Pixel 10 Pro leak: Commercial shoot reveals the device's design
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. A commercial shoot for the Pixel 10 Pro was leaked, offering early visuals of the device. The Pixel 10 Pro should be retaining a similar design to its predecessor, including the protruding camera visor and triple camera system with a temperature sensor. The leak also indicates that Google is likely planning an early summer event to launch the Pixel 10 series. Google is preparing for the Pixel 10 series lineup, and it is pretty evident that the company appears to be shooting for the commercials of its products. Thanks to a new leak, we get to see a glimpse of the shoot alongside some sneak peeks of the upcoming handset. The leak comes through a photographer, Mark Teasdale, on X (via DroidLife), where he happened to go out for a walk and spotted a commercial shoot happening with over 20 crew shooting a man with a phone — and that happens to be the Pixel 10 Pro, going by the images. The images from the so-called 'Ask more of your phone' shoot here include a storyboard of the commercial, which comprises some Pixel 10 Pro shots in a couple of angles revealing its design, and some hands-on of the device where one can see the notable protruding camera visor similar to the predecessor Pixel 9 Pro. It includes the triple camera setup next to the popular temperature sensor. The successor looks largely the same as the previous iteration — in the commercial shoot images and also matches the previously leaked Pixel 10 Pro renders. While a lot of older-generation Pixel phones have shown up before the release in several ways, like renders, someone dropping the phone in a café, or its retail box surfacing, the latest commercial shoot leak still comes as an interesting way to see the phone beforehand. We will likely get devices like Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold this time around. Phone deals: Best Buy | Walmart | Samsung | Amazon | Verizon | ATT

Google finally confirms when we can expect Android 16 to drop
The Android Show might be over, but news from Google's most important Android-related events continue to surface. Although it didn't issue any statements regarding the release of Android 16, Google confirmed the new version of the ecosystem will arrive 'next month.' The company's president of the Android Ecosystem, Sameer Samat, told journalists and other attendees at the event that they should 'watch out for updates coming to your Pixel devices starting next month,' Droid-Life reports. Unfortunately, if you won't get Android 16 in June, as Google's official hinted earlier this week. According to Samat, Android 16 will be available for Samsung and other devices sometime 'this summer.' Because Google said Pixel devices will be the first to receive the Android 16 update in June and Samsung's phones won't get it until later on, there's a high chance that One UI 8 will drop around the same time the South Korean company introduces the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Samsung has already started testing One UI 8, so a July or August release makes sense if nothing bad happens during the developing far as other brands go, it's hard to tell when they'll start rolling out the Android 16 update, but it's probably safe to assume that will happen soon after all the eligible Pixel devices receive the update. According to previous reports, Google will release Android 16 for Pixel devices on June 3, which comes in line with what the Mountain View company said during its Android Show earlier this week. Even if the update won't be available in the first week of June, at least we know it will arrive sometime next month. If you own a Pixel phone or tablet, you should definitely watch out for the update starting in June. Meanwhile, Google has just released another Android 16 beta build, which addresses several major issues that have been flagged by testers. If you're enrolled in the beta program, you can already download Android 16 beta 4.1.

So many people had no clue this Google app for managing photos and videos existed!
Hadlee Simons / Android Authority TL;DR Google has a Gallery app (formerly Gallery Go) designed for offline photo viewing, which many users, even Pixel owners, are unaware of despite its billion-plus downloads and six-year existence. A trending Reddit thread revealed widespread surprise about the app's existence, with users praising it as a simple alternative to Google Photos. The app has been under the radar due to a lack of promotion and updates from Google. It received minor improvements in January. Google Photos isn't just a feature-rich gallery app; it's also a powerful editing tool, which explains why it's among the most-used apps on Android devices. But did you know that Google also has another gallery app designed specifically for offline photo management? It's essentially a lighter, offline-friendly version of Google Photos, and surprisingly, many Android users have never heard of it. We assumed everyone was aware of Google's lesser-known Gallery app. After all, it has received considerable coverage from various tech publications, including us. Back in 2023, my colleague Hadlee Simons even recommended it as a simple, offline solution for viewing photos. Despite all the coverage, it turns out many users, including many Pixel owners, still don't know the app exists. A Reddit thread, first noticed by DroidLife and currently trending on the Pixel subreddit, highlights just how under-the-radar the Gallery app remains. The app has over a billion downloads, yet the trending Reddit thread is filled with surprised Pixel users thanking a commenter for introducing them to it. Did you know about the Google Gallery app? 0 votes Yes, of course! I've know for a long time! NaN % No, I had no clue! NaN % 'Oh my gosh, why did I not know about this? And you're telling me I'll automatically see all my photos and videos here? And I can use it like a normal gallery?' wrote the thread's creator, who was searching for a Google Photos alternative. 'Bless you. This has been my biggest gripe with Google Photos. I tried third-party apps, but they were super sketchy, so I gave up,' added another user. 'Thanks for sharing — I didn't know this app existed,' wrote yet another commenter, followed by more such surprise reactions. So why the lack of awareness? Likely because Google doesn't promote the Gallery app much. Originally launched in 2019 as Gallery Go, the app was intended for low-end devices with limited storage in markets where network connectivity isn't great. Since then, the app hasn't seen much marketing or feature expansion. While Google hasn't added any major functionality to the Gallery app in years, its most recent update came in January, focused on bug fixes and minor improvements. The app does offer basic AI-powered photo organization, but it's a straightforward tool for viewing locally stored photos and videos. Nothing more. For those sticking with Google Photos, there's an easy way to access local media and differentiate between what's on your device and what's stored in the cloud. You can just head to the 'Collections' tab and tap on 'On this device' to view images and videos saved locally on your phone.
