New festival hits downtown Sioux City
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A new festival started on June 6 in the downtown area of Sioux City. The inaugural 'Always Going To Be Me' music and arts festival runs until midnight at 4th & Virginia Streets. Along with live music, local artists are showcasing and selling their work. There are also food and beverage vendors on hand. There is a few different events happening downtown, so I'm hopeful that people will be able to enjoy all the downtown live and then our event as well. Downtown Partners launches First Fridays event series
SIOUX CITY, IA (KCAU) — The Downtown partners is launching the first ever First Friday event series. According to a release the event begins June 6 and will be held on the first Friday of every month through October. It is designed to bring energy, entertainment, and community connection to Downtown Sioux City. Each Friday will feature a vibrant lineup of of activities, from live music and art to food trucks and pop up events, including favorites like Downtown LIVE and Food Truck Fridays. 'First Fridays are about more than just a good time, they're about building momentum forour downtown community,' said Ragen Cote, Executive Director of Downtown Partners.'It's a way to bring people together, support local businesses, and showcase all the greatthings happening in the heart of Sioux City.' Sioux City announces bevy of summer events
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — With summer fast approaching and the temperatures rising, there are plenty of events taking place for Siouxlanders to attend. The City of Sioux City held a press conference Friday morning announcing multiple events, including a new event. It's the 'Always Going To Be Me' festival, meant to highlight the individuality, freedom, and resilience of local artists and musicians. The event will take place on Virginia Street between 3rd and 4th Streets on June 6. An event taking place for the second time is the La Familia Summer Jam Block Party hosted by La Familia Nightclub. Headlining the party area are three Atlanta legends: Gorilla Zoe, Lil Scrappy, and Yung Joe. It takes place June 7 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Downtown Partners announced a new event series called First Fridays. Taking place June 6, July 4, Aug. 1, Sept. 5, and Oct. 3, the series will highlight what downtown Sioux city has to offer by provide multiple activities, including Downtown Live and Food Truck Fridays. The line up for the summer concert series was announced Friday morning. The concerts will take place on from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on June 6, July 4, Aug. 1, and Sept. 5. The Siouxland favorite of Food Truck Fridays is also returning. In its 10th year, Food Truck Fridays will start June 6 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Friday through August 29. The weekly event takes place every Friday in the summer and features a slew of local food trucks all in one place. In addition to all the above events, the Sioux City Public Museum is hosting multiple events themselves. On top of the exhibits that will be on display, the museum is also hosting many family-friendly events, such as National Dinosaur Day, Floyd Monument and First Bride's Grave Family Field Trip, and Kid's Thursdays. Restaurant Week: Dinner Edition taking place later this month
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Downtown Partners has announced the return of a popular event featuring a slew of local restaurants. Restaurant Week: Dinner Edition will take place later this month from April 22 through April 26. This year will be featuring 16 local favorites including El Comal, Melting Cow, SoHo Kitchen & Bar, and the brand new 1854 Grille, amongst others. 'All our chefs and restaurant owners are looking forward to flauinting their menus this year!' Downtown Partners executive director Ragen Cote said. 'Restaurant Week is such a big hit for our local businesses. The community really comes out for this one, so I would suggest making our reservations now. Last year, some places were just too full to accommodate two of us. That's a great problem to have!' Upcoming music and art festival will celebrate individuality, freedom, and resilience
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A festival highlighting the individuality, freedom, and resilience of local artists and musicians will be taking place downtown later this summer. The 'Always Going To Be Me' festival will be taking place on Virginia Street between 3rd and 4th Streets on June 6. The festival is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. and will keep the fun going until midnight. Downtown Partners said in a release that the event will feature a diverse lineup of both local and regional musicians as well as showcases from local artists. There will also be a variety of food and beverage vendors at the event. Sioux City inviting teams to participate in Litter Dash The festival will also be featuring educational forums covering topics such as environmentalism, legislation, human rights, and more.
