Ed Sheeran, ROSÉ of BLACKPINK & More Are Off to the Races on ‘F1' Movie Soundtrack
It's lights out and away they go for Ed Sheeran, ROSÉ of BLACKPINK and several more stars, with Atlantic Records announcing the full lineup for its F1: The Album Thursday (May 1).
In addition to the 'Azizam' singer and K-pop star, Tate McRae, RAYE, Burna Boy, Roddy Rich, Dom Dolla, Chris Stapleton, Tiësto, Sexyy Red, Myke Towers, Madison Beer, Peggy Gou and more will also help soundtrack the Brad Pitt-led film. The album was led by the Ryan Tedder-produced single 'Lose My Mind' by Don Toliver featuring Doja Cat, which dropped the day prior to the F1: The Album announcement and samples Hans Zimmer's 'F1 Movie Theme.'

Directed by Top Gun: Maverick's Joseph Kosinski, F1 finds the Fight Club actor portraying retired racer Sonny Hayes — whose career was cut short decades prior due to an injury — as he returns to the track to help former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem) save his struggling Formula 1 team, Apex Grand Prix. The film will also star Damson Idris as Joshua Pearce, the team's 'hotshot rookie intent on setting his own pace,' according to a description.
For the companion album, the filmmakers tapped Kevin Weaver to produce. The two-time Grammy winner previously oversaw the soundtrack albums for Barbie, Twisters, The Greatest Showman, Suicide Squad, Daisy Jones & The Six and Birds of Prey. Atlantic's Brandon Davis and Joseph Khoury also helped produce the F1 album.
F1 will hit theaters June 27, with the soundtrack dropping the same day. See the full artist lineup and album announcement below.

Cynthia Erivo is talking about the changes she made for Elphaba in Wicked: For Good ahead of the release of the film's first trailer, which is set for Wednesday. Erivo, of course, was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar earlier this year, one of the 10 nods Wicked received including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress for Ariana Grande. Wicked won two Oscars at the 97th Academy Awards — for Best Costume Design for Paul Tazewell and Best Production Design for Lee Sandeles and Nathan Crowley. Wicked: For Good — the second film in the adaptation of the 2003 classic Broadway musical — is set for a Nov. 21 release. The first trailer for Wicked: For Good will premiere at a one-night-only screening event of Wicked in theaters on Wednesday, followed by the release of the teaser on YouTube, according to ABC's Good Morning America. In an interview Monday with Billboard about her new album I Forgive You, Erivo brought a bit of Wicked: For Good into the conversation. Considering that Elphaba is heading into the Wicked Witch of the West territory that fans know from the character's appearance in the 1939 film classic The Wizard of Oz, Erivo noted that there are dark times ahead for Glinda's former ally. 'She's able to access her rage more,' Erivo told Billboard. 'The scent I wore changed. The makeup changed. Little shifts that bring you to a more mature version of who Elphaba becomes. And she is delicious in this next one.' In addition to the film's awards season success, Wicked was a massive hit in theaters. Following the film's Nov. 22, 2024, release, Wicked went on to earn $473.2 million in North American theaters and nearly $282 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $755.2 million against a $145 million budget before prints and advertising, according to The Numbers. Wednesday's special screening of the film with the Wicked: For Good trailer drop will, of course, add to that number. In addition to the theatrical success of Wicked, the film also earned $100 million in digital streaming revenues via premium video on demand, Deadline reported in April. Wicked is currently streaming on Peacock and is still available to purchase or rent on PVOD. Directed by Jon M. Chu, Wicked: For Good opens in theaters worldwide on Nov. 21.

