Refracted sunlight sparks blaze across two homes in Basingstoke
Sunlight refracted through glass has sparked a fire which spread to two started on a wooden fence before moving to the terraced houses in Dorset Crescent in Basingstoke at about 16:00 BST on Saturday, said the fire was an "important reminder to ensure that glass ornaments and mirrors are kept out of sunlight, particularly in hot weather", Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service returned to their station at about 18:00, after conducting other home fire safety visits.
