: the indoor Big Four Roadhouse, Nashville North party tent and Coca-Cola Stage. "There are people who come to Calgary during these 10 days with the sole intent of watching [concerts]," Cowley said. "It's a way you can draw a very diverse audience and share our Western hospitality." Attendance high, but falls short of last year's record According to the Calgary Stampede, 1,470,288 people visited Stampede Park over the course of this year's event. The figure falls short of the attendance record set in 2024 — 1,477,953 visitors — but earns the 113th Calgary Stampede the title of second-most-attended. Stuart O'Connor, president and chair of the Calgary Stampede board, said those numbers reflect the diverse nature of the event. "No matter where you're coming from, and no matter what you're interested in, there is something for everyone during Stampede," he said. The most-attended day this year — and second-most-attended day in Stampede history — was Tuesday, July 8, which offered free admission early in the day, as well as being the date of the controversial Toliver concert. Cowley said the Stampede works to manage its growing crowd sizes in a variety of ways. "We know which days are gonna be more attractive to attend than others," he said. "Those free admission days, we know that we're going to get great attendance on those days," he continued. "The great thing about those is that we require those people to come in free early. They typically don't stay all day." Cowley said the demolition of the Scotiabank Saddledome, which he said happens "hopefully by 2030," will help the Stampede increase attendance and better accommodate larger crowds by adding 11 acres to the park.

In 2019, the 'Highest in the Room' singer released the compilation album JackBoys featuring Cactus Jack signees like Don Toliver and Sheck Wes as well as other major artists like Rosalía and the late Pop Smoke. Six years later, Scott and his JackBoys crew are back with the new album JackBoys 2 . Cactus Jack roster members Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, SoFaygo, and Wallie the Sensei join the party, as well as other hitmakers from across the industry, ranging from Tyla and GloRilla to Future, 21 Savage, Vybz Kartel, Kodak Black, Playboi Carti, and Waka Flocka Flame. Legendary Houston rapper Bun B acts as host and hip-hop educator popping up throughout the album. When speaking with Complex this spring about his musical direction, Scott said he was focusing not just on making new music, but as a producer as well. 'I'm super into producing [right now], making the beats again, and getting the sound back. I'm making beats and music for other people, and even for myself,' he said. "I've been really into beatmaking. Because I think a lot of beats are kind of the same. Like, you're hearing a lot of the same beats and the same drums. So that process [of beatmaking] is what makes it exciting to make the songs." As for his place in the music industry now a decade after his debut, Scott is proud of what he has to offer and what he believes he's teaching his fans. 'I'm here to motivate. I'm here to knock down walls of fear. I've always put myself on the frontline of showing the unknown,' he said. "I'm opening the gate for people to understand that you can do anything you want to, at the highest level. You've just got to go do it."