It reaches that important milestone as it advances from No. 28 to No. 22 during a quieter period on the tally. Rosé's tune is now tied as the second-longest-charting track in U.S. history by a K-pop musician. Although originally from New Zealand, Rosé is closely associated with the K-pop style thanks to her career beginnings in Blackpink. Much of her output is at least partially related to that genre — including 'Apt.,' which features both English and Korean lyrics. Just last week, 'Apt.' was on the same level as 'Gangnam Style,' the first K-pop hit many Americans were familiar with. That track, which peaked at No. 2 more than a decade ago, racked up 31 stays on the Hot 100 and, for many years, reigned as the highest-charting and longest-lasting success by any K-pop artist in America. 'Apt.' now needs just one more frame to tie the all-time best showing by a K-pop star. That honor belongs to Jimin, one of the seven singers that make up BTS. He kept his tune 'Who' on the tally for 33 weeks, starting in mid-2024. While Jimin's track only climbed to No. 12, it remained on the list for months. Since 'Apt.' is still present just outside the top 20, it seems likely Rosé will match Jimin's showing — and may even beat it in time.

A-ha Frontman Morten Harket Reveals Parkinson's Diagnosis, Says He's Done ‘Treating It as a Secret'
After battling Parkinson's disease for some time in private, A-ha's Morten Harket is now sharing his diagnosis with the public. By way of a letter written by the band's biographer, Jan Omdahl, the singer broke the news to fans that he has been receiving treatment for the neurological disorder 'in recent years,' undergoing surgeries last June and December to implant symptom-reducing electrodes on both sides of his brain. Harket also said that he'd been having conflicting feelings for quite some time about whether he should go public with his diagnosis. 'Like I said, acknowledging the diagnosis wasn't a problem for me; it's my need for peace and quiet to work that has been stopping me. I'm trying the best I can to prevent my entire system from going into decline. It's a difficult balancing act between taking the medication and managing its side effects.' 'It used to bother me to think about my sickness becoming public knowledge,' Harket added. 'In the long run, it bothers me more to have to protect something that is strictly a private matter by treating it as a secret.' According to the Mayo Clinic, Parkinson's is a 'movement disorder of the nervous system that worsens over time,' often causing tremors and affecting the motor skills of patients. There is no cure for the degenerative disease, but medicines and surgery can help ease symptoms. For Harket, both treatment paths have 'led to a dramatic improvement in his symptoms,' though he still faces regular exhaustion and strain. He also said that his singing abilities have been affected, but it's not of primary concern for him right now. 'I don't feel like singing, and for me that's a sign,' he told Omdahl. 'The question is whether I can express myself with my voice. As things stand now, that's out of the question … I see singing as my responsibility, and at certain moments I think it's absolutely fantastic that I get to do it. But I've got other passions too, I have other things that are just as big a part of me, that are just as necessary and true.' Even so, the Norwegian singer has been working on new music throughout his journey with Parkinson's, revealing that he has 'great belief' in the material that's sprung out of this period in his life. 'I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish them for release,' Harket said. 'Time will tell if they make it. I really like the idea of just going for it, as a Parkinson's patient and an artist, with something completely outside the box.' He also added that — while appreciative of the concern fans will undoubtedly have for him as they learn of the news — he's already weary from the anticipation of all the messages of sympathy and unsolicited advice headed his way. 'Don't worry about me,' he said when asked what he wants listeners to know at this time. 'Find out who you want to be — a process that can be new each and every day. Be good servants of nature, the very basis of our existence, and care for the environment while it is still possible to do so.' Harket added, 'Spend your energy and effort addressing real problems, and know that I am being taken care of.' Over the past couple of decades, cases of disability and death caused by Parkinson's have been 'rapidly spreading,' according to the World Health Organization. As of 2019, an estimated 8.5 million people had the disease, an ever-growing population that also includes stars such as Michael J. Fox, Ozzy Osbourne, Foreigner's Mick Jones, Neil Diamond, Linda Ronstadt and Marc Cohn, who have all been open about their diagnoses. A-ha was one of the defining pop groups of the 1980s, landing three entries on the Billboard Hot 100 in the second half of the decade: 'The Sun Always Shines on T.V.,' 'Cry Wolf,' and No. 1 hit 'Take on Me.' The group is comprised of Harket and friends Magne Furuholmen and Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, who formed the group in Oslo in 1982.
